Auf der Zeichnung ist der Gegenstand der Erfindung an mehreren Ausführungsbei spielen dargestellt, und zwar zeigen Fig. 1 eine Einspritzpumpe mit einer er findungsgemässen Vorrichtung, teilweise im Schnitt, und Fig. 2 eine ähnliche Darstellung bei ande rer Drehrichtung der Einspritzpumpe: Fig. 3 stellt einen Schnitt nach III-III in Fig. 1 .dar; Fig. 4 zeigt die gleiche Schnittführung wie Fig. 3, jedoch mit einer andern ausge bildeten Einspritzpumpe;
Device for hydraulic adjustment of the injection timing in internal combustion engines. The invention relates to a device for the hydraulic adjustment of the injection timing in internal combustion engines, the hydraulic adjustment force acting against a return force which, like the hydraulic adjustment force, acts on an adjustment member,
one movable partition forms between an inflow chamber for the control fluid and an outflow chamber which is connected to the inflow chamber via a throttle cross-section that changes depending on the movement of the adjusting member.
In known devices: of this type, the variable throttle cross-section is achieved in that the housing bore, in which the piston-shaped adjustment e7,1 01 moves, is designed to be slightly conical or is provided with longitudinal grooves of variable cross-section.
However, the exact manufacture of such throttle cross-sections is relatively costly and also has the disadvantage that subsequent reworking is very difficult if the incorrect dimensioning of the throttle cross-section turns out during assembly or later operation.
Furthermore, a very extensive inventory of different housings for the most varied of pump sizes and speeds is necessary, unless you accept the fact that the grooves are machined or the housings are not drilled out during mass production, but only during Assembly or to be carried out on delivery by expensive individual work.
Otherwise, you cannot attach such a device to every pump of a certain size in stock at the warehouse before you know under which conditions, especially in which speed range and with which direction of rotation the pump will later .work.
The invention makes it possible to avoid these disadvantages and to create a device that consists of as many identical parts as possible, regardless of the pump size, and in which you only have to move, replace or rework a few simple items to get them at different sizes and speeds and directions of rotation of the pumps.
According to the invention, this is made possible by the fact that the throttle cross-section is formed by an opening in the adjusting member and a pin playing in the opening with a cross-section that is variable in size over its length.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown at several Ausführungsbei play, namely Fig. 1 shows an injection pump with a device according to the invention, partly in section, and Fig. 2 shows a similar illustration with other direction of rotation of the injection pump: Fig. 3 represents a section according to III-III in Fig. 1 .dar; Fig. 4 shows the same section as Figure 3, but with a different out formed injection pump;
FIG. 5 shows part of another embodiment of the subject matter of the invention and FIG. 6 shows a plan view of the part shown in FIG. 5, partly in section; 7 and 8 each relate to a further embodiment of the invention.
1 is an injection pump, the four single pumps of which pump fuel through outlets? to lead the injection valves, not shown, of an internal combustion engine under high pressure. The injection pump 1 has a camshaft 3, the right end of which protruding from the pump housing is equipped with a coarse thread.
For coupling the camshaft 3 with a shaft 4 driven by the internal combustion engine, a coupling sleeve 5 is used, which is inserted into the steep threads on the right-hand end of the camshaft and, on the other hand, into a straight toothing on the left-hand end of the drive shaft 4 intervenes. The coupling sleeve can be moved from the right end position shown in Figure 1 by a two-armed lever 6 to the left, which on a pin 7 a; Bearing block 8 is rotatable Gela Gert.
The drive shaft 4 and the cam shaft 3 have the direction of rotation indicated in Fig. 1 with 9 and 10. When the sleeve 5 is shifted to the left in FIG. 1, the camshaft 3 can be rotated forward slowly in the drive device 10 with respect to the drive shaft 4 in the direction of the steep thread shown.
whereby a forward shift of the pump strokes of the injection pump compared to the piston strokes of the internal combustion engine BEZW. the injection time is brought forward.
On the housing of the injection pump 1, a feed pump 12 is attached, the Kol ben by a. Cam of the shaft 3 is being driven. The feed pump 12 is connected on the one hand to a fuel tank 14 via a suction pipe 13 and on the other hand to a fuel filter 16 via a pressure line 1.5. From the filter 16 leads a line \? 7 via an overflow valve 28 to return to the fuel tank 14 and a second line 17 into a housing 18. The housing 18 is divided into two chambers 20 and 21 by a piston 19.
