Filling head for gas generators. The invention relates to a filling head for gas generators, on the tapered lower part of which a filling opening is provided which is closed ver by a conical valve body, which can be pressed against the edge of this opening and lifted from it again.
If such filling heads are filled with lumpy coal and coal dust, which is almost always present in it, and the filling opening is then exposed when the gas generator is sent by lifting the valve body, the coal in the middle of the gas generator will fall through it, where the coal dust, as a result of a Even segregation according to the mass of the individual coal pieces remains in the middle of the producer, while the larger pieces of coal slide down over the embankment of the coal dust according to the circumference of the producer.
This achieves a particularly advantageous distribution of the charged coal in that the air, which is blown in, for example, through a nozzle-like central grate customary in modern gas generators, and whose speed gradually decreases with increasing distance from the center of the gas generator to the outside, on its Ways after circumference encountered a gradually decreasing resistance.
The result of this measure is that the charged coal is completely and evenly gasified over the entire gas generator cross-section.
The known filling heads of this type, however, have the disadvantage that the loading mechanism of the valve body is in the coal, so that when it moves, the resistance of the coal must first be overcome, with the grains of coal being damaged.
According to the invention, these disadvantages are to be remedied in that the valve body is attached to an inner cylinder with a vertical axis, which can also be pushed up and down by a movement device in a stationary outer cylinder with a vertical axis, which is separated from the interior of the filling head intended for receiving the fuel.
The movement device can consist of a rack attached to the inner cylinder and a tooth segment engaging in this, which can be operated from the outside by a lever linkage stored in the filling head and connected to the outer cylinder by a cabinet separated from the fuel chamber.
The movement device can, however, also be of a hydraulic or pneumatic type and consist of a cylinder and a piston arranged in it, the piston forming the stationary and the cylinder forming the movable structural part.
In the drawing, two execution examples of the filling head according to the inven tion are shown, which differ from each other essentially only in the formation of the moving device.
Fig. 1 is a vertical longitudinal section of the first embodiment and Fig. 2 is a section along line II-II of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a vertical longitudinal section of the other embodiment in the GE closed position of the valve and Fig. 4 is the same section of the example in the open position dea valve.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the cylindrical filling head 1 is fastened with its flange 2 to the cover 4 of the gas generator 3 in the usual manner. The filling head is blocked by a lid 5 with a water lock, which can be raised and pivoted by means of a weight-loaded arm 6.
The lower part 7 of the filling head protruding into the filling tube 10 is frustoconical and ends in an edge 9 which surrounds the filling opening 8. The latter is closed by a conical valve body 11 which rests on the inner surface of the edge 9, which is designed as a conical seat. The valve body 11 is attached to a cylinder 12 which, in a cylinder 13, which, for.
B. is held in the filling head by means of arms 27, can be pushed up and down by the movement device described below. The cylinder 13 is a cabinet 14 for receiving and protecting the movement device is connected.
The movement device consists in this embodiment of a toothed rod 15 and a toothed segment 20 engaging in this, as is customary with gas generators. The rack 15 is attached below in a ring 17 held by ribs 16 of the movable cylinder 12 Zy. The rack 15 has a longitudinal slot 18 into which stationary pins 19 protrude in a straight line of the rod.
In the rack 15 engages the toothed segment 20, which is attached to an arm 23 of a two-armed lever, which the latter can be pivoted about a pin 22 mounted in the bead 21 of the filling head 1. The other arm 9-4 of the lever comes into contact with the weight 25 and the usual one with a spring-loaded latch Adjusting device 26.
The device works as follows: The valve body is in its position shown by its own weight and by the weight of its accessories and by the. in the closed position moving device pressed against the edge 9 ge.
If the grass producers are now to be charged with the coal poured into the filling head from above in the usual way, the adjusting device 26 is released and the tooth segment 20 is pivoted upward by pressing the lever arm 24 down. By the toothed segment, the rack 15 and through this the cylinder 12 and the valve body 11 is raised, the cylinder 12 slides in the stationary cylinder 13 upwards.
Since the valve body 11 can be closed again by pulling the lever arm 24 open.
In the example according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the movement device of the valve body 11 and the cabinet 14 separating it from the coal take up a considerable amount of space, whereby the usable space of the filling head 1 is reduced. From this point of view, the example according to FIGS. 3 and 4, which differs from that according to FIGS. 1 and 2 in essence only in the design of the movement device, is more expedient and at the same time simpler.
According to Fig. 3 and 4, the moving device is not mechanical, but hydraulic or pneumatic tables design.
According to FIGS. 3 and 4, the valve body 30 is supported by a cylinder 31 which can slide up and down in a stationary cylinder 32. Inside the cylinder 31 there is provided a cylinder 33 rigidly connected to the valve body 30 and hermetically sealed with a stuffing box cover 34, in which a stationary piston 35 is arranged, provided with piston rings and pierced in the center.
The piston has a recess at the top into which the lower end of a wide outer tube 36 is inserted. The upper end of this tube is held by an airtight sealing cap 37, which in turn is carried by the cylinder 32.
A tube 38, arranged on the left-hand side, opens into the tube 36, and at the bottom the tube communicates through a small opening with an annular space 39, which is arranged between the upper surface of the piston 35 and the lower surface of the stuffing box cover 34. A tube 40 arranged on the right-hand side is passed through the upper part of the tube 36, into which a narrower tube 41 arranged inside the tube 36 opens.
The latter is passed through the central bore of the piston 35 and is in communication with the cylinder space 42 located below the piston.
The device described above can be operated both hydraulically and pneumatically, depending on whether water or air is used as the pressing medium. The hydraulic operation is described below; It should be noted, however, that the pneumatic operation is completely identical to this.
If the valve is to be opened from its closed position according to FIG. 3, the pipe 38 is connected to the pressure water line and the pipe 40 is connected to the free water space. It flows through the tubes 38 and 36 according to FIG. the arrows according to FIG. 3 pressurized water in the space 39, which exerts a pressure on the lower surface of the cylinder cover.
Under the influence of the pressurized water, the cylinder 33 with the connected valve body 30 and cylinder 31 begins to slide upward on the piston 35, the relieved water flowing from the space 42 under the piston via the pipes 41 and 40 into the open. Under the action of the pressure water flowing in through the pipe 38, the cylinder 33 is raised until it reaches its upper position according to FIG. 4 and the filling opening 43 has been exposed.
If the valve is to be closed again, the pipe 40 is connected to the pressure water line and the pipe 38 to the free water space. In this case, the cylinder 33 is moved downwards by the pressurized water flowing into the space 42 via the pipes 40 and 41 according to the arrows in FIG. 4, whereby the ent-loaded water flows out of the space 39 through the pipes 36, 38 into the open air the valve body 30 is in its lower position as shown in FIG. 3 and the filling opening 43 has closed again.
The operation of the hydraulic or pneumatic device can be controlled by a com bined, not shown control valve of a known type.
The two examples given above naturally do not exhaust the design options, as a mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and, if applicable, electrical type of movement device that deviates from the examples described can also be used. Furthermore, the design of the shut-off valve can also differ from the one described.
B. a protruding from the wall of the lower union cylinder conical ring can serve, which is ge with the cylinder zwec-kmässigerweise cast in one piece.
