Brennkraftmaschine.
Fig. 1 zeigt eine Brennkraftmaschine mit einem von zwei Regelvorrichtungen einstell baren Anschlag für die Regelstange der Brennstoffpumpen; Fig. 2 ist ein Diagramm, das die Wir kungsweise veranschaulicht; Fig. 3 und 4 zeigen die Abänderung von Einzelheiten aus Fig. 1; Fig. 5 zeigt eine Brennkraftmaschine mit mittelbarer Kraftübertragung und die Ein wirkung von zwei Regelvorrichtungen auf das Gestänge zwischen einem Geschwindig keitsregler und einer Regelvorrichtung für die mittelbare Kraftübertragung;
Fig. 5 zeigt eine Brennkraftmaschine mit elektrischer Kraftübertragung.
Internal combustion engine. The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with supercharging and consists in the fact that a device limits the fuel supply at least temporarily, both as a function of the supercharging pressure and as a function of the speed of the internal combustion engine. The device is advantageously designed as a limiting device.
A supercharging pressure dependent device causes with increasing boost pressure an increase in the limit value of the adjustable amount of fuel and a device dependent on the speed, however, a reduction of this limit value with increasing speed.
The load capacity of internal combustion engines with call charge is heavily dependent on the available combustion and scavenging air and / or. on the level of the call boost pressure. It has therefore already been proposed to limit the fuel supply depending on the level of the Ruflade pressure.
If the charging fan is driven by the internal combustion engine or a turbine acted upon by its exhaust gases, the highest torque can only be removed at the highest speed, since in any other case the charging pressure is lower and, depending on it, the amount of fuel is kleini ner.
However, practical operation has shown that with supercharged internal combustion engines, especially those with turbocharger driven by exhaust gas turbines, at low speeds and with Ruflade, pressures that are below the maximum value, without any danger to the internal combustion engine, this maximum value of the Rufladedruckes and the highest speed Almost or entirely the corresponding torque can be removed.
The invention enables the advantage of being able to operate internal combustion engines almost or entirely with the torque permissible at the highest speed and the highest call boost pressure even at low speeds, without. that the internal combustion engine would be at risk at higher speeds. This is particularly important, for example, for internal combustion engines with mechanical power transmission which are used to drive a vehicle, because the greatest possible torque is then available for starting precisely at the lower speeds.
In the drawing, some injection internal combustion engines are shown schematically as an embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows an internal combustion engine with one of two control devices adjustable ble stop for the control rod of the fuel pumps; Fig. 2 is a diagram illustrating the manner of operation; Figures 3 and 4 show the modification of details from Figure 1; Fig. 5 shows an internal combustion engine with indirect power transmission and the action of two control devices on the linkage between a speed controller and a control device for the indirect power transmission;
Fig. 6 shows an internal combustion engine that gives its power via a clutch with Rege development of the transmitted torque.
The internal combustion engine A in FIG. 1 is coupled to the transmission B. The internal combustion engine A is charged by the charging group C, which consists of the exhaust gas turbine 1 and the compressor 2. The compressor 2 sucks in air through the filter 3 and pushes it into the charging air line 4, from where it enters the 5 individual Arbeitszylin.
The control device D ar works depending on the boost pressure. E are the fuel pumps, F the speed controller of the internal combustion engine and G the control device which operates depending on the speed and which, together with the control device D, determines the greatest fuel supply to the pumps E, and H the cooling water pump.
The control device D has a spring box 7 protruding into the space 6. The space 6 is connected to the charging air line by the line 8, while the spring box 7 is loaded by the spring 9 against the charging pressure. The lever 10 ver binds the spring socket 7 with the slide 11 and the single-acting piston 12 in the servo motor cylinder 13. The slide 11 ver connects the space above the piston 12 with the pressure medium supply line 14, respectively. with the drain line 15 and the piston 12 is loaded by the spring 16 against the pressure of the pressure medium, a liquid or a gas.
Furthermore, the piston 12 is connected to the angle lever 17, the pivot point 18 of which is attached to the lever 20 rotatable about the fixed axis of rotation 19. The lever 20 is set by the control device G with the spring box 22. The Ge housing 21 of the spring socket 22 is connected through the device 23 to the pressure port 24 of the cooling water pump H. The spring box 22 is loaded against the water pressure by the spring 25 and ver with the lower arm of the lever 20 by the linkage 26 connected. The stop 27 on the lever 17 limits the displacement of the control rod 28 for all fuel pumps E to the left. The control rod 28 represents the amount of fuel delivered by the individual Pum pen E in a manner not presented. The control rod 28 is connected to the sleeve of the speed controller F via a flexible member 29.
