Inner shoe brake with adjustment device for the brake key shaft and the brake shoes. Inner-shoe brakes with a brake wrench shaft that is fixedly mounted in the brake shoe carrier have the disadvantage that, due to very small, often unavoidable workshop design errors in newly installed brakes or in the case of brakes that have been worn in the factory after replacement of worn brake linings, the linings of the two brake shoes are missing at the same time come to rest on the brake drum.
As a result, only one-sided braking effect, which in many cases is insufficient for heavy loads, is achieved until the first engaging pad has been ground down by so much that the further spreading of the brake shoes made possible by this wear and the pad of the other Bak- kens can come to brake intervention on the drum.
The subject matter of the present invention is an inner shoe brake with an adjusting device for the brake key shaft and the brake shoes which aims to eliminate this disadvantage. It is characterized by a bush rotatably mounted in the brake shoe carrier, which has an eccentric, axially parallel bore in which the brake key shaft is mounted in such a way that the same by means of a Drehbewe movement of the bush from its normal position between the two brake shoe ends and push ver can be set so that, through the intermediary of the spreading elements, the brake shoes are adjusted, in which the lining of both the one and the other jaw .an or drum comes into contact and braking intervention ff.
In the drawing, the subject of the invention is illustrated, for example, on two types of inner shoe brakes, namely show: Fig. 1 and 2 show a brake in which the brake shoes are operated by means of double levers and push rods, Fig. 3 and 4 a brake in which the Brake shoes are spread by means of double cams.
In particular represent: Fig. 1 and 3 sections through the drum according to the plane I-I respectively. III-III and views of the brake shoes and spreaders, Fig. 2 and 4 sections according to the plane II-II respectively. IV-IV of the two braking systems, Fig. 5 is a section according to level II-II respectively. IV-IV through the rotating sleeve and its accessories according to one variant.
Parts of the brake system according to FIGS. 3 and 4, which correspond to those of the type according to FIGS. 1 and 4 and perform the same function, are designated with the same number, but with a pointer "'right next to the same.
On the main 1 respectively. 1 'fixed brake shoe carrier 2 respectively. 2 'is an eye 2a respectively. 2a 'attached, in the bore sen a sleeve 3 respectively. 3 'is rotatably mounted. This sleeve 3 respectively. 3 'has an eccentric, axially parallel bore 3a (Fig. 5), in which the brake key shaft 4 respectively. 4 'is stored. The brake beams 5 and 6 respectively. 5 'and 6' are on the BEZW with the brake shoe carrier 2. 2 'firmly connected pivot pins 7 and 8 respectively. 7 'and 8' for reasons explained below expediently hanging and to the vertical plane through the main 1 respectively. 1 'arranged symmetrically.
The double lever 4a, 4b and the push rods 9 and 10 with their associated pins 11, 12, 13, 14, in the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4, serve as spreading and brake release organs in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 the double cams 4a ', 4b' and the tension springs 15 'and 16'. Shaft 4 and double lever 4a, 4b respectively. Shaft 4 'and double cams 4a', 4b ', as a whole. Brake key called, are from the outside medium brake lever 17 BEZW. 17 'actuated.
The excentrically drilled sleeve 3 respectively. 3 ', called in the fol lowing eccentric bushing, is with a flange 3b BEZW. 3b 'provided, wel cher, as will be described in more detail below, is used, the eccentric bushing 3 BEZW. 3 'either to guide or to brake loosely during their rotation or finally to firmly connect them to the brake shoe carrier by screwing after they have been set, i.e. to fix them in their position. The flange 3b respectively. 3b 'has a circular cutout-shaped slot 3c respectively. 3c 'through which the eye 2b respectively. 2b 'of the brake shoe carrier firmly screwed retaining bolts 18 respectively. 18 'occurs.
The slot 3c respectively. 3c 'allows a total rotation of the sleeve 3 respectively. 3 'at a certain angle, but not more than 180 ". The eccentric bushing 3 and 3' is expediently arranged in such a way that, in its central position, the axis 4c and 4c 'of the brake key shaft 4 and 4' are perpendicular below the axis of rotation 3d or 3d 'of the eccentric bushing so that the latter is in stable equilibrium in the loose state under the weight load from the braking elements.
The operation and mode of operation of the setting device according to the invention shown in Fig. 1 and 2 are as follows: Before putting a new brake into operation or after equipping the shoes with new brake linings, nut 19 and lock nut 20 (Fig. 2) are determined in such a way that the Eccentric bushing 3 is held in the axial direction, but remains loosely rotatable about its axis. If the brake lever 1-7 is now tightened, then only the brake shoe 5 with its lining 5a on the drum 21 comes to rest firmly through the intermediary of the spreading elements.
With further rotation of the lever 17 in the direction of the drawn arrow 22 F (Fi (, -. 1), the pivot pin 11 acts as a fixed support and axis of rotation for the push rod 9, the pivot pin 12 as a movable axis of rotation for the double lever 4a, 4b, and it is easy to see (let this double lever under the effect of the torque in relation to Fig. 1 experience a left turn, whereby the brake key shaft 4 deviates to the right, which can only happen
if you see its axis 4c centered around the center axis 3d of the eccentric bushing, whereby this (3) executes a left turn, the push rod 10 is moved to the right and thereby the brake shoe 6 with its lining 6a also to the firm contact Drum 21 is brought.
