Fig. 5, ô, 7 et 8 sont des vues de détail.

Installation for remote control of firearms. The present invention relates to an installation for the remote control of firearms such as machine guns or cannon, for example.
The installation according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one source of pressurized gas disposed near at least one weapon to be controlled pneumatically, at least one device with electrically controlled valves, disposed close to this gas source, to pneumatically control this, respectively at least one of these weapons, and means for electrically controlling this, respectively these devices from a control station which is remote from them.
The appended drawing shows schematically-men-1, by way of examples, two embodiments of the installation according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a general diagram of the first embodiment.
Fig. \? is an end view of a device with electrically controlled valves (read includes this installation. Fig. 3 is a section along III-III of fi; g. 2.
Fig. 4 is a view from below corresponding to FIG. 2.
Fig. 5, 6, 7 and 8 are detail views. Fig. 9 -is an overall diagram of the second embodiment.
The remote control of a weapon usually requires the possibility of obtaining two very distinct movements: the trigger, which determines the departure of the projectile following the percussion of the primer and the rearming which, on a disabled automatic weapon. , allows you to put in place a new cartridge.
The problem to be solved consists in obtaining these two movements from a distance with as little energy consumption as possible and with as rapidity as possible, this last point being particularly interesting in the case of relaxation, since it leads, in the first place, to a greater precision of shooting on mobile goal and, in the second place, to an economy of ammunition. The installation according to fig. 1 comprises an energy source consisting of a bottle 1 containing gas at a pressure of the order of 150 to 200 kg per cm 3.
This bottle is provided with a regulator 2, bringing this gas to a pressure of 20 kg per cm \, for example. Means of known type allow rapid dismantling of the bottle and its change, while keeping the same regulator. The regulator 2 is connected by a pneumatic pipe 3 to a small capacity 4, itself connected by a pipe ï to a device 6 with electrically controlled valves. This device 6, like the bottle 1 moreover, is placed close to the weapons 7, machine guns for example, which must be controlled pneumatically. The device 6 is itself controlled electrically from a control station 8 which is remote from it.
In the example shown, where the device 6 controls three guns, it provides three starting pneumatic lines 9, serving to control the trigger of the guns 7. These conduits are connected by the device (<B>; < / B> with line 5, as will be indicated later, when it comes to firing. Device 6 is also connected to the three weapons by three pneumatic lines 10, used to determine the rearming of these weapons, as will be indicated later.
The three electrical conduits <B> Il </B> connecting the device 6 to the commando post 8, make it possible to determine, as will also be seen below, the connection between the conduit 5 and the conduits 9, when closes a switch 12, and between this same conduit 5 and the conduits 10, when a switch 13 is closed. 14 shows a common battery for supplying these electrical circuits.
The control device 6 shown in detail on the fis. 2, 3 and 4, comprises a body consisting of a part 15 of generally parallelepipedal shape flanked by two parts 16, 17, of substantially semi-cylindrical shape, arranged symmetrically with respect to an axis 18. The axis 18 is d 'moreover an axis of symmetry for all the elements of the body of the device 6.
Inside the part 15 are arranged two electromagnets 19, 20, coaxial. The electromagnet 19, controls a device with valves arranged in part 16, while the electromagnet 20 controls a device <r identical valves, arranged in part 17. For simplicity, we will only describe the part concerning the electromagnet 19 and the valves located in part 16 ..
Inside the electromagnet 19 is a core 21 terminating in a non-magnetic part 22 arranged so as to come to act by impact on one end of a rocker lever 23, pivoting about an axis 24 and coming to act through its other end on a movable member 25, integral with the movable part of two valves 26, 27, arranged head to head, such that when one opens, the other closes and vice versa. A spring 28 acts on the member 25 in the opposite direction of the rocker arm 23 when the latter is subjected to the action of the core 2,1.
The valves 26 and 27 include two seats 29, 3'0 machined on the same part 31, of conical shape, housed in a correspondingly shaped recess of part 16. The end 32 of part 16 and the end 33 of 1a, part 17 both have an inlet 34 making it possible to connect the pipe 5 to the device 6. A channel 3-5 connects the two inlets 34.
Thus, there is the possibility of making the pipe 5 arrive at the body of the device 6 as desired, by one of the two ends of this body, that of the inlets 34 which is not used to connect the pipe <B> 5 </B> being naturally closed by means of a plug.
