Electrical system with an electrical switching device with periodically operated contact devices, in particular with a mechanical current converter. The invention relates to an improvement to an electrical system with an electrical switching device with mechanical contact devices which are periodically actuated, in particular with a mechanical current converter,
with interference protection device for the contact devices. In such systems, the switching contact of the interruption device, usually brought about by a synchronous drive motor, is synchronized with the current curve in such a way that the interruptions occur each time in a time span during which the instantaneous values of the current in the circuit to be interrupted are very small and therefore very small are practically negligible, so that little or no switching fire occurs.
The time sequence of the actuation of the various contact pairs of multiphase arrangements is determined by the drive device essentially according to the course of the voltage curve.
If a short circuit or an earth fault or a similar fault occurs in front of the contact device in the feeding network or behind the contact device in the system part that is being fed, equalization currents arise.
through which the phase symmetry and thus the regular phase sequence of the currents is disturbed. Under certain circumstances, the contacts would then be exposed to severe damage from arcing if the interruption processes were to be continued after the occurrence of the fault with the same regularity as before the occurrence of the fault.
It could then happen that the current flowing through a contact pair has a high value just at the moment when this contact pair opens again. According to the invention, the interference protection device includes a device which is influenced by the current to be interrupted and which, in the event of a fault, prevents the interruption of the circuit parts that are currently in a closed circuit and that run across the device.
This can be done in two ways, namely once through mechanical action on parts of the Antriebsvor device with the help of one or more mechanical triggers, or secondly by bridging the main contacts by auxiliary contacts connected in parallel, which are closed with the help of relays before the Regularly continuing mechanical drive device opens the associated main contacts again. The former 'way is particularly suitable for reciprocating contacts, e.g. B.
for lifting contacts, the type of valves of internal combustion engines by cams, cranks, eccentrics or the like. Are driven via plungers or similar intermediate elements. Electrical bridging is better suited for circumferential contact devices.
The mechanical blocking of the contacts that are just opened when the fault occurs can either be carried out in such a way that the contacts are held firmly in the open position; then there are no further short circuits, except those that are already present when the lock occurs, the z. B. be formed in a current converter from the currently in the commutation phases. For this purpose, two pawls must be provided, one for locking in the closed state and one for locking in the open state, or the locking pawl must be designed to be double-acting.
The mechanism becomes simpler if all contact pairs are blocked in the closed state. Those who are just open when the fault occurs are closed again in this case by the drive device in order to then be held in this position.
In order to prevent damage to the device from the currents rising rapidly as a result of the short circuit, quick-action switches or fuses with arc extinguishing devices known per se can be installed in the feed lines to the contact device, which cut off the power supply before the short-circuit currents have fully developed. High-speed switches deserve preference because they can be equipped with a device for automatic restart.
To control the protection device can, for. B. because of their almost inertia-free response and work with advantage Ent charge tubes (current gates, Ignitrons) whose control grid (or ignition electrode) is influenced by the current to be interrupted. be used.
The invention is of particular advantage for those devices which are preceded by a saturating, possibly premagnetized switching throttle, by which the curve of the 'N, #' echsel- current to be interrupted is distorted in such a way that a low-current pause near the current zero crossing of up to one or more milliseconds in duration, during which the current is negligibly small, whereby a preferably capacitive auxiliary current path can be laid parallel to the main contacts at the same time,
which slows down the rise of the voltage at the contacts so that the contact interruption takes place in normal operation without triggering fire. By such switching chokes, the level of the short-circuit current that forms is limited as a result of their inductance, which is very high, especially in the unsaturated state. With the appropriate design of the switching choke it can be achieved that the short-circuit current after its full development is of the same order of magnitude as the rated current, ie at most about two to four times the rated current.
Such a limited permanent short-circuit current can usually be endured for a period of time without damage, so that under certain circumstances, if the fault was only temporary, regular operation can be resumed without switching off. In the event of long-term malfunctions, a switching device that works less quickly than that specified above is sufficient to switch off the system.
It is known to arrange rectifier valves in two groups, one of which carries the positive, the other carries the negative half-waves of the current and directs it in the same way (Grätz circuit). Such a circuit can of course also be used in power converters with mechanical Kontakteinrich lines.
If such a circuit consists, for example, of two switching groups of three contact pairs each, which are fed by the secondary winding of a three-phase transformer, it is advantageous to use a common auxiliary switching device, which consists of three fixed contact pieces and one movable, to electrically bridge the three contact pairs of each group consists of these three fixed contact pieces overlaying bridge. Safe contact with a rigid plate is just possible with three support points.
This separation of the short-circuiters in two groups avoids a direct short-circuit of the direct current network. The triggering of these parallel contacts is conveniently done magnetically via a grid-controlled gas discharge tube (current gate).
This can get its ignition pulse from six saturating chokes, which like the switching chokes mentioned above have a high-quality silicon iron, are pushed over the six main anode leads of the rectifier, and which are premagnetized in such a way that they are pre-magnetized during normal operation Operation are always saturated and only come out of saturation when reverse current occurs and then ignite the current gate via the grid.
These chokes also delay the increase in the short-circuit current, as they are one or more orders of magnitude higher when passing through the desaturation state. Have resistance value until it jumps back to a negligibly small value in the opposite direction after reaching the saturation limit.
You can also let a voltage act on the grid of the discharge tube to control the bridging effecting auxiliary switching devices, which is supplied by the armature current of a small synchronous motor that depends on the feeding three-phase voltage. As soon as this spei-sending three-phase voltage is disturbed, the armature current of the synchronous motor will suddenly change and the current gate will ignite.
You can excite the rotor of the synchronous motor from the DC voltage and then get an ignition of the current gate even with sudden changes in the DC voltage.
The mechanical auxiliary switching devices can advantageously be replaced by mercury vapor vessels, which are ignited at the moment of the fault. The ignition can take place as with the Ignitron. It is advisable to use liquid mercury for both electrodes in order to have a current flow in both directions. The voltage drop of the ignited tube would be around 20 volts, small enough to protect the main contacts from fire.
Pipes for a reverse voltage of 10,000 V can be manufactured practically. Since the current only flows for a fraction of a second and is then interrupted by a high-speed switch or the like, currents of 5000 A are still permissible in small, melted glass vessels. The ignition can be brought about by a grid-controlled gas discharge tube (electricity gate) and a capacitor surge in less than 10-4 seconds. For a six-phase rectifier in a Graetz circuit, two vessels with three anodes each are required.
Since the vessels are de-energized in normal operation, they have a high level of voltage security. The costs and effort for the ignition% are probably lower than with mechanical relays, since these become larger the faster they are supposed to switch.
