Process for the preparation of a primary disazo dye. It has been found that new technically valuable primary disazo dyes are obtained if monoazo dyes, which are obtained by combining diazo compounds with peri-aminooxynaphthalenesulfonic acids in acidic solution, with diazo compounds of amines of the following general formula:
EMI0001.0008
where R, an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical R2 is an alkyl, aralkyl or cycloalkyl radical, R3 is hydrogen, methyl or alkoxy and R ", R2 and R3 should together contain at least 12 carbon atoms, combined in neutral or alkaline solution.
The black dyeings produced with these dyes on animal fibers, such as wool, silk or artificial fibers based on casein, are distinguished by their particularly good wash, sweat, seawater and decade fastness. They also have good lightfastness. In most cases, the dyes move very well from a neutral bath to the animal fiber and, despite the large molecule, generally have them, especially as far as they differ from 1-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-3. Derive 6-disulfonic acid, good solubility in water.
The technical value of the dyes available lies in the combination of these very good properties.
The diazo components of the above formula used for the present process can, according to procedures known per se, for example by the action of aliphatic or cycloaliphatic carboxylic acid halides on nitroaminobenzote, which are substituted in the amino group by an alkyl, aralkyl or cycloalkyl radical, and reduction the so produced nitro compounds, e-,
be run away. You can also implement alkyl 1- or cycloalkyl aminobenzenes with the abovementioned carboxylic acid halides, nitrate the acyl derivatives obtained and then reduce the nitro compounds.
The present patent now relates to a process for the preparation of a primary disazo dye, characterized in that the diazo compound of 1-amino -? - chlorobenzene in an acidic medium with 1-amino-8-oxynaplitbalin-3,6-disulfonic acid and the thus obtained -.Nlonoazofarlr substance combined in an alkaline medium with the diazo compound of 1-amino -4 -N-cyeloliexyl-laurinyl-aminobenzene.
The disazo dye thus obtained is a dark powder that dissolves in water with blue, in concentrated sulfuric acid with black color and dyes wool or silk from acidic or neutral baths in blue-black shades. The dyeings are very good mill, seawater, sweat, decay and lightfast.
Example: A mineral acid solution of 31.9 parts of 1-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid is combined with a diazo solution prepared from 13 parts of 1-amino-2-chlorobenzene . When the formation of the monoazo dye has ended, it is brought into solution by adding excess sodium bicarbonate or sodium bicarbonate.
A diazo solution prepared from 37.2 'files 1-amino-4-N-cyelohexyl-lauririyl-aminobenzene is slowly run into this solution at about 5-10 ". The disazo dye is formed immediately and separates out.
