Device for monitoring the position of a person moving in space
Body, in particular an aircraft.
In order to be able to recognize the position of an aircraft in space with respect to its inclination around the longitudinal axis and the transverse axis even in invisible weather, a device is used which shows two marks on an observation surface, one of which is a picture of the aircraft and the other represents the horizon, whereby the marks are controlled in such a way that their mutual position corresponds to the position of the aircraft in relation to the horizon,
Such devices usually consist of a gimbal-mounted gimbal pendulum, the axis of the gimbal being perpendicular in space.
In a known embodiment of such a device, the Eardanring, which is rotatable about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the aircraft and in which the gyro pendulum is mounted about a transverse axis, carries an observation surface in front of which a pointer representing the horizontal plays, which is mounted on the Eardan frame and is controlled by a crank mechanism in such a way that it illustrates the position of the horizon in comparison to an aircraft image applied to the glass pane covering the observation area. As a result of the connection between the observation area and the gardan ring, any inclination of the aircraft around its longitudinal axis is directly in the ratio of 1:
1. on the observation area and the La. transmission of the pointer, while the pointer undergoes a parallel shift in front of the observation area, the size of which, according to the laws of the crank mechanism used, is not proportional to the apparent shift of the horizon, but rather results in greater sensitivity near the central position.
In many cases, it is desirable that deviations from the normal position of an aircraft when flying straight ahead in the horizontal direction, both with respect to the inclination about the longitudinal axis and with respect to the inclination about the transverse axis, are displayed with significantly greater sensitivity. This is possible per se in another known arrangement, in which two BEZW by per se known electrical transmission means according to the inclination about the longitudinal axis. the transverse axis controlled rotating coils, each mounted in a magnetic field, are used. The transmission means can be dimensioned in such a way that the deviations of the aircraft from its normal position are shown enlarged.
This makes it possible for the observer to clearly recognize even very small deviations from the desired position of the aircraft, so that the aircraft position can be safely maintained during a long flight without seeing the ground.
In this known arrangement, two complete moving coil meters are used. which are arranged inside the device housing in such a way that the rotating coil, controlled according to the inclination around the longitudinal axis, rotates one mark around an axis at right angles to the observation surface and the second rotating coil, controlled according to the inclination around the transverse axis, moves the other mark in front of the observation area .
This known arrangement has the disadvantage that the two rotating coils with their magnet systems take up a relatively large amount of space, which must be avoided in particular with aircraft equipment.
A device for monitoring the position of a body moving in space, in particular an aircraft in which this disadvantage can be avoided, is obtained using two electrical transmission means (which are known per se) according to the inclination about the longitudinal axis respectively. the transverse axis of controlled rotating coils according to the invention in that one of the two brands, one of which represents the moving body (the aircraft) and the other symbolically represents the horizon, is controlled by the two rotating coils which, crossed by 90 against each other, mechanically with each other and are mounted in a frame rotatable about an axis at right angles to the axis of rotation of the moving coils in such a way that they can rotate in a common magnetic field.
The two rotating coils are preferably wound in a circular manner. wherein they comprise an iron core which is spherical in shape at least on the active surfaces and which move in the field of an annular magnet, the pole faces of which are spherically hollowed out.
To control the two rotating coils, a horizon rotary device of the known type can be used, with the relative movements of the relevant components corresponding to the inclination about the axes concerned being transferred to the corresponding measuring units with known means. Instead of a horizon gyro, however, known turning pointer or pendulum devices can also be used for the transmission of the relevant inclination movements.
Any means known per se for converting a rotary movement into an electrical quantity can be used. Transfer the relevant angle of inclination are used. For example, to transfer the inclination around the longitudinal axis, a contact arm can be mechanically connected to the gimbal frame of a horizon gyro device, which, during the rotary movements of the rarity frame, slides on a resistor attached to the housing of the device, so that the amount of the resistance depends on the inclination of the Aircraft is dependent on its longitudinal axis. A current controlled accordingly by the resistor is then fed to one moving coil, the deflection of which is therefore dependent on the angle of inclination concerned.
In a similar way, the angle of inclination about the transverse axis can also be transferred to the second rotating coil.
Some exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing. It represents
1 shows the front view and FIG. 2 shows the associated top view of a first exemplary embodiment.
3 shows the front view of a similar device.
Fig. 4 shows the front view and Fig. 5 the associated plan view of a different embodiment, and
6, 7 and 8 are sectional drawings of this embodiment in three views, FIG. 7 being a section along the line AB in FIG.
In the embodiments shown in the drawing, two rotating coils 1 and 2 are provided, which are mechanically connected to one another when they are crossed by 90 degrees. The moving coil 1 is controlled according to the inclination about the longitudinal axis and the moving coil 2 is controlled according to the inclination about the transverse axis. Both rotating coils are wound circularly and include an iron core 16 that is spherical in shape at least on the effective surfaces.
The common magnet system, not shown in FIGS. 2 and 5, is accordingly provided with spherically hollowed-out magnetic poles, the effective lines of force penetrating the pointer plane at right angles.
