Mittel steg nach der Linie IH-III der Fig. 23 Fig. 4 und 5 sind Querschnitte nach den Linien IV-IV und V-V der Fig."2; Fig. 6 zeigt das zur .Herstellung des Mittelteils der Gaumenplatte dienende Ge- senk in schaubildlicher Darstellung; Fig. 7 zeigt eine etwas abgeänderte Ans> führungsform des in der Aussparung der Gaumenplatte liegenden Teils in Draufsicht;
Rubber palate plate: The usual rubber palate plates for artificial dentures have the disadvantage that they are uncomfortable for the user of the artificial dentition, partially impede speaking and swallowing and impair the taste, as they are relatively moderately heavy, do not sit firmly on the palate and the latter cover to a large extent. The subject of the present invention is a rubber palate plate which largely eliminates these disadvantages.
The invention consists in that webs are located in a recess in the palate plate, which are hollowed out on the side facing the palate.
In the drawing, three exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown, namely: Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the rubber palate plate in plan view, Fig. 2 the part lying in the recess of the palate plate in plan view, Fig. 3 shows the longitudinal section through the.
Central web along the line IH-III in FIG. 23; FIGS. 4 and 5 are cross-sections along the lines IV-IV and VV in FIG. 2; FIG. 6 shows the die used to produce the central part of the palatal plate in FIG Fig. 7 shows a somewhat modified embodiment of the part lying in the recess of the palatal plate in a plan view;
Fig. 8 is a cross section on the line VIH-VBI of Fig. 7; Fig. 9 shows another hollow channel shape in cross section.
The palatal plate b carrying the artificial teeth cr consists in all execution forms only of a relatively flat body aas rubber, which is recessed approximately half-round in the middle and accommodates the actual palate suction part. The latter consists of thin webs made of metal, preferably light metal, or other material, which are hollowed out on the side facing the palate and designed as hollow channels so that they suck firmly onto the palate. The webs o designed as hollow channels are connected to a common center web d, from which they branch off radially to both sides and are distributed over the palatal surface.
The central web d is provided in its longitudinal direction within the hollow groove with a rib-like heightening f, which corresponds to the longitudinal suture of the palate.
The hollow channel-like webs c, d can, as in the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 5, run smoothly or be rounded at the longitudinal edges, or the longitudinal edges, as in FIGS. 7 and 8, according to the the side opposite the rounding of the hollow grooves must be bent so that the edges 1c protrude from the palate. In the latter case, opposite to the central channel ver running smaller longitudinal channels arise on the longitudinal edges, which give the hollow channel webs greater rigidity.
The longitudinal edges of the hollow channels can also, as is indicated in FIG. 9 at m, be beaded or otherwise thickened.
The individual hollow channel webs e, d can have different shapes, for which two shapes are shown in FIGS. 1 to 6 and 7 to 9.
The connection of the palate suction part to the palate plate b takes place at the ends of the webs c having the grooves by vulcanization or in some other way.
For this purpose, the ends of the webs c, as can be seen from Fig. 2, with z. B. hemispherical or otherwise shaped indentations or pressings g, which facilitate the firm connection with the palate plate b. Furthermore, the ends of the hollow channels, as shown in dotted lines in FIG. 7, can be connected to a circumferential wire o or the like, which is vulcanized into the edge part b.
The actual palate suction part forms in all embodiments a coherent piece that consists of several thin webs c designed as hollow channels, which leave many recesses between them for the passage of the natural palate, so that unpleasant foreign bodies on the palate are kept as small as possible . The hollow suction channels nestle lightly and firmly against the palate and are barely noticeable for the wearer. The tongue and the food can touch the natural palate over a large area so that the taste is not significantly impaired or lost.
Due to their hollow-channel-like shape, the webs also largely rule out the risk of bending, which is quite great when suction cup recesses are used in holding arms. The hollow channel shape gives the webs great rigidity against bending, while on the other hand this also enables the use of very thin sheet metal. This in turn reduces weight and avoids the annoying feeling of excessive fullness in the mouth. Due to the lightness of the palate suction part, speaking and swallowing are not noticeably hindered.
Furthermore, a considerable saving in rubber material and precious metal is achieved.
The production of the palate suction part can take place, for example, in a die h (FIG. 6) which is provided with a die part i corresponding to the shape of the palate suction body. The piece is punched and finished with a corresponding stamp. embossed. Depending on the type of material used, production can also take place in other ways.
When manufacturing in the die, the flat, radial hollow channel piece is bent accordingly according to the respective shape of the palate impression obtained by the known palate impression method and connected to the palate plate b. The palate suction part can also be subjected to an annealing, hardening and other treatment, for example in acids, in order to make the metal accordingly soft or hard.
