Fahrzeugradbereifung.
Vehicle wheel tires. The use of thermoplastics such as polyvinyl chloride, and similar union plastics for vehicle wheel preparation is known. Such tires were normally built for use without pneumatic inserts and cutouts were made on the outside to increase the tire elasticity, which, however, requires the tires to be manufactured in molds. With those following this procedure. Manufactured tires but showed difficulties in terms of their attachment to the rims. Clamping on requires expensive special rims and no suitable adhesive has yet been found for gluing onto normal rims.
These disadvantages are remedied by the vehicle wheel tires according to the present invention. According to the invention, the vehicle wheel tire has a piece of a profiled strand made of thermoplastic plastic produced by the extrusion process in any length, the ends of the strand piece bent into the shape of a tire being connected to one another by heat treatment and the strand having a cavity running along its length for the purpose of Receipt of a fastener by which the tire is pressed against the wheel rim and is held immovably on the same.
Embodiments of the subject invention are shown in the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 shows a first embodiment in radial section.
Fig. 2 'is a longitudinal section through that part of the tire from which the attachment it is visible.
Fig. 3 and 4 are longitudinal sections of De tailvarianten, and Fig. 5 is a radial section associated with Fig. 3.
The tire 1 made of a plastic material has a lengthwise cavity 2 of flat-oval cross-section and can thus be obtained from a piece of a profiled strand produced in any length by the extrusion process. The strand piece is bent into a tire shape and the ends of the strand piece are connected to one another by the heat treatment. 3 in Fig. 2 shows the junction. In the cavity 2 there is a fastening means in the form of a band 4, the end parts 5 of which are led out from the inside through a hole 6 in the tire and are held together. The end parts 5 can be connected to one another, for example, by riveting, soldering or welding.
At the exit point of the band 4 from the tire, a guided in the valve hole 7 of the rim 8 and supported on the rim deflector ss is provided, which ensures a reliable Her execution of the fastening tape 4 ge and the tire pressed by the fastening tape against the wheel rim holds on immovably. A clamping sleeve 10 is fastened to the latter by means of a screw 11 in order to secure the tape ends 5 that have been carried out. The clamping sleeve 10 is supported against a base plate 12 resting on the rim. Instead of securing the band ends 5 led out under tension with a clamp, these ends could also be turned over or twisted or screwed.
Due to the design of the longitudinal cavity 2, the fastening tape 4 and the deflection piece 8, a cutting of the fastening supply tape is avoided in the thermoplastic tire and the latter sits securely in the rim. The cavity 2 also serves to increase the elasticity of the tire.
In the embodiments according to FIGS. 3 to 5, the longitudinal cavity 2 'has a round cross-section and serves to accommodate a helical spring 13 which, as FIG. 3 shows, can be wound from flat wire or, as FIG. 1 shows, from round wire. The screw benfeder is used to hold the fastening means and also acts as a pressure distributor. In these embodiments, a metal wire (not shown) or a metal cable is expediently used as the fastening means.
The prescribed tire can be produced in large lengths using the cheap extrusion method; so that there is minimal waste. Furthermore, the tire can be safely installed on normal rims by any specialist using simple tools. The tire is particularly suitable for bicycles. but can also be used for other vehicle wheels.
