<tb> sehr <SEP> wenig <SEP> benetzt <SEP> wird, <SEP> wodurch <SEP> es <SEP> ermög licht <SEP> wird, <SEP> die <SEP> gesponnenen <SEP> Fäden <SEP> rasch <SEP> ab zuziehen, <SEP> bei <SEP> gleichzeitigem <SEP> gutem <SEP> Anspin nen. <SEP> Man <SEP> kann <SEP> hierbei <SEP> die <SEP> zum <SEP> Abziehen <SEP> be nötigte <SEP> Liraft <SEP> so <SEP> bemessen, <SEP> dass <SEP> man <SEP> prak tisch <SEP> all <SEP> die <SEP> Grenze <SEP> der <SEP> Festigkeit <SEP> des <SEP> gespon- neuen Fadens kommt. Bei Verwendung von Schmelzen kommt es in erster Linie darauf an, dass die Wärmeleitfähigkeit der Spinn düsen gering ist;
Process for the production of artificial threads. The invention relates to a method for the production of artificial threads from the melt of thermoplastic masses under pressure and at temperatures of over 150. The method is characterized in that spinnerets made of glass, for example made of quartz glass, are used.
It is strange that in spite of the high temperatures to be used in the process, which are over 150 and up to -00, and the pressures that are practically a power of ten higher than in the usual spinning processes using viscose, copper oxide-ammonia cellulose and the like, even spinnerets made of glass or quartz glass can be used with success.
It must be assumed that the strongly adhesive melts of thermoplastic to be spun only due to the peculiar surface properties of nozzles made of glass respectively. Quartz glass can be pulled off at the required high speeds, while when using other building materials, such as precious metal, it is not possible to achieve such high pull-off speeds. The use of glass respectively. Quartz glass nozzles also offer the advantage of reducing the known difficulties in piecing to a minimum.
It must be noted that in the manufacture of artificial textiles by pressing any liquids through nozzles; whereby either real or colloidal dissolved in liquids or in the molten state substances are formed into staple fibers, the nature of the finished product u. a. depends essentially on the properties of the spinneret. The technology used so far for the production of spinnerets of the most varied of materials. Preference is given to noble metals and their alloys, e.g. B. those of gold, platinum or rhodium have been proposed.
Tautal and other metallic materials have also been used for this purpose by the technology. By remuneration of the alloys mentioned, the nozzles made therefrom can be given a high hardness and thus a long service life, where with adequate elongation BEZW. Elasticity is ensured.
Originally, spinning nozzles made of ceramic construction materials, especially glass, were used to manufacture staple fibers from macromolecular solutions. Such spinnerets have now practically disappeared from the tech nology when processing viscose as a spinning liquid because they have proven to be too brittle. It has also been suggested that nozzles that have a significant hardness and are resistant to acids and the like to use those made of soapstone and subsequently hardened by annealing Lich. It is not known whether such nozzles have proven themselves in the tea industry.
In any case, they are not used, since the technology today almost exclusively works with nozzles made of precious metal, despite the high price of such nozzles.
It has now been shown that the spinning nozzles made of metallic materials, primarily the aforementioned noble metal alloys, are not suitable for processing strongly adhesive spinning solutions, in particular such fully macromolecular substances, be it in form of hydrosols or organosols.
If you have to spin melts of macromolecular substances obtained by polymerization or polycondensation, then generally all spinnerets made of metal say ver. Now that technology has turned to such: spinning solutions, it is preferable to recall the spinning solutions that are obtained by dissolving casein and other proteins in their solvents, of spinning materials that are obtained on the basis of hydrocarbons through polymerization or condensation be e.g.

When using melts, it is primarily important that the thermal conductivity of the spinning nozzles is low;
because the plastics to be spun as melts often have a very low temperature range in which they can be spun; H. in which they pass from the hard to the viscous to the thin, spinnable state and vice versa. If the temperature is not high enough, then such spinning liquids are too viscous to be spun at all; if the temperature is only a little too high, there is a risk of causing decomposition.
It is therefore very peculiar and cannot be explained without further ado that the advantages mentioned above are achieved when spinning the said melts using nozzles made of glass or quartz glass. As a working hypothesis, one can imagine that the surface tension of the strongly adhesive substances in question, because of their lower viscosity in relation to other spinning solutions, is so favorable that the otherwise damaging brittleness of the Glass does not harm and precisely because of the favorable surface tension ratio of the spinning liquids in question to glass or quartz, a smooth separation is possible without clogging.
When using spinnerets made of the building materials mentioned with the spinning liquids in question, it is possible to use spinnerets in which the individual spinning holes stand from only 3 to 5 times the hole diameter. In contrast, when trying to spin sticky liquids out of metal nozzles, one had to use much larger hole spacings.
The thermal and electrical conductivity of the building material to be used according to the invention for the nozzles is likely to be the reason why the electrical voltages, which are so disruptive when spinning the liquids in question through metal nozzles, do not occur. It was not foreseeable that it would be possible to spin a strongly sticky liquid through the brittle glass nozzles.
Rather, it was to be assumed that due to the great adhesive strength, for example of vinyl compounds, which is even used for the production of composite bodies made of glass, a söfortiges Ver plug or. The nozzles would burst. Strangely enough, however, this does not occur; Metal nozzles are clogged, while those made of glass remain clear and you can even work with increased spinning speed.