In the piston 19 an opening 22 is provided into which a respectively attached to the housing. protrudes into this screwed pin 23. The chamber 21 is connected by a line 24 to the suction chamber 25, which is common to all individual tracks of the injection pump.
Furthermore, a spring 6 is arranged in the chamber 21, which is supported with one end against the piston 19 and with the other end the right wall of the housing 18, designed as a cover 27. The piston 1.9 has a piston rod 29 which is guided to the outside through the cover 27 and is connected in an articulated manner to the IIeb @ el 6.
When the machine is in operation, the fuel delivered in excess by the feed pump 12 reaches the filter 16 via the line 15. A partial amount flows through the line 17 into the inflow chamber 20 and from there via the opening 22, the cross-section of which goes through the pin 23 is largely throttled into the second chamber, the flow chamber 21, and finally via the line 24 into the suction chamber 25 of the injection pump.
The fuel portion delivered in excess flows off via the overflow valve 28 arranged at the filter 16,, the. is biased to a certain desired pressure so that the pressure in the inflow chamber 20 remains essentially unchanged over the entire operating time. The pressure in the outflow channel 21, on the other hand, changes with the amount of fuel taken from the suction chamber by the injection pump.
This pressure is lower when the amount of liquid flowing through the suction chamber increases.
The amount of fuel flowing to the suction chamber 25 can increase, depending on the injection pump design, either only with increasing speed or with increasing speed and load. In injection pumps in which part of the amount of fuel sucked in before each delivery stroke is pushed back through channels 90 into the common suction chamber, as for example in the pump design according to FIG. 3, the amount of fuel used for injection is decisive for the inflow to the suction chamber.
In the time unit, this amount changes on the one hand with a certain control position of the injection pump, that is, with a certain load, with the speed. On the other hand, this amount also changes when the control position changes, i.e. with the load.
While there is a dependency on speed and load here, in a Pumpenaus education according to FIG. 4, the amount of fuel extending to the suction chamber is purely speed-dependent, because here the amount of fuel sucked in by the injection pump in excess is no longer in the suction chamber 25, but in A space 25 'separated from the suction space is pushed back and from here returned to the fuel tank or directly to the suction side of the feed pump.
Depending on the type of injection pump, with increasing speed alone or with increasing speed and load, the pressure drop in the outflow chamber 21 increases the pressure difference between this and the inflow chamber 20, both of which are only due to the narrow throttle cross-section formed by the opening 22 are connected.
Due to the increasing pressure difference, a movement of the piston 19 to the right against the We effect of the spring 26 comes about, the lever 6 is taken in the clockwise direction in the sense of moving the start of injection forward. This movement then stops when a new state of equilibrium has set between the tension of the spring 26 and the pressure difference.
So that this state of equilibrium occurs in a position in which the injection start that is most suitable for the prevailing conditions is obtained, the taper of the pin 23 and the dimensioning of the spring 26 must be selected accordingly.
The embodiment according to FIG. 2 differs from that according to FIG. 1 essentially in that the otherwise unchanged pump is driven in the opposite direction of rotation 9a.
If you want to use the same coupling sleeve 5 and accordingly also the same direction of the high helix thread on the right cam stub shaft with the selected type of attachment, the injection pump on the engine, you have to move the lever 6a in the opposite direction as in Fig. 1 when you in both cases, with increased fuel supply to space 2.5, a rotation of the camshaft in the sense of an earlier setting of the injection point wants to achieve.
While in Fig. 1 the lever 6 sets an earlier injection time from the solid position to the dash-dotted line, according to FIG. 2 a movement of the lever 6a from the solid position shown in Fig. 2 is in the direction of the clock hand to move the injection time earlier required lP-h. Uni to be able to change the housing 18 in this case,
are in the arrangement according to FIG. 2, certain parts within the housing and the pipe connections interchanged. The line 17a coming from the filter 16 now leads to the inflow chamber 220a on the opposite side, while the spring 26a in the outflow chamber 21 now on the left-hand side of the piston 17 a is arranged, from which the discharge line 24a leads to the suction chamber 25 of the injection pump.