The adjustment of the arm of the lever 17 carrying the stop 27 is limited by the stop pins 30 and 31.
In Fig. 2 is the torque. by B-lines, the ordinate of which also corresponds to the amount of fuel supplied for these torques, as a function of the speed. If the torque is kept constant at the highest value B 'permitted for the internal combustion engine, for example by continuously adjusting the speed of the speed controller or if there is a dependency ratio between the torque taken and the speed, by setting the injected fuel quantity unchanged,
the required boost pressure runs according to curve p'a. The curve p '"shows that for the same torque B' at the lowest speed n," i "a significantly lower call boost pressure pal than at the highest speed nm .. is sufficient.
If a limitation device working only as a function of the charging pressure were to set the fuel supply so that the highest adjustable amount of fuel is only reduced by the limitation device when the charging pressure falls below the value pal, the combustion would be at the lowest speed - engine not endangered.
At all higher speeds, however, this limiting device would come into operation too late, so that if the speed of the internal combustion engine is increased, the limiting device, due to the increasing boost pressure, release the setting of a greater torque than Bi and thus a larger amount of fuel would.
However, increasing the torque beyond B, would be inadmissible because B, represents the greatest torque that may be set on the internal combustion engine within the speed range of n ", i" to n ", aX, with undisturbed charging conditions, for the torque B1 in-ass at n "" 1, for example, the call boost pressure, so that no air deficiency occurs, have the value p ".
If at nm "., The call boost pressure falls below the value P" 3, the limiting device would not yet function and the torque B1 at n "," remains set until the call boost pressure falls below the value p " Even if a small reduction in the call boost pressure at nm "z.
B. to the value p "would still be permissible in order to avoid the limitation device intervening too quickly, the internal combustion engine would have a lack of air with the aforementioned setting of the limiting device to the call boost pressure p", at all call boost pressures between pa2 and pa. This would result in poor combustion, afterburn, etc., which puts the internal combustion engine at great risk.
With the limiting devices that only work depending on the boost pressure, the limitation of the fuel supply must therefore be set according to the conditions under n.a. As a result, when the charging pressure decreases, the torque and also the fuel supply according to curve B "decrease. This has the consequence that the charging pressure now runs according to curve Va" and, as the highest torque at ni ", only the rotation far below B" moment BZ may be set.
The largest adjustable amount of fuel in the internal combustion engine according to FIG. 1 is determined both by the control device D, which operates as a function of the charge pressure, and by the control device G, which operates as a function of the speed, namely, the device D causes an increase with increasing charge pressure, the device G, however, a reduction in the maximum amount of fuel that can be set with increasing speed.
Since the two control devices jointly determine the position of the stop 27 for limiting the adjustment of the fuel pump flow control element, namely the control rod 28, which is influenced by the speed controller, in the manner explained above, it can be achieved that in each case when the call boost pressure is at a Be certain speed drops below the value to be taken from the curve p 'for this speed, the maximum amount of fuel that can be set is limited to an amount that corresponds to a lower torque than B.
As a result, it is not only possible, please include to set the maximum amount of fuel allowed for all speeds with undisturbed charging conditions, but the protection of the internal combustion engine by the limiting device also occurs in good time at all speeds.
All positions on the control devices are drawn as they appear in the idle state. If the internal combustion engine is put into operation and allowed to idle at the lowest speed, the left end of the control rod 28 of the fuel pumps E is shifted to the left into the idle position. But there is still a gap between the stop 27 and the left end of the fuel control rod 28. When idling at the lowest speed of the internal combustion engine A, the charging pressure is not sufficient to overcome the resistance force of the spring socket 7 and the spring 9 of the control device D.
The pressure of the cooling water pump H generated at this speed is also not yet able to overcome the counterforce of the spring box 22 and the spring 25 of the device G. If the transmission B and thus the vehicle is now coupled to the internal combustion engine A, the speed of the brake engine drops at the moment. The speed controller F reacts to this reduction in speed by filling the fuel pumps E with more. For the time being, the controller F can only give the filling in which the control rod 28 abuts on stop 27. The further movement of the controller F is taken up by the spring member 29, which is pressed together accordingly: is.
The increase in the filling also increases the puffenergie and thus an increase in the speed of turbine 1 and blower 2. The boost pressure also rises accordingly and now overcomes the counter force of the spring box 7 and the spring 9 the lever 10 and the slide 11 move upwards. The pressurized oil can pass through the line 14 into the space above the piston 12 and press it downwards. As a result, the stop 27 moves to the left and allows the controller F to give the fuel pumps E more filling.