The pressurized gas in the chamber M located upstream of the valve 27-30 is placed in communication, via the. outlet 37 of the device, with a capacity of the pneumatic device for triggering the weapons when this valve is open. When this valve is closed and therefore valve 26-29 is either green, this outlet 37 is communicated with the atmosphere through region 38 where the rocker arm is located, and through an orifice 30.
It can thus be seen that the cone constituting the part 31 is turned in such a way that the pressure of the gas tends to hold this part 31 in place in its housing.
The disposition. described about the two valves. controlled by the <B> 23, </B> rocker arm has the advantage of easy machining of the seats of these valves and of eliminating the two seals which would have to be provided if the seal was obtained by the ser cone rage.
The moment the core is attracted to the position shown in the drawing by the electro-magnet <B> 19, </B> it acquires great speed before coming into contact with the large arm of the rocker arm. At the moment of contact, there is shock, as already indicated, and weak opening of the valve 2'7-30. As soon as this valve is barely open, the pressure starting to act on its face opposite the member 31, a relatively small force is enough and simply given by the magnetic attraction of the core 21, to obtain complete lifting. and the total opening of this valve.
At each end of the, part 15, there are provided two groups of core members born of current to the electromagnets which are arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis 18. These members. comprise three pins 40, 41 and 42, connected, on the one hand, to the corresponding symmetrical pins and, on the other hand, the first to one of the ends of the winding of the electromagnet 19, the second, at.
one of the ends of the winding of the electromagnet 20, and the third, at the other end of the winding of these two electromagnets. At 43 and 44 are shown the terminals of the electromagnet 20. It is these three pins which will be connected, as will be indicated, to the three conductors 11, visible in FIG. 1. A cover 45, having three sockets. 46, is designed to come to rest against one or the other of the ends of the body of the device 6.
These sockets are arranged so as to cooperate with the corresponding pins 40, 41, 42, so as to connect them to the conductors 11 which are arranged inside a sheath 47, fixed to this cover 45, as can be seen. see in fig. & The cover 45 is hand held in place by means of a bracket 48, articulated around the axis 24 of the rocker arm located at the corresponding end of the -dispositif. A screw 49 acts in a small depression 50 of the cover in question to immobilize it.
It will be noted that, due to the symmetrical arrangement of the god groups of pins, the conductors serving for the excitation of the electromagnets can be brought to one or the other of the ends of the body of the device 6.
A starting member 5,1 (fig. 5 and 6) is fixed to the body of the device, by means of a hollow bolt 52 which is screwed at <B> 3 </B> 7. This member 5.1 is provided with three starting conduits 5.3, each of which can be screwed into a part 54, one end of which is shown on a larger scale in FIG. 7. This part has, in its end part, a groove 55 and, in its mouth, a conically shaped sealing part 56, made of rubber or leather, for example, hand held in place by means of a nut. 57.
Each of the pipes 9 ends, at its end intended to be connected to the device described, by its end piece 58, provided with a hook 59, biased by a spring 6-0 'in such a way that, when engages the end of the tip in the mouth of the part 54, the hook 59 engages with the .gorge 55 to hold this tip in place. When the pressure is established inside the part 54, this pressure deforms the sealing member 56 in such a way that it automatically ensures the sealing. To remove the end piece 58, it suffices to act on the end 60 of the hook 59, after restoring the pressure. outside in room 54.
At their other end, the pipes 9 each end in. a lique metal bellows shown in FIG. 8. These bellows include two metal parts, of

The installations described have the following advantages: Contrary to what takes place in similar known installations, there is no piping between the location where the weapons to be controlled are located and the control station. Connections. between this place and this station are made only by electric conductors. This facilitates installation, reduces weight and reduces the risk of damage from projectiles.
In addition, by the fact that the pressure sources are distributed, as is the case in fig. 9, in several groups, in case of damage, to one of them, the whole installation is not paralyzed.
On the other hand, the use of pre-compressed and dried gas prevents icing (this inevitably occurs in altitude when compressors and ambient air are used as the fluid.
All # elements are quickly interchangeable.
The installation, in particular that of fig. 9, allows several possibilities of firing combinations of the different weapons by unit, by group or all at the same time.
The quantity of air necessary to produce an expansion is equal to the sum of the capacity of the expansion and the capacity of the piping bringing the air to this expansion. Now, here, these two capacities are considerably reduced.