2 shows an arrangement in which the two crossed rotating coils 1 and 2 are rotatably mounted in a frame 17 about an axis at right angles to the winding plane of the rotating coil 1, which is controlled according to the inclination about the longitudinal axis, and which in turn is mounted at right angles to the loading The axis lying on the observation area is rotatable.
The observation surface is formed by the surface of a disk 18 which is curved according to a spherical surface with a center point M which lies at the intersection of the axis of rotation of the frame 17 with the axis of rotation of the moving coil system 1, 2. The disk 18 is fixedly arranged in the housing of the device and, as shown in FIG. 1, is provided with a horizontal line 19 as a representation of the horizon. The bearings of the frame 17 fastened in the housing are designated by 20 and 21. The moving coil 2 carries a shaft 22 which rests in bearings 23 and 24 fastened to the frame 17 and carries an arm 25, the free end of which is correspondingly bent and designed as an aircraft image 26.
If the aircraft deviates from the normal position with regard to its inclination about the longitudinal axis, forces act on the moving coil 1 which strive to move the moving coil and thus also the frame 17 and the shaft 22 about an axis perpendicular to the observation surface rotate.
The axis of the shaft 22 indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 1 accordingly rotates through an angle α which is an enlarged representation of the angle of inclination of the aircraft around its longitudinal axis. An inclination of the aircraft about the transverse axis results in a corresponding rotation of the moving coil 2 and thus a rotation of the shaft 22 in the bearings 23, 24, the aircraft image 26 being displaced parallel to the axis of the shaft 22 by a distance s.
In Fig. 3, an embodiment similar to FIG. 2 is shown, which differs from the arrangement of FIG. 1 in that the arm 25 carries a line-shaped pointer 27, which the position of the horizon in relation to one on the housing covering Aircraft image 28 attached to the glass pane is illustrated. The disk 18 is provided with a horizon line. Moreover, the position of the aircraft in relation to the horizon can be seen from the angle of rotation α of the axis of the shaft 22 and the displacement s of the horizon pointer 27.
FIG. 5 shows a similar arrangement, the crossed rotating coils 1 and 2 being controlled in the same way as in the arrangement according to FIG. 4 and also being arranged in the same spatial position. The storage by means of the bearings 23 and 24 in the frame 17 is carried out by a shaft connected to the coil 1 and perpendicular to the observation surface, while the frame 17 is rotatable by means of the bearings 20 and 21 about an axis parallel to the observation surface .
The shaft 29 carries a mark 30, recognizable from FIG. 4, representing an aircraft image, which moves in front of a spherical disk 31, which is similar to that in FIG. 2 and is fastened in the housing and provided with a horizon line 32. In order to allow the shaft 29 to pass through even when it is inclined to the horizontal, the disk 31 is provided with a vertical slot 33. When the aircraft is inclined about the longitudinal axis, the coil 1 rotates in the field of a common magnet, not shown, of the two rotating coils, so that the angle of inclination α of the aircraft image 30 relative to the horizontal is an enlarged image of the actual angle of inclination.
A rotation about the transverse axis causes, as in the arrangement according to FIG. 2, a rotation of the spool 2 and thus of the frame 17 about the axis given by the bearings 20, 21 and thus an open or respectively. Downward movement of the aircraft image 30 by a distance s.
In FIGS. 6 to 8 a device according to FIGS. 4 and 5 is shown in its essential components. 6 is a view from the side with a cut housing, FIG. 7 is a view of the end face and FIG. 8 is a plan view, also with a cut housing. The rear end of the housing is broken away because it only contains the connecting parts. the design of which is not essential for explaining the subject matter of the invention.
The end face of the cylindrical housing 34 is closed by a spherically curved glass pane 35. A tubular component 36 is pushed into the housing from the rear and, as can be seen from the figures, is cut out so that two longer tabs 37 are created at the top and bottom and two shorter tabs 38 are created at the sides; the tabs 37 are used for fastening the spherical disc 31 by means of two mounting lugs 39. In the tab 38, the frame 17 is mounted about a horizontal axis.
In the tubular component 36, a base 40 is inserted which, by means of suitably bent supports 41, carries the iron core 16, which is surrounded by the crossed circularly wound rotating coils 1 and 2.
These move in the field of an annular permanent magnet 42 on the surfaces 43 with. V and'S 'marked poles are ground spherically. The magnet 42 is carried by the tubular component 36 by means of spacers 44, 45. The moving coil 1 carries stub shafts 46 and 47 on both sides. The pins of which in the bearings 23 respectively.
24 rest. The front stub shaft 47 carries a correspondingly curved holder 48 for the mark representing an aircraft image. 30th
The slot 33 is provided in the disk 31 for the holder 48 to pass through. The stub shafts 46 and 47 also each carry two straightening springs 49 respectively. 50, which also serve as power supplies for the moving coils 1 and 2. The holder 51 and 52 of the springs 49 respectively. 50 are attached to the frame 17, from where flexible strands, not shown, to those arranged on the base 40. Lead connection terminals. In addition, special directional springs (not shown) are provided for rotating the frame 17.
