Fig. 3 zeigt einen fertigen Stab.
Fig. 5 zeigt in Endansicht den fertig be wickelten Kern.
Method and apparatus for making flexible plates and winding them into hollow rods. The invention relates to a method and a device for the production of flexible seed plates and for winding dersel ben into hollow rods. Such rods can be used for ski poles, for example.
According to the method according to the invention, a weight-loaded fabric web is used to wind the flexible plate.
To carry out the method according to the invention, a device also forming the subject of the invention is used, which has a weight-loaded web of fabric that is guided over two driven conveyor rollers, such that between these a downward-reaching loop of the web of fabric for receiving a core, as well as the The flexible plate to be wound around the core can be formed.
The method and the device according to the invention are not dependent on any particular type of core for winding up the flexible plate. One can. Use a metal core that can be taken out when the rod is finished, or you can use a core in the form of a series of small reinforcing plugs or rings that can be spaced apart from each other and form ribs in the rod. Such a core serves to a large extent to strengthen the rod without significantly increasing its weight.
An example embodiment of the device according to the invention for performing the method according to the invention is shown in the drawing. It shows: FIG. 1, viewed schematically from above, the device.
Fig. 2 shows the same device seen from the side.
Fig. 3 shows a finished rod. Fig. 4 shows on a larger scale in an end view like a non-wound plate.
Fig. 5 shows an end view of the finished core being wound.
Fig. 6 shows one edge of a pliable sheet with some core pieces brought into place prior to winding.
1 and 2 denote two rollers mounted parallel to one another, which are driven in the same direction to wind a flexible plate and which can be moved horizontally against one another and away from one another. 3 shows a heavy cylinder, which may possibly be subject to extra weight, and which is in the loop of a web of fabric 4, z. B. a ceiling, which runs over the two rollers 1 and 2. 6 denotes the flexible, z. B. from artificial fiber products, paper or veneer best existing plate, and 7 is the core around which the plate is to be wrapped.
The position shown in Figs. 1 and 2 is the one in which the various parts are to be found immediately after the core 7 and the plate 6 have been put in place for the start of winding, and between the two conveyor rollers 1, 2 a downward-reaching loop 5 of the ceiling 4 has been formed. If the winding of the plate 6 is to take place, the rollers 1 and 2 are brought closer to one another and, as shown by arrows 8 and 9, set in motion.
The ceiling 4 pulls the plate 6 touching it down, and this wraps around the core 7; and if the plate 6 is previously provided with an appropriate adhesive, a hollow rod is formed. In this way an even winding of the board is achieved, the layers of which are firmly pressed against each other and glued together.
To the side of the rollers 1 and 2, a shaft 10 provided with a screw thread 11 is provided. Furthermore, a shaft 12 is provided on which a spool of thread 13 is slidably mounted ver, which role has a control finger 14 which engages between the threads 11 of the shaft 10 Ge. A thread 15 is passed from the thread reel 13 between the rollers 1 and 2.
When the rollers 1, 2 and the shaft 10 rotate, the thread spool 13 moves in the direction from left to right, while at the same time the cord 15 is wound helically around the finished rod 16, as can be seen from FIG. As soon as the cord is wrapped around the rod, the flexible plate can no longer loosen, so that the rod can be removed from the device and the production of a new rod can begin.
4 shows an expedient embodiment of a core 7 '. This core consists of small short pieces and is provided with an axially extending slot 17 which serves to receive the edge 18 (Fix. 6) of the flexible plate 6 before the winding begins.
It is therefore bent during the winding up of the plate and wrapped around the like 7 ', as shown in FIG. These small short core pieces 7 'form reinforcement ribs in the finished rod and are of great importance for increasing the strength and elasticity of the rod.
When veneer material is used to make the flexible panels, the difficulty is encountered. that the veneer panels often break when being rolled up. in other words, that they are not flexible enough. It is also important in the manufacture of hollow rods from veneer panels that the thickness of the veneer is reduced in such a way that winding can easily take place. It has now been shown that a veneer panel which has been subjected to rolling prior to being wound on, has a far greater flexibility than a non-rolled veneer panel.
At the same time it has been shown that this rolling can take place to such an extent that two or more layers of thin veneer panels can be laid on top of each other without difficulty and they can be rolled so thinly that this veneer material easily wraps leaves. It has also been shown that the starting material, the size of which for practical reasons is particularly limited in length, can be made into larger pieces by overlapping and gluing together, e.g.
B. to pieces of up to four meters in length, can be put together. Such plates can be given such a strength that these plates can be used as pipes for water lines.
In the manufacture of such panels, the procedure is that after several sheets of veneer panels are glued together by overlapping, if necessary in several layers, the same by a rolling mill. be performed, which carries out rolling to such a large extent that any unevenness in the overlapping parts is eliminated. The flexible plates obtained in this way are then wound up to form hollow rods in the manner described.
Tests have shown that, for example, two veneers with a thickness of 0.8 mm can be placed on top of one another, if necessary with the fibers crossing each other, whereupon this composite veneer plate is passed through a rolling mill, where its thickness of 1.6 mm is mm is decreased. Such a material with a thickness of 1 mm can even be used for the production of relatively thin rods, such as ski sticks, etc.
It has also been shown that a reinforcement made of one or more layers can be attached to the rolled veneer material before it is rolled up into bars. The reinforcement can consist, for example, of a thin steel sheet, the width of which is, for example, slightly larger than the circumference of the rod to be produced, and the length of which speaks ent for the entire length of the rod. Winding up such a reinforced plate greatly increases the elasticity and resistance of the finished rod.