In the case of the type of inner-shoe brake illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, the device according to the invention acts very similarly to the brake described above. If, for example, only the brake shoe 5 'with its lining 5a' has come to rest on the brake drum 21 'after the brake actuation has been initiated, the contact line of the cam 4ä on the slideway 5b' of the brake shoe 5 'becomes the current axis of rotation of the cam 4a '. Upon further rotation of the lever 17 'in the direction of the arrow 22', the brake key shaft 4 'has to move to the right with respect to FIG. 3, which can only happen if the eccentric bushing 3' surrounding it rotates to the left.
In the process, the cam 4b 'moves to the right, the existing brake shoes 6' in contact with it rotating to the left about its axis of rotation 8 'until its lining 6ä also comes into firm contact with the drum 21'.
Is the right brake shoe 6 BEZW first when the brake is actuated. 6 'to the drum, the setting of the left jaw 5 respectively. 5 'in the same way as previously described, the brake key shaft with respect to FIG. 1 BEZW. 3 is shifted to the left and the eccentric bushing rotates to the right.
The brakes of the two types described act with loosely rotatable eccentric bushing in both directions of rotation of the drums, so when the vehicle is in forward and reverse, as so-called servo brakes. When the brake drum is rotated, for example in the direction of arrow 23 in FIG. 1, the braking friction acting on the lining 5a on the jaw 5 generates a counterclockwise torque about the pivot pin 7, which, acting via the spreading members and the loose eccentric bushing 3, increases the pressure kes of the baking 6 to the drum causes.
The loose eccentric bushing is in the equilibrium position when the brake is actuated, with the pressures exerted by the brake wrench on the two brake shoes being compensated. When the drum is rotated in the opposite direction as before, the jaws swap the roles with regard to the servo effect, in that the right-turning frictional torque on the jaw 6, transmitted in the same way by the spreading elements, increases the contact pressure of the jaw 5 on the drum works.
The symmetrical to the vertical plane through the main axis 1 hanging brake shoes 5 and 6 have when releasing the brake, the endeavor to collapse against the main axis. The repercussions of their weights on the brake wrench and its bearing, the eccentric bushing, are directed in the same way and in opposite directions, so cancel each other out so that there is no adjustment force acting back on the eccentric bushing. The Ex zenterbüchse therefore normally remains in its central position at rest, and the released brake pads have approximately the same play from the drum friction surface.
In vehicles that are exposed to strong vibrations or which experience great accelerations and decelerations in their movement, if the eccentrics, bushings and the brake are released, the brake shoes could cause their mass action to swing and their linings to hit the drum come.
To prevent this, the eccentric bushing can be seen with a friction brake acting on its rotational movement, the braking force of which is such that it is sufficient on the one hand to prevent the eccentric bushing from rotating under the action of the above-mentioned mass acceleration and deceleration forces On the other hand, however, this braking force is overcome by the greater forces that occur retroactively when the brake lever (17 or 17 ') is pulled onto the eccentric bushing, so that the latter (3 and 3') follow suit in this case Can rotate and adjust as required.
When releasing the brake shoes, the eccentric bushing is held under the influence of its brake mentioned in the last section in the position held when the shoes are in contact with the drum, whereby a simultaneous lifting and re-engagement of both shoes by BEZW. on the drum, furthermore the same ventilation play on both sides it is aimed at.
An embodiment of such an eccentric brake is shown in the application, for example, in the inner shoe brake according to FIGS. 3 and 4. The compression spring 24 ', through the intermediary of the washer 25', presses the flange 3b 'of the eccentric bushing 3' against the end faces of the eyes 2a ',? B' of the brake shoe carrier 2 ', as a result of which frictional forces arise on the guide surfaces of the flange 3b' on both sides, which the Ex inhibit the rotation of the center sleeve.
By means of the nut 19 'and the lock nut 20' on the bolt 18 ', the spring can be tightened more or less strongly, the spring force respectively. regulate the frictional forces on flange 3b 'and permanently secure their set size.
If the expansion members are dimensioned and arranged in the described types of inner shoe brakes in such a way that when the brake key shaft rotates, the brake bars when moving among themselves -,], or only describe an extremely slightly different angle of rotation, then appropriate measures are taken taken, which make it possible to connect the eccentric bushing with the brake shoe carrier firmly after the brake shoes have been placed on both sides of the drum and thereby fix them in their position. The aim of these measures is to achieve the same amount of wear as possible on the brake pads in the company. When the eccentric bushing is fixed, the brakes work without servo action.
According to FIG. 2, the eccentric bushing 3 can be fixed by tightening the nuts 19, 20. Fig. 5 shows in section an eccentric brake of a similar type as described above, in which, however, the eccentric sleeve can both only be braked and fixed. The pressure plate 25 "and the spring plate 26" are provided with bushes 27 and 28 guided on the bolt 18 ", the free end faces 27a and 28a of which are spaced apart as long as the device serves as a friction brake, which, however, if the nuts are screwed down sufficiently 19 and 20 come to rest on top of each other.
so that ver may the intermediate clamping of the sleeves 27 and 28 between flange 3b and nuts, the flange 3b of the eccentric bushing on the brake jaw carrier 2 screwed and thereby the eccentric bushing can be fixed.
The equipped with the setting device according to the invention Innenbackenbrem sen can either be used permanently as Servobrem sen or only when driving new brake pads, and then, after this has been done enough, the Exzen terbüchse is fixed.
