Device for controlling electric motors. The present invention relates to a device for controlling elec tric motors, in particular reversing motors by. a generator in Ward-Ileonard circuit can be fed with current, which has a speed control switch for the motor and a speed compensation relay, which depends on the difference between: the real motor speed and the:
Desired speed, as given by setting the Gess speed control switch; is actuated.
The control device is arranged in such a way that when the speed control switch is actuated, in the sense of increasing the motors, gesahwin:
speed, the acceleration of the motor increases until the real motor speed reaches the desired speed. In addition, with this control device .Sicherungsrelaisvorri gtungen are provided in order to... Of the motor during acceleration phases and when dangerous states such as eg.
B. Overcurrent in the Clenerator motor circuit, which makes the acceleration of the motor causing speed compensation relay ineffective.
The control device according to the invention for electric motors is characterized in that the speed compensation relay has two windings, one of which is dependent on the actual motor speed,
while the other is excited as a function of the setting of the speed control switch, and that the speed compensation relay has a movably arranged contact element to control two contact groups, one of which is actuated when the motor accelerates to increase the same,
while. the other is activated when slowing down and reversing the direction of rotation of the motor. in such a way that when a dangerous state occurs during the deceleration or reversal of the direction of rotation, the rate of change of the generator field excitation at least one of the two machines is controlled in such a way that the dangerous state is eliminated.
The accompanying drawing illustrates the scheme, for example. an arrangement working according to the Ward-Leonard principle. According to this drawing, the motor 1 of the arrangement is designed for use in connection with a reversible rolling mill, and this motor 1 must be capable of very rapid reversals during the entire duration of the operation of this rolling mill.
This engine is powered by a generator? with energy ver provides, the regulation of the motor speed and the directions of rotation of the motor controlled by the excitation of the generator field winding 3 and higher speeds by weakening the excitation of the motor field winding 4 are achieved. For example, a Ward-Leonard control from 0 to 60 revolutions per minute and a motor field control from 60-150 revolutions per minute can be used.
The engine resp. Generator fittings 5 respectively. 6 are directly connected to one another and the motor field winding 4 is connected in series with a field monitoring resistor 7 and is supplied with energy by an exciter 8, the field winding of which is controlled by the control switch 10 in a manner not shown in the drawing becomes,
if the speed of the motor 1 should be more than 60 revolutions per minute. The field clipping resistor 7 is normally short-circuited by a contactor <B> 1.1. </B>.
The generator field winding 3 is. connected in series to a ballast resistor 12 and is supplied with energy via this .by an exciter 13, the field winding 14 of which both the sense and the degree of excitation na-oh in a suitable manner, also not apparent from the drawing:
the control switch 10 is controlled in such a way that the motor 1 runs backwards and that it has a speed control

Another relay 34, which responds to speed, has the winding 3: 5, which is excited by the magnetic inductor 25. common point 43 are connected, which in turn with the positive main conductor: the source 26 via the contacts 28, 29 and 41, 42 de8Strom- respectively. C'xeso speed compensation relay 16 respectively. 22 is connected, while the winding 37 of the contactor 11, which is assigned to the motor field wieklung,
with the mentioned common point 43 through the contacts 36 of the relay 34 and the winding 39 of the contactor 15 via: the contactor 40 of the voltage relay 18 with the,
common point 43 are connected. This common point 43 is with one of the upper and one of the lower contacts 28 and 29 of the current relay 16 and the other upper contact 28 of this relay 1-6 with a decorative lower contacts 42 of the speed compensation relay 22 and further
the lower contact 29 of the current relay 16 is connected to one of the upper contacts 41 of the Ges.chwin@digkeits- compensation relay 22. The main positive lead of the power source 26 is connected to the remaining upper and lower contacts 41,
42 .des speed compensation xela% s 22 connected, and normally the movable contact 44 of this relay 22 touches neither the upper nor the lower pair of contacts 41 or. 42, of relay 22 ,.
The mode of operation of the described arrangement is as follows: Assumed: the motor 1 is at a standstill, and the control switch 10 is in its interruption position. If this control switch 10 is now brought into its first forward position I,
so the generator and. Motor field windings 3 and 4 energize and cause motor 1 to rotate. The speed compensation relay 22 will then close its upper contacts 41,
which through the lower contacts 29 of the current relay 16 excite the winding 38 of the auxiliary relay 21 and the winding 39 of the contactor 15 connected to the ballast resistor 12. The contactor 15 closes and closes there: duTCh -the ballast resistor 12 short.
