Installation on lathe beds to protect the support guide and the support drive mechanism. In the previous lathes, the drive mechanism for the support as well as the support guide is very heavily worn; exposed, which is an inevitable consequence of mechanical impurities, such as chips, penetration between the moving parts. This wear and tear results in reduced machining accuracy, especially if effective lubrication is not provided.
However, there are already various protection devices for the guideways and the lead screw and tension spindle of a lathe have been proposed. Overhanging protective surfaces were provided on the bed body, over which the chips can be guided away. The guideway to be protected respectively. The guide or tension spindle must be arranged under this protective surface. There. but in this case the space containing the parts to be protected is open at the bottom, the sensitive parts cannot be completely protected with this measure.
Furthermore, protective strips or protective rulers for the guide surfaces are known, which are adapted to the shape of the parts to be protected and just rest on the guide surfaces. These protective strips or rulers must be slidably arranged so that the back and forth mobility of the longitudinal slide is not impaired.
Finally, covers for the guides are also known, which consist of flexible bands which are wound up and unwound on rollers during the movement of the support. With all of these devices, however, an adequate protective effect cannot be achieved and, moreover, they often impair the proper lubrication of the guides and the tension and lead screw. They also have the disadvantage that in the covered space,
which is seen as well protected and as a result is often neglected when cleaning the machine, impurities such as chips, cleaning threads and the like accumulate to a greater extent than before. In this case, the opposite of the intended purpose is achieved, and all the more so since these protective spaces usually make access to the protected parts difficult for the purpose of lubrication and monitoring.
The present invention relates to a device on lathe beds to protect the support guide and the sup port drive mechanism. The invention be is that on the lathe bed at least one over the entire guide part of the bed extending channel for receiving the support guide and the support drive mechanism is provided, which channel is covered by a cover consisting of telescopically mutually displaceable parts, the whole thing that a closed space forming the channel is formed.
The mentioned disadvantages of the known protection devices for the support drive mechanism and the management of the support in lathes can be eliminated by the Einrich device according to the invention, since the channel provides good protection for these parts, which increases the durability and accuracy of the machine The consequence is that the products are more accurate, which is one of the most fundamental requirements in production.
If a front and a rear support guide are present, two such channels are advantageously provided, one of which, lying on the front of the lathe bed, the front guide of the support and the support drive mechanism, and the other on the rear of the lathe bed, the rear guide of the support takes up.
These channels can be designed as oil containers for circulating lubrication, so that all parts stored in them are supplied with lubricating oil. Care can also be taken that any water that has penetrated into these channels is excreted again.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject invention is illustrated. 1 shows a diagrammatic representation of a lathe with the device, and FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the bed of this lathe.
With 1 the bed of the lathe eats, with 2 its headstock, with 3 its tailstock and with 4 its support. At the front of the bed 1 a closed on both sides part 5 is arranged, which together with the front wall of the bed 1 over the entire length of the bed it forms a stretching channel. At the back of the bed 1, a also over the entire length of the bed 1 extending to set 6 is cast, which together with the rear wall of the bed 1 also forms a channel.
The shape of the part 5 and the extension 6 are adapted to the bed 1 of the lathe in such a way that they form a pleasing whole with the other parts of the lathe. The prismatic channel (15) formed by the part 5 and the front wall of the bed 1 is covered by a cover 7, which enables the support 4 to be displaced longitudinally.
is formed telescopically against each other sliding parts, covered, and the channel 16 formed by the approach 6 and the rear wall of the bed 1 is covered by a cover 7 'also formed from telescopically movable parts from one another. The channel 15 formed by the oil-tight and detachable part 5 attached to the bed 1 and the front wall of the bed 1 takes the support drive mechanism to which the lead screw 8, the tension spindle 9, the rack 10 for moving the support 4 ,
the associated gear 11 and also the support guide 12 on. The channel 16 formed by the extension 6 cast on the bed 1 and the rear wall of the bed 1 encloses the rear support guide 12 '.
The covers 7 respectively. 7 'are designed so that one of the telescopic parts that can be displaced relative to one another is fastened on both sides to the support and: the outermost of these parts are fastened to the ends of the channels 15 and 16 on the bed 1. Between these on the one hand at support 4 and. on the other hand attached to the bed 1 parts are connected between other parts.
When the support is displaced, these parts slide over one another on one side, while they are pulled apart on the other side of the support 4. The length of these telescopically displaceable parts relative to one another is dimensioned such that the channels 15 and 16 are completely covered in all cases, so that the spaces mentioned always remain closed.
From the covers 7 and: 7 'read in this way a shift of the support without Wei teres, but prevent the penetration of impurities and water into the channels, which take the parts to be protected. The joint surfaces respectively. End faces of the parts of these covers 7 and 7 'are correspondingly profiled for this purpose and sealed with suitable sealing material, for example felt.
Advantageously, the front channel 15 formed by the part 5 and the front wall of the bed 1 is extended to under the headstock 2, so that it extends not only over the part of the bed that has the guides, and it also takes the Switching plate for the gearbox of the spindle box and the gearbox for the support drive mechanism.
Both channels 15 and 16 are designed at the same time as oil containers for the circulating lubrication, which is provided by an oil pump (not shown) which, if necessary, can also be accommodated in one of the channels 15 or 16 together with the oil filter.
The lubrication is expediently effected in such a way that the oil is first pumped into the channel 16 arranged at the rear of the bed 1, from where it, after flowing over the slide guide 12 'of the support 4, through a collecting channel connecting the two channels to the front the machine is derived.
The oil now flows over the guide 12, the guide spindle 8 and the remaining parts of the support drive mechanism, which are mounted in the channel 15 located on the front side of the bed 1, also in the entire length. As a result of the movement of the parts of the drive, the oil is splashed around in this front channel 15, so that all parts are abundantly provided with oil which is constantly in circulation.
An oil filter through which the oil must pass is advantageously connected upstream of the oil pump. The channel formed by the part 5 and, the front wall of the bed 15 can also be seen with a known device for separating water that has penetrated about with ver.
