Seal for rolling bearings against leakage of lubricant and against entry of dust, water and the like: The invention relates to a seal for rolling bearings against leakage of the .Lubricant and against entry of dust, what water and the like with a resilient membrane disc, the free edge of which is lowered rests right on the sealing surface and consists in
that at least one membrane disk is provided and that sealing edges are arranged one behind the other in the axial direction and include a chamber between them. This results in a better and more secure seal. Grease can penetrate into this from the inside and a small amount of dust from the outside without any harmful effect occurring at this point.
On the contrary, there is an advantageous effect insofar as the dust and dirt are retained by the fat in this room. This effect can be increased by filling the intermediate chamber with sealing grease from the start. It is particularly useful to let the device edges run in a concentric groove, because this also forms a labyrinth seal.
For easier attachment, two mem branes can be provided, which are clamped at one and the same point. They then diverge towards the sealing surfaces. One membrane is advantageously designed in the shape of a plate ring.
A particularly expedient embodiment is that only a single membrane is used, which is U-shaped in cross-section and springs in the axial direction. It has cylindrical parts on both edges, which act as sealing edges and press against sealing surfaces perpendicular to the axis.
This membrane can spring outwards and press the sealing edges in opposite directions against the sealing surfaces arranged outside the membrane; however, the membrane can also spring inward and accommodate the sealing surfaces between it. Here too, the chamber enclosed by the membrane can be filled with a sealing grease.
In the drawing, the subject of the invention is len .darstellung in several Ausführungsbeispie.
1 shows a bearing with two diaphragms, FIG. 2 shows the diaphragm enlarged in section, FIG. 3 shows another exemplary embodiment with two diaphragms, FIG. 4, the diaphragm according to FIG. 3 enlarged in section, FIG. 5 shows a exposed membrane with two oppositely directed sealing edges, Fig. 6 shows the membrane according to Fig. 5 enlarged in section, Fig. 7 shows a further embodiment of the exposed membrane, Fig. 8 two membranes with upstream ter labyrinth seal.
According to FIG. 1, 1 is the rotating shaft on which the inner race 2 for the rolling elements 3 is seated. This presses the Mem branes 4 _ and 5, which lie one behind the other in the axial direction, against a shoulder 6 of the shaft 1 and holds it in place. The roller bearing is sealed against the escape of lubricant and the entry of dust, water and the like by the membranes 4, 5. The membrane 5 lies with its sealing edge 7 perpendicular to the end face of the outer race 8, which is attached to the bearing body 9. The membrane 4 is formed in the shape of a plate ring and has a sealing edge 10 running in the same direction as the sealing edge 7, which slides vertically on the base surface 11 of a groove 12. The chamber 13 formed between the two membranes is filled with a sealing grease.
At 14, the two Mem branes 4 and 5 are welded together.
In Fig. 3, the bearing of the hub 15 of a wheel is shown, the bearing being closed by the cap 16 and the outer race 17 being held at the same time. The inner race 18 sits on the axis 19 and is pressed tightly by the washer 20 and the screw 21, the membranes 4 and 5 being clamped at the same time who the. These are designed in a manner similar to that of FIGS. 1 and 2.
According to FIG. 5, the inner race 23 for the rolling elements 24 is wedged on the shaft 22, while the outer race 25 is firmly connected to the bearing element 26. The cover 27 , which has a concentric groove 28, forms the outer closure. Likewise, there is a groove 30 on a flange-like approach 29 of the race 23. Both grooves are facing each other with their open Be. On their bottom runs respectively an edge 31 respectively. 32 of the U-shaped free, that is to say not clamped in place, membrane 33. The resilience of the membrane 33 presses the sealing edges 31, 32 outwards against the base of the grooves. The overpressure acts in the bearing.
The grooves are used to center the free running membrane; together with the sealing edge they form a labyrinth seal. A groove is sufficient for centering, the other running surface can remain smooth. The centering by other means with tel, z. B. a shoulder on the sealing surface or a bead touching the inner circumference of the membrane. If two grooves are arranged, one is kept slightly wider than the other in order to have play for mutual displacement and to facilitate insertion.
The membrane according to FIG. 7 is designed similarly to that according to FIG. 6, only it has a cylindrical, non-resilient middle part 34, to which flat parts 35, 36 adjoin, which take over the suspension.
Fig. 8 corresponds to the embodiment according to Fig. 1, only the plate-ring-shaped Mem brane 4 is replaced by a disc-shaped membrane 37 which runs approximately perpendicular to the axis and protrudes into a groove 38; a labyrinth seal is formed through this. This keeps some of the contaminants such as dust, water and the like from the actual sealing edge 7. The Kam mer 13 formed between the two sealing points is filled with fat.