As a result, the generator voltage is quickly brought to a value which, if allowed to continue, would be higher than necessary.
The rolling mill motor 1 therefore accelerates quickly, and when it approaches the speed of 10 revolutions per minute, the voltage of the magnetic inductor 25 is sufficient to rebalance the windings 23, 24 of the speed compensation relay 22 'bring. The contactor 15 opens, and the generator voltage drops. to their correct value.
The auxiliary relay 21 brings about the return of the voltage breaking relay 18 without waiting for the voltage to drop to a low value. A similar process takes place when the control switch is in its second BEZW. third forward position II respectively. III is moved.
Should a dangerous current peak occur during the time in which the ballast resistor 12 is short-circuited, the .Stromrelais 16 opens its lower contacts 29, and the contactor 15 short-circuiting the ballast resistor 12 is opened. An overvoltage will have the same effect, namely by opening the contacts 40 of the voltage relay 18 in series with the winding 39 of the contactor 15.
If the control switch 10 is now moved to its fourth position IV, which corresponds to a rotational speed of 90 revolutions per minute, the relay 34 responsive to the speed closes its contact generator connected in series with the winding 37 of the motor field winding 4 B> 11 </B> located contacts 36, and if the speed compensation relay 22 is out of balance,
the contact generator 11 is opened and the field weakening resistor 7 is switched into the circuit of the field winding 4. This process increases the acceleration of the engine 1 up to 90 revolutions per minute.
After the speed compensation relay -2-) has come into equilibrium again, the resistor 7 is short-circuited again by the opening of the upper contacts 41 of the relay 22. A similar process takes place in the positions V and VI of the control switch 10. At the same time, the regulation of the resistor 12 takes place in the field circuit of the generator.
The occurrence of overvoltages or overcurrents while the speed compensation relay 22 is not in Ctleieligewgt will therefore bring about the reconnection of the resistor 12 in the field circuit of the generator and the deactivation of the resistor 7 from the field circuit of the motor.
If the control switch 10 is in position VI, which corresponds to a reversing speed of 150 revolutions per minute, and if it is now moved back into the switch-off position, then the winding 24 of the speed balance relay is 22 from the main line 26 supplied current aboyeschwäelit and finally reduced to zero.
The other winding 23, however, remains energized. until the rolling mill motor 1 has stopped, the contacts 42 of the relay 22 closing. This closure of the contacts 42 of the relay 2 2 has no effect on the whole arrangement if the contacts 28 of the current relay 16 are not closed.
If a strong current occurs, then the contacts 28 of the .Strom- relay 16, and the winding 39 of the. The contactor 15 connected to the generator field circuit is excited and short-circuits the resistor 12 in the field circuit. the time constants of the generator field winding 3 being increased at the same time.
Of course, the voltage of the generator field exciter 13 also falls with the movement of the control switch 10 into its switch-off position. Furthermore, if the Motorgeschwin speed is more than 60 tours per minute, the contactor 11, which is in communication with the field circuit of the motor, energized and the activation of the counter stand 7 in the motor field circuit will reduce the counter electromotive force generated thereby.
A very similar process results when the control switch 10 is moved from its off position into a reverse position, with the difference that in this case the sense:
The excitation of the winding 32 of the polarized relay 33, which takes place via the control switch 10, is reversed, the contacts 33 of the relay 30 open and cause:
that the lower contacts 42 of the speed compensation relay 22 remain closed. If now. If an overcurrent peak occurs, the contactor 15, wire connects to the resistor 12:
of the generator field is connected, and thereby in turn increases the time constant of the generator field winding 3 .. Finally, the motor speed drops to zero, then reverses, and the polarized relay 30 closes again. its contacts 33. The upper contacts 41 of the speed compensation relay 22 also close in order to cause a rapid acceleration of the motor 1 in the reverse movement, such as:
this has already been described when moving the control switch 10 into the forward positions.
In addition to the various relays mentioned above, overspeed contacts 45 are arranged on motor 1 in such a way that they switch off all excitation of motor 1 and generator 2 when the motor speed reaches any predetermined value above the maximum permissible speed .
