Yerfahren for the production of electric incandescent lamps with a base fused to the neck of the lamp bulb. In order to simplify and reduce the cost of the construction of electric incandescent lamps by eliminating the fusible base or the butt-fused pump tube remainder of the lamp bulb and also the base anchoring, it has already been proposed to fuse the edge of the base directly to the open neck edge of the lamp bulb,
so that the base then forms the end of the lamp vessel in place of the usual small melt-in foot or the butt-fused pump tube remainder. Two power supply wires are attached to the base, which enter the inside of the lamp and hold the lamp, namely one of these wires is welded to the inside of the base and the other is melted into a glass button located on the base bottom, which is made of the rest a vent tube that is attached to the center of the base and has melted.
Such lamps are manufactured in such a way that first the base is combined with the power supply wires and the luminous element, then the base edge is fused with the edge of the vessel neck and finally the venting is carried out by means of a tube fused to the base Melting forms a glass button that accommodates the one flow supply wire.
The invention aims to simplify the production of electric incandescent lamps with a base fused to the neck of the vessel even further and to make it cheaper. For this purpose, according to the invention, the lamp is vented within a vacuum chamber through one or more gaps left free between the base edge and the neck of the vessel, and the part of the base edge and the flask neck surrounding the gap until the glass softens, the gaps melt and fuse Base beef and flask neck heated.
The venting and melting down of lamps while in use; a Val,: nnml @ ammer accommodating the lamps is known per se, however, according to the invention, the base and lamp bulb are also fused within the vacuum chamber and this fusing process:
, the venting and final melting of the lamp are combined in one work step, the base being considerably simplified by eliminating a vent tube that is inserted and fused in a special work step.
The process of closing the ventilation gaps or the ventilation gaps can be supported by one or more springs that are arranged inside the vacuum chamber and load on the lamp bulb. The merger; of the base edge and the neck of the vessel is expediently carried out with the mediation of a high-frequency coil that closes the vacuum chamber at the height of the base edge.
In the drawing, a device for example implementation of the process is shown in section.
The base of the lamp to be produced goes below the threaded part 1 in a conical, cup-like bottom part? over, on the inner edge of which the one power supply wire 3 is welded.
A preformed glass button 5 is melted into an inwardly directed bead 4 of the base base 2, with which the rivet-like button 6 of the continuous power supply wire 7 that is tied through the glass button is connected.
At the hook-shaped bent ends 8, 9 of the two power supply wires 3 and 7, the "tendon lamp body 10 is attached, for example clamped or welded.
Between the threaded part 1 and the larger diameter cylindrical edge II of the base is an annular shoulder 12 which is positioned perpendicular to the base axis and in which several inwardly pressed, wart-like projections 1.3 are attached. are. The cap-like lamp piston 14 with the end face of its neck rests on these with a ring of play in the base edge 1.1. .
The base 1, 2 with the lamp collia 14 placed on it rests in the recess 15 of a piston-like support body 1, 6 which can move up and down.
When the sealing and venting process is carried out, an annular flange 17 attached to the support body rests against a rubber 18 which is attached to the underside of a hood-like vacuum chamber 19 that accommodates the lamp bulb 14 and the base 1, 2: is.
A spring 21 is mounted on the top wall of the vacuum chamber 19, which is provided with a venting nozzle 20, which presses the lamp bulb 14 onto the annular shoulder 12 when the lanipe is moved into the vacuum chamber 19. At the level of the base edge 11 and the flask neck, the vacuum chamber 19 is covered by an Iloehfre- quenzspule \ ?? concentric
enclosed.
Due to the play remaining between the base edge and the vessel ball and the gap remaining between the wart-like projections 13 and the piston neck face, the interior of the piston and the base are connected to the vacuum chamber.
Not only the vacuum chamber but also the interior of the lamp formed by the lamp bulb 14 and the base 1, 2 can therefore be vented by means of the venting connection 20.
'If current is supplied to the high-frequency coil 22 during the venting process or immediately afterwards with the vacuum aminer still connected to the vacuum pump, a current is induced in the base edge II, which acts as a circulating ring, whereby the preferred
ise made of a base edge consisting of a chrome-icing alloy is heated to such an extent that the flask neck enclosed by it softens and fuses with the base edge.
The bulb neck is somewhat compressed by the spring 2-1 on the bulb, the gaps between the wart-like projections 13 of the base being closed and a tight bulb closure also being achieved on the inner wall of the base.
So that tensions do not subsequently arise in the glass, the expansion coefficients of the metal used to manufacture the base and of the glass used to manufacture the lamp vessel must of course be largely equal to one another.
The production of the new lamp is expediently carried out on an intermittent rotary machine in such a way that in a first working position the power supply wire 3 is welded to the cup-like conical base base 2 and in a second working position the glass button 5 with the power supply wire 7 inserted through it melted down the base facing upwards ge, and at the same time the wire 7 is fused to the glass button.
In a third working position, the power supply wires 3, 7 are cut to the intended length and straightened and their ends flattened, while in a fourth working position the ends of the power supply wires are bent into hooks and in a fifth working position the generated ones Hooks are closed around the ends of the automatically attached "V # lantern lamp.
In a sixth working position, the vessel piston is then automatically placed on the edge of the base, for example by means of a controlled gripper or a suction cap, while in a seventh working position the base with the piston attached is moved into the vacuum chamber 19 by means of the support body 1.6.
In this working position, the lamp is then vented and at the same time melted shut by the action of the high-frequency coil. Finally, in an eighth working position, the finished lamp is moved out of the vacuum chamber and set down using a suitable gripper. The individual work processes, such as the heating of the base edge along with venting, can of course also extend in a known manner over several partial rotations of the machine.
Further working positions can also be provided on this, for example for gettering the luminous element and for attaching any sort designations and brands, as well as empty positions.
The venting and fusing process described can be used successfully not only in the manufacture of dwarf, illumination and car lamps, but also in all other lamps, in particular also in incandescent lamps for general use. The internal structure of the lamp, the shape of the lamp bulb, the luminous element and the base can be many different. For example, instead of a screw base, a pin base can also be used.
The flask neck can also grip around the base edge and be supported on projections attached to the outside of the base edge. In the latter case, support springs arranged laterally in the vacuum chamber are also used. The seal from the vacuum chamber can also be a different one. The base edge can optionally also be heated by a heating wire winding located within the vacuum chamber.
