Fig. 2 est un graphique explicatif.
Les parties <I>A B</I> et<I>B C</I> se raccordent en<I>B.</I> La partie rectiligne<I>A B</I> et la partie incurvée<I>B C</I> for ment ensemble 1a_ presque totalité du profil de la face amont de la, vanne.
I>T</I> parallèle<I>à B'</I> C' touche l'are. La perpen diculaire<I>L</I> M <I>à B'</I> C' est donc la flèche de l'are considéré.
1o Grâce à la forte courbure de la partie AE, qui se trouve dans la région la plus haute lorsque le panneau est en position d'ou verture complète, on est assuré d'avoir, dans cette position, le débit maximum; ?o Du fait de la courbure des parties A E et B C D, on obtient un raccordement correct du panneau avec l'ouvrage, en amont et, sur tout, avec le parement aval;
Check valve panel. The present invention relates to a valve panel.
When using a flap valve, the following four conditions must be considered: 10 maximum flow rate in fully open position; 20 correct connection with the upstream and downstream structures: in particular for check valves placed at the top of a dam, a good connection with the downstream facing is necessary to prevent the water table from being projected beyond the facing, which would require long bay windows and a large shock-absorbing basin; 3rd maximum torque as small as possible; 40 negative torque as low as possible also.
These last two conditions concern the operating mechanism.
The present invention aims to obtain a form of valve panel reconciling these various conditions. The valve panel forming the subject of the invention is characterized in that at least the major part of its profile upstream face is formed by a practically rectilinear part followed by a curved part, the convexity of which faces upstream.
These two rectilinear and curved parts can be preceded and followed by elements, more or less curved for example, which do not appreciably affect the characteristics of the general shape.
The accompanying drawing shows schematically, by way of example, one embodiment of the valve panel according to the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view of the panel arranged at the top of a structure such as a dam for example.
Fig. 2 is an explanatory graphic.
The valve panel 1 pivots in a known manner about an axis F located at the upper part of a structure 2 constituting, for example, a dam. The profile of the upstream face of the panel 1 comprises a rectilinear part going from A to B and followed by a curved part going from B to C, the convexity of which is turned upwards. The parts <I> AB </I> and <I> BC </I> are connected in <I> B. </I> The rectilinear part <I> AB </I> and the curved part <I> BC </I> together form almost the entire profile of the upstream face of the valve.
The rectilinear part <I> A B </I> is preceded by a small part A E curved coaxially around the pivot axis F and forming the hub of the valve; it allows the good establishment of a sealing device in 3. The curved part B C is followed by another curved part <I> C D </I> much smaller -and having a greater curvature. The <I> C D </I> part forms a guide for the discharge of small layers in the upper positions of the valve.
The <I> A E </I> part and the <I> C D </I> part can be more or less curved.
In the example shown, part B C is in the form of an arc of a circle with center G and radius B. It is understood that the shape of this curved part B C could be other than circular.
It has been found that in order to satisfy the various conditions imposed on the flow, it is not possible to choose the proportions of the elements A B and B C in any way whatever and that to obtain the best results, it is necessary that the ratio
EMI0002.0005
either between as
EMI0002.0006
upper limit and
EMI0002.0007
as the lower limit. B generally designates the radius of part B C if it is an arc of a circle or the mean radius of curvature of this part if it is non-circular. L represents the distance from the pivot axis F to the end point C of the curved part <I> B C. l </I> indicates the length of the straight part <I> AB </I> and <I > a </I> the length of the arc <I> B C. </I>
The mean radius of curvature, in the case of a non-circular part B 'C' (fig. \?) Will be between the radius of a circle not sant by the points B ', <I> C' </ I > and <I> II </I> and the radius of tn circle passing through the points <I> B ', C' and L; </I> II being the intersection of the arc and the perpendicular raised to the midpoint Ti of B 'C', while L is the point where a tangent <I> T </I> parallel <I> to B '</I> C' touches the are. The perpendicular <I> L </I> M <I> to B '</I> It is therefore the arrow of the are considered.
It is understood that part A B might not be mathematically straight, but only. practically straight line.
The valve described can be made either of metal, or of wood, or of concrete, or of a combination of at least two of these various materials.
The following remarks show that the described poppet valve panel meets the four conditions stated at the start.
1o Thanks to the strong curvature of part AE, which is located in the highest region when the panel is in the fully open position, it is ensured to have, in this position, the maximum flow; ? o Due to the curvature of parts A E and B C D, a correct connection of the panel with the structure is obtained, upstream and, above all, with the downstream facing;
30 Due to the curvature of the <I> BCD, </I> part away from the pivot axis F, the maximum torque due to the action of the weight of the water on the panel, which occurs for a position of this valve between those shown in the drawing, is greatly reduced, as a result of the action of the cen trifugal force acting on this water when it follows the arcuate course of its trajectory, on this part <I> BCD; </I> 40 The negative torque is as small as possible, thanks to the fact that the middle part AB is rectilinear or substantially rectilinear and that, therefore, the liquid vein not healthy on this part is not subjected to an effect of notable centrifugal force.
