Device for the heat treatment of goods of various kinds, in particular for burning cement, alkaline earth carbonates, e.g. B. lime, magnesite and dolomite. The invention relates to a device for the heat treatment of goods of various types, in particular for burning cement, alkaline earth carbonates, for example lime, magnesite and Dolo: with which has a traveling grate, a downstream rotary kiln, and a glass cooler and in which the Items to be treated on the traveling grate through the exhaust gases: the rotary kiln is heated.
Bodies: of this type are also under the. The term "grate rotary kiln" is known. In this case, the exhaust gases leave a short rotary kiln at a temperature of around 900'C in order to then be directed into a room which is arranged above a traveling grate. These gases are then passed through an artificial layer of granulated raw material on the traveling grate.
In the first known designs of such a resting oven: the space above the traveling grate was not divided in any way, so that the evaporation of the granules with a moisture content of about 12% in this room resulted from the effect of the still very hot exhaust gases from the rotary kiln happened very quickly. The consequence of this was that, depending on the strength of the granules, a greater or lesser percentage of them burst under the action of the vapor tension.
This resulted in the disadvantageous effect that the gas permeability of the raw material layer fell very sharply, which resulted in an increased expenditure of power for the generation of the artificial train, or a strong reduction in the production. In addition, the exhaust gases leaving the traveling grate resulted in a very high level of dust.
To counter these inconveniences, it has therefore already been proposed to divide the space above the traveling grate into two chambers. In one of these chambers, the so-called drying chamber, who the exhaust gas of the furnace, the temperature of which, as already mentioned, is about 900 C, mixed with such an amount of cold air that a mixing temperature of about 300 C is created. At this temperature, the bursting of the granules, if not completely eradicated, is at least reduced to a tolerable level.
The granules, which have been largely pre-dried in this way, enter the second chamber, the so-called preheating chamber, provided above the traveling grate, where they no longer disintegrate under the action of the furnace gases at 900 C. In such a grate rotary kiln, however, significant amounts of cold air are required; In the most favorable case, this has to be the same as the amount of gas which comes from the combustion of the coal dust and from the raw material, while under certain circumstances it can make up twice or more that amount of gas.
From a thermal economic point of view, this has the disadvantage that the cold air to be supplied has to be heated to the mean exhaust gas temperature below the pre-drying chamber, i.e. normally from around 20 to 80 C. However, this results in a loss of heat of 40 to 60 WE / kg clinker , or from 4 to 6% of the heating requirement of the furnace.
It is also known that it is difficult to effectively protect the combustion zone of the rotary kiln and the part of the jack cooler exposed to the higher temperatures against radiation losses for reasons of material technology. The economic utilization of this radiant heat for the improvement of the firing process has not yet been successful, so that it is lost.
This has a very negative effect on the economic operation of the furnace, as the loss item caused by radiation is the largest of the individual loss items that can be considered.
The purpose of the invention is now to both eliminate the disadvantages that had to be accepted with the traveling grates up to now, and to enable the utilization of radiant heat that was previously lost in the burning process.
For this purpose, an auxiliary dryer is connected upstream of the traveling grate in a device of the type mentioned above, in which heat radiating from the kiln and in the hottest part of the latch is used, so that the traveling grate only accrues dried granules. The auxiliary dryer can expediently be designed as a traveling grate.
Such is much cheaper than a traveling grate, in which the space above the grate is divided into two rooms, since the former does not experience temperatures of a height that would make the use of heat-resistant building materials ver long. Furthermore, since the temperature above the grate of such an auxiliary dryer is in any case below 200 ° C., the granules do not burst.
In a device according to the invention, the air to be sucked through the grate of the auxiliary dryer contains little or practically no dust, so that no blanket of dust forms on the layer of granules and this layer therefore remains permanently permeable to gas. A low negative pressure is therefore sufficient to suck the required amount of air through the layer of moist material.
Since the radiation losses of the rotary kiln in the area of the combustion zone and in the hot part of the cooler amount to around 150 WE / kg clinker based on measurements, this amount of heat is sufficient, even taking into account the heat losses, to largely dry the raw material. A device according to the present invention therefore has a heat economy that is more than 10% better than the rotary grate furnace of the known type.
In the accompanying drawing, an example embodiment of a device according to the invention for burning cement is illustrated in a simplified manner. It shows: FIG. 1 a longitudinal section through the various parts of the device and FIG. 2 a section along the line II-II of FIG.
From a silo 1, Granahen get continuously on the traveling grate 2 of an auxiliary dryer 3, in connection with -dem a suction fan 4 is provided for generating an artificial train. 5 denotes a rotary kiln, 6 a latch cooler and 7 a designed as a traveling grate before warmer, under the grate the fan 4 can also generate a negative pressure. The material to be treated is conveyed in the direction of the arrows A in sequence through the auxiliary dryer 3, preheating 7, rotary kiln 5 and finally through the latch cooler 6.
Fresh air also enters this in the direction of arrow B and, after it has been preheated, reaches the area of a burner 8. C denotes the direction in which the exhaust gases and the gases originating from the raw material leave the rotary kiln 5. 9 denotes an auxiliary chimney, which is used when the facility is started up.
Both the rotary kiln 5 and the hotter part of the latch cooler 6 are each of a sheet metal housing 10 respectively. 11 surrounded. These housings 10 and 11 are betzw with a longitudinal slot 12 below. 13 provided and they also have slidable, an Inspek tion of the feed of the furnace 5 respectively. the Klin kenkühlers 6 enabling flaps 14 (Fig. 2). Both -the space 15 between the rotary kiln 5 and sheet metal housing 10, as well as the space 16 between the jack cooler 6 and sheet metal housing 11 is connected by a line 14 with the space above the traveling grate 2 of the auxiliary dryer 3.
The through the slots 12 and 13 in the spaces 15 BEZW. 16 fresh air sucked in is heated by the heat which radiates outwards at the rotary kiln 5 and in the hotter part of the latch cooler 6, the heat exchange being carried out by ribs 17 provided on these parts 5, 6. 18 is funded. The air, which is by no means heated to over 200 C in this way, is then sucked through the layer of granules located on the traveling grate 2, whereby it is gently
that is, without causing the grains to burst, the drying of which causes them. The material dried in this way reaches the preheating unit 7, where it passes through the rotary kiln 5 with a temperature of. about 90W C auciströmenden gases, which the blower 4 through the traveling grate dies.eis preheater 7 is sucked through, is further heated before it, in the usual way,
enters furnace 5.
For the sake of completeness, it should also be mentioned that 19 denotes dust funnels which are used to collect solids that arise from the traveling grate 2 and the traveling grate of the preheater 7. This dust funnel 19 are under the same negative pressure as the traveling grids.
Under certain circumstances, the auxiliary dryer and the preheating can each be assigned a special device for generating an induced draft. The provision of two .suction draft fans comes mainly then. in question if the same pressure differences are not to be processed in relation to the auxiliary dryer and the preheating.
