La fig. 1 montre le distributeur-doseur dans son ensemble en élévation;
La fig. 2 représente, à plus grande
échelle, le doseur-en coupe verticale;
La fig. 3 montre le cylindre en plan du
dessous;
La fig. 4 montre le distributeur en plan
du dessous;
La fig. 5 est une coupe suivant la ligne
A-B de la fig. 1.
Liquid dispenser-doser.
There are various liquid dispensing devices for the purpose of withdrawing a liquid from a container of a certain capacity to transfer it into a small capacity container: cup or other.
These devices are made in different ways and use, among other things, an air pump acting on the liquid to force it into the small container.
Theoretically, in these devices, the quantity of liquid to be withdrawn is determined by the stroke of the piston, but, in practice, it is quite different. Indeed, by virtue of the compressibility of the gases, if the quantities withdrawn are exact when the receptacle is full, it is not the same when the receptacle is half empty, because the discharged air occupies a larger volume and its pressure on the liquid being less efficient, the quantities withdrawn are no longer exact.
Other devices also use a suction pump and pumping the liquid.
In these, the quantity withdrawn is exact, and determined by the stroke of the piston, but the piping is quite long, and it happens, especially for viscous liquids, that these end up obstructing the piping.
The dispenser-metering device according to the invention comprises an air pump and an adjustable capacity metering device, the air pump being arranged to deliver the liquid into the metering device in order to fill it to the capacity provided during each dispensing operation.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention:
Fig. 1 shows the dispenser-metering unit as a whole in elevation;
Fig. 2 represents, to greater
scale, metering-in vertical section;
Fig. 3 shows the cylinder in plan of the

Fig. 4 shows the distributor in plan
from below;
Fig. 5 is a cut along the line
A-B of fig. 1.
Referring to the drawing, 1 is a base surmounted by a column 2 enclosing the air pump 3 and its piping 4.
Column 2 has, at its upper part, a horizontal arm 5 at the end of which is fixed the metering device 6 supported, in addition, by means of a rod 7 resting on the base 1.
The horizontal arm 5 contains a connector 8 with ball 9 for retaining the liquid. This connection is extended downwards by a tube 10 which enters the receptacle 11 containing the liquid to be withdrawn.
This tube 10 is crushed in the stopper 12 to allow the passage of a small tube 13 connected to the piping 4 of the pump 3. The metering device 6 comprises a cylinder 14 in two parts inside which a piston 15 moves, subjected to the pressure of a spring 16. The rod 17 of the piston 15 slides in a threaded tube 18 to be screwed into the upper part of the cylinder 14. A nut 19 blocks the tube 18 on the cylinder 14 and the tube comprises, in furthermore, a pin 20 at its upper part which cooperates with an adjustable stopper 21 provided at the upper part of the rod 17.
The cylinder 14 has at its lower part a vertical channel 22, opposite to another channel 23 connected, on the one hand, to the connector 8 and opening, on the other hand, into a circular channel 24. Under the two orifices 22 and 23 is arranged the rotary distributor consisting of a disc 25 also comprising a partially circular channel 26 intended to connect the channel 22 to the circular channel 24. The distributor 25 also has a nozzle 27 for the flow of the liquid and an operating handle 28. In addition, the rotation of the distributor is limited by a slot 29 cooperating with a screw 30.
The different doses to be dispensed are regulated by the cooperation of the stop 21, of the pin 20 and of the adjustable sheath 18. In fact, the large dose will be obtained by removing the pin 20, which will allow the piston 15 to 'use your entire upstroke.
The intermediate doses will be obtained by the displacement of the tube 18 and by the adjustment of the stopper 21, cooperating, in this case, with the pin 20.
To withdraw the liquid, the distributor 25 is moved so as to connect the conduits 22 and 24 via the channel 26, then the pump 3 is actuated, which has the effect of injecting air into the receptacle 11. This air makes pressure on the liquid which rises in the tube 10, lifts the ball 9, passes through the fitting 8 and in the channel 23 then, through the channel 24, enters the channel 26 and in the duct 22 to lift the piston 15 up to that it is stopped by the stops. Only then do you feel resistance to the pump and stop pumping. The distributor 25 is rotated to communicate the channel 22 with the nozzle 27 and the liquid flows pushed by the piston 15, itself influenced by the spring 16.
