Description

Additional patent to main patent no. 2089 "00. Process for the production of an azo dye. It has been found that a new valuable azo dye is obtained when ethyloxethylaminobenzene, the diazo compound of 1-amino-4-nitrobenzene-2-methylsulfone and succinic anhydride interact in such a way that

that the acidic succinic acid ester of ethyloxethylamino benzene is formed and the diazo radical occurs in the 9-position to the tertiary amino group.

The dye thus obtained forms a dark powder which dissolves in the form of an alkali salt in water with a violet color and dyes acetate artificial silk from an aqueous solution in violet tones. Example: 265 parts are added to the diazo solution that is produced from 216 parts 1 - amino-4-nitrobenzene-2-methylsulfone of the acid ssernsteinsä.ureester of Äthyloxäthylamino- '@enzols, obtained by reacting succinic anhydride with Äthyloxäthyla.mino- benzene,

which is in the form of an aqueous solution of an ammonium salt. The coupling is completed by prolonged stirring and, if necessary, neutralizing agents such. B. sodium acetate to give. The dye is then filtered off and washed a little with water. It is then stirred with a sodium chloride solution and set to neutral with sodium carbonate or ammonia.