All items are the same as in Fig. 2, with the exception of the, pin 23a, which is tapered in the opposite direction, as the .Stift 23 in Fig. 1. This non-interchangeability, the pin 23 against the pin 23a is less Meaning there. This is a simple and cheap producible part that can be easily kept in stock in both versions, so that the individual pumps can be optionally equipped with pins of one or the other type depending on the required direction of rotation.
It does not make any difficulties here even to keep pins with different degrees of taper on La ger, from which the most suitable injection pump is then to be selected for the required delivery rate of the injection pump. In order to select the correct pin in each case, only a very small expenditure of time is required, which is disproportionate to the time which would be necessary to rework the grooves in the cylinder wall in the known devices, for example.
The housing 18 can also consist of one piece with the housing of the injection pump. In this case, the piston 19 is arranged in a longitudinal bore of the housing of the injection pump that can be closed by a cover, for example in a protruding eye or laterally in the foot of the pump housing. In Fig. 5 and 6 a slightly different embodiment is shown.
30 is a connection piece for the pipe connection 24, which leads to the suction chamber 25 of the injection pump 1. A holder 31 is inserted over the connection piece 30 and fastened by a washer and nut 32. To secure the exact position of the holder 31 on the pump housing, two guide pins 33 are used. The holder 31 forms the cover of a housing 34 which corresponds to the housing 18 in FIGS.
Holder 31 and housing 34 are connected to one another by screws 35. A piston 36 is arranged in the housing 34. In an axle bore of the piston a longitudinally pierced bush 37 is attached by a courage 38 ter.
In the longitudinal bore of this sleeve located in the axis of the piston, a pin 39 protrudes, which is guided in the latter and whose cross-section decreases towards the free end as a result of an oblique flattening 49, the axial bore of the sleeve 37 except for a throttle gap of small Cross-section fills. The sleeve 37 has a stepped recess 40 into which a neck 41 and a head 42 of a piston rod 43 is suspended in the radial direction. The pin 39 protrudes into a deep axis bore 44 of the piston rod.
The groove of the recess mentioned, which receives the head 42 of the piston rod, is somewhat wider in the axial direction than the height of the head 42, so that a constant connection remains between the throttle gap and the right-hand side of the piston.
As a result, the housing chamber 45 to the left of the piston 36, into which the fuel flows from the line 17 in the direction of the arrow 46 and which can therefore be called the inflow chamber, is constantly connected via the throttle gap to the chamber 47 located to the right of the piston 36 which the entire amount of the line 17 supplied and passed through the throttle gap fuel flows through the guide trough 24 to the suction chamber of the injection pump.
If, under the operating conditions explained in more detail in the description of the preceding examples, the fuel consumption per unit of time in the suction chamber of the injection pump increases, the pressure in the outflow chamber 4 increases? from. The pressure gradient between the two piston sides increases, and the piston 36 is thereby pushed against the action of the spring 48 to the right. whereby: the lever 6 connected to the piston rod 43 sets the injection pump to an earlier injection time.
During this adjustment movement, the flow cross-section between the longitudinal bore of the sleeve 37 and the pin 39 increases, so that finally the pressure gradient which causes the advance decreases again to a value which the force of the return springs 48 keeping her balance. As soon as this is reached, the adjustment movement stops.
Conversely, with decreasing fuel consumption from the suction chamber of the injection pump, the pressure in the outflow chamber 47 increases accordingly. The pressure drop between the two chambers 45 and 47 decreases. The tensioned spring 48 therefore returns the piston for setting a later start of injection.
In the vicinity of its end 50, the pin 39 has two opposite lateral flattened areas 51, with which it is hooked into a corresponding recess at the end of an adjusting screw 52. The adjusting screw 52 is secured by a lock nut 53.
After loosening the lock nut 53, by turning the adjusting screw 52, the pin 39 can be moved in its longitudinal direction at any time for the correct setting of the throttle gap.
The other end 54 of the pin 39 is also set up for hooking into the screw 52, as is the end 50. The pin is to be hung with: its end 54 into the screw 52, if, for example, a system for which the Ver conditions fit, is to be driven in the opposite direction of rotation; because then, as mentioned above, a movement of the lever 6 in the opposite direction is required to set an earlier start of injection.
In this case, in the embodiment according to FIG. 5, the connections of the clocks 17 and 24 on the housing 34 are of course to be interchanged and the spring 48 to be inserted into the chamber to the left of the piston 36.
