Description
Cover for plaster bandages. For the production of plaster casts who used the plaster bandages. For storage and shipping of the plaster bandages, the latter are provided with a paper sleeve. If a plaster of paris bandage with such a plaster bandage is Herge, the plaster bandage is placed in water together with the paper cover. So that the water has easy access to the inside of the plaster of paris bandage, that is to say to the plaster of paris, the cover is made of paper that is easily permeable to water. The easier the wrapping paper lets water through, the less firm it is when it is wet. The wet paper envelope can therefore in most cases not be removed from the plaster of paris cast, which is saturated with water, or only with a great deal of loss of time.
The purpose of the present invention is; in eliminating this disadvantage, and this is done according to the invention in that the envelope is made of gauze in addition to paper. This gauze does not reduce the water permeability and increases the cohesion of the wet cover sufficiently to allow it to be removed quickly and easily from the plaster of paris bandage.
The cover can, for example, be covered with the gauze strip on the side that comes to lie on the plaster bandage, which is attached, for example glued, to the paper, which is permeable to water, at least on one of the gante running transversely to the longitudinal edges . Gauze strips and paper can have the same width or at least approximately the same width. However, the gauze strip can also be provided on that side of the cover that does not come to rest on the plaster bandage. The gauze could also be embedded in the paper pulp during the manufacture of the envelope.
The gauze strip can be attached to one or at the ganten of the paper running transversely to the longitudinal edges, for example glued, pressed on or embossed, or else just crimped over the above-mentioned or over both paper edges.
