Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Kondensationsproduktes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man durch Kon densation von 1-Halogen-2-nitrobenzol-4-alkyl- sulfoxyden mit aromatischen Aminen Konden sationsprodukte der Diphenylaminreihe erhält, die sich insbesondere zum Färben von Lacken und Acetatseide eignen. Man erhält mit diesen neuen Produkten lebhaft gelbe bis orange gelbe Farbtöne von sehr guten Echtheitseigen schaften, insbesondere von hervorragender Lichtechtheit.
Vorliegendes Patent bezieht sich nun auf ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Konden sationsproduktes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man 1-Chlor-2-nitrobenzol-4. metbylsulfoxyd mit p-Toluidin kondensiert.
Das so erhaltene 4'-Methyl-2-nitrodiphe- nylamin-4-methylsulfoxyd kristallisiert aus Methanol in gelben Kristallen vom Smp. 143 bis 144' und färbt Acetatseide in gelben Tönen von herrvorragender Lichtechtheit. <I>Beispiel:</I> 5 Teile 1-Chlor-2-nitrobenzol-4-methyl- sulfoxyd vom Schmelzpunkt<B>950</B> und 5 Teile p-Toluidin werden etwa eine halbe Stunde auf<B>150-160'</B> erwärmt. Hierauf wird mit etwa 20 Teilen Alkohol verdünnt und die Lösung heiss filtriert.
Beim Erkalten scheidet sich das gebildete 4'-Methyl-2-nitrodiphenyl- amin-4-methylsulfoxyd in gelben Kristallen aus.

It has been found that condensation of 1-halo-2-nitrobenzene-4-alkyl sulfoxides with aromatic amines gives condensation products of the diphenylamine series, which are particularly suitable for dyeing paints and acetate silk. With these new products, vivid yellow to orange-yellow shades with very good fastness properties, in particular excellent lightfastness, are obtained.
The present patent now relates to a process for the preparation of a condensation product, characterized in that 1-chloro-2-nitrobenzene-4. metbylsulfoxyd condensed with p-toluidine.
The 4'-methyl-2-nitrodiphenylamine-4-methylsulfoxide obtained in this way crystallizes from methanol in yellow crystals with a melting point of 143 to 144 'and dyes acetate silk in yellow shades of excellent lightfastness. <I> Example: </I> 5 parts of 1-chloro-2-nitrobenzene-4-methylsulfoxide with a melting point of <B> 950 </B> and 5 parts of p-toluidine are brought to <B> 150 for about half an hour -160 '</B> heated. It is then diluted with about 20 parts of alcohol and the solution is filtered while hot.
On cooling, the 4'-methyl-2-nitrodiphenylamine-4-methylsulfoxide formed separates out in yellow crystals.