The piston rod 43 has a relatively long guide in the holder 31. Within the guide, an annular space 56 is arranged, as well as one or more channels 57 for discharging leakage oil that could penetrate from the chamber 47, for example. A bellows 70, which is fastened on the one hand to the holder 31 and on the other hand to a connector link 58, which transmits the movements of the piston rod 43 to the lever 6, serves to protect against the entry of dust and the like.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 7, the pin 39a, which serves to change the throttle gap between the chambers 45 and 47, is connected to a lever 71. A cable 72 leads from the lever 71 to the fuel lever, not shown, with which the driver sets the load on the internal combustion engine (“accelerator pedal”).
A spring 80 tries to hold the pin 39a in a position in which the throttle cross-section is smallest at a certain piston stel development. The pin is pulled out of this position as soon as the fuel lever is set to greater load. The throttle gap becomes larger.
With the help of this adjustment of the pin depending on the setting of the. "Accelerator", with appropriate measurement of the oblique flattening, the load dependency still present in pumps according to FIG. 3 in addition to the speed-dependent adjustment effect can be completely or partially switched off, so that essentially: just as in the case of pumps according to FIG. 4, only speed dependency remains.
In pumps according to Fig. 4 you can on the other hand, the pure speed dependency by this displacement of the pin also load-dependent ge stalten if this is desired. The direction of the slope: the flattening 49 and the arrangement of the spring 48 on one or the other side of the piston are also selected here according to the direction of adjustment desired in each case.
Another, practically purely speed-dependent device for adjusting the injection time is shown in FIG. The injection adjusting lever 6 is also connected to a piston rod 61 suspended in the piston 60.
In a longitudinal bore in the piston rod 61, the right end of which is closed ver by a screw plug 73, a cylindrical pin 62 is guided longitudinally displaceably, which has a recess 63 on the jacket in the region of the piston 60, the two ends of which gradually expire. The piston 60 is guided in a longitudinally displaceable manner in a housing 64 and divides it into an inflow chamber 66 connected to a liquid feed line 65 and one connected to a liquid discharge line 6 7. Drainage chamber 68.
The chamber 66, the throttle opening formed by the recess 63 and the chamber 68 are successively traversed by the same amount of liquid flowing out into the line 67. In the flow chamber 68 from a spring 69 is arranged, which is supported with one end on the housing cover 74 and with the other end on the piston 60. The piston rod 61 has a longitudinal slot 75 through which a pin 76 attached to the pin 62 protrudes. This is connected to a lever 77 which is mounted at 78 on the pump housing.
A link 79 leads from the lever 77 to a lever 81, which is fixedly mounted at 82 and engages with a lateral pin 83 in a regulator sleeve 84. On a federal government he regulator sleeve 84 are arms 85 of flyweights 86, which are thrown outward with increasing speed in increasing mass and here the sleeve 84 against the action of a spring 87 we move to the right. During this rightward movement, the parts 81, 79, 7, 7 and 62 and thereby also the recess 63 are taken to the right by an amount corresponding to the respective increase in speed.
The flow cross-section of the throttle gap in the piston 60 is reduced, so that the pressure difference between the inflow chamber 66 and the outflow chamber 68 is greater. This results in a movement of the piston 60 to the right until a new equilibrium position of the piston 60 has been set with the corresponding compression of the spring 69. Here the piston position is only slightly dependent on the pressure and the amount of liquid flowing through the recess.
For each new piston position it is mainly a question of how large the amount of the pin is. 62 resp. His recess 63 has been moved in individual cases relative to the piston. The adjustment of the piston 60 is practically only dependent on the speed. When the piston moves to the right, the. Lever 6 set an earlier start of injection in a manner corresponding to that in FIG. Conversely, when the rotational speed drops, the piston and lever 6 are moved in the opposite direction, so that the start of injection occurs later.
Instead of the lever 81 in FIG. 8, it is also possible to use that lever of a so-called "Verstellreglers- 'or" L) mbzahlsequeregle @ rs "which, like the lever 30 according to the earlier patent no Presetting of the i11a-shift set to a desired new speed, but only afterwards when the machine actually carries out the set speed change.
If the line connections to the two chambers 66, 68 are interchanged, so that the fluid pressure generated by the pump 12 is applied to the right side of the piston 60, the spring 69 would of course have to be relocated to the left chamber 66.