If the internal combustion engine A and the charging group C are in order, the charging pressure increases until the stop 27 has released the filling of the fuel pumps E necessary for the maximum permissible torque Bi. The internal combustion engine now runs at the lowest speed ni "i" and outputs a large torque at a relatively low charging pressure. The piston 12 in FIG. 1 has not yet made its entire stroke.
If the speed of the brake engine increases as a result of the acceleration of the vehicle, the speed of the water pump H, which is rigidly coupled to the internal combustion engine, and thus the water pressure generated, also increases. This pushes the rod 26 against the force of the spring 25 and the spring socket 22 to the left. The lever 20 rotates and moves the axis of rotation 18 and thus the stop 27 to the right. As the speed of the internal combustion engine increases, the device G shifts the stop 27 in the sense of reducing the fuel pump charge.
At the same time, however, as a result of the increase in the speed of the internal combustion engine and the fuel pump charge remaining approximately the same, the speed of the charging group and thus the boost pressure also increase. The latter enables a larger filling by means of the device D. The two devices D and G are now matched to one another in such a way that the increase in filling of one is compensated for by a reduction in the other. This ensures that the fuel pump filling remains approximately constant from the lowest to the highest speed and always corresponds to the torque B.
In order to rule out any risk to the internal combustion engine if the device G fails, the maximum fuel pump filling is limited by the stop pin 31.
If, for whatever reason, the charging group C remains behind when the engine speed increases and the charging pressure remains below the normal value, then the device D cannot compensate for the reduction in the charge of the device G, i.e. the internal combustion engine A receives only as much fuel as is permissible with regard to the charge pressure and is therefore protected against overload.
In the same way, the Vorrich device D works even if one or more working cylinders fail. As soon as a cylinder is no longer working, its exhaust energy is also missing, the speed of the turbine 1 drops and the boost pressure also decreases. The device D reacts to the reduction in the call boost pressure by reducing the permissible fuel supply. In this case too, the internal combustion engine A is protected from overload.
In the case of vehicle engines, in most operating cases, for example in the event of a sudden failure of the charging group, the number of revolutions of the internal combustion engine drops rapidly and internal combustion engine A may come to a complete standstill.
In such a case, the vehicle driver is forced to turn off the transmission step by step until the still available torque of the internal combustion engine is able to move the vehicle. In. In practice, it has been shown that, for example, with the fan 2 at a standstill, i.e. without charging, the internal combustion engine A can still deliver approximately half of the full-load torque at all operating speeds.
In order to avoid that with n. @ That already. is reduced even further by the device G to approximately half the reduced amount of fuel, the movement of the stop 27 to the right, and thus the restriction of the fuel supply downwards, is limited by a fixed stop pin 30 (Fix. 1).
In Fig. 3 the device G is assembled with the device D. Instead of the pivot point 18 of the lever 17 being moved, the position of the slide sleeve 33 is changed via the linkage 32. As soon as the device G receives pressure via the line 23, the linkage 32 moves upwards against the force of the spring socket 22 and the spring 25 and displaces the slide sleeve 33. This reduces the filling of the fuel pumps E. On the device G could, instead of the pressure of the water pump, the pressure of another pump, e.g. B.
the lubricating oil pump act, which changes with the speed of the internal combustion engine.
In FIG. 4, the device G has a centrifugal governor J. The weights 34, which work against the spring 35, have a very specific position for each speed of the internal combustion engine. The regulator sleeve 36 ver provides a control slide 37, which controls the inlet and outlet of a pressure medium, for. B.
Pressure oil, controls, which actuates a single-acting servomotor piston 38 against a spring 39. The piston 38 actuates the rod 32 and the slide bushing 33 (fix.
3), namely when the speed of the internal combustion engine A increases in the sense of a reduction in the fuel pump charge. A correspondingly powerful regulator could also actuate the sliding sleeve 33 directly.
Fig. 5 shows an internal combustion engine with electrical power transmission. Instead of the mechanical transmission B, a generator R 'has entered here. The system is also equipped with an L field control. This has a servomotor, the piston 41 of which is controlled by means of the control slide 42 and a ver adjustable slide sleeve 43, which can be set by the manually operated lever 44 a.
The piston rod 45 actuates the contact lever 46 of the electrical resistor 47 and thus influences the field of the generator g 'and thus its power consumption. The slide 42 is actuated by the regulator F in that the linkage 48 to 51 connects the slide 42 and also the regulating rod 28 to the sleeve of the regulator F.
There is an essential difference between the speed adjustment for vehicle internal combustion engines with mechanical power transmission and that with electrical power transmission.
In the case of mechanical power transmission, the instantaneous speed of the internal combustion engine does not always match the position of the speed adjustment device, but the speed of the internal combustion engine can only increase due to the rigid connection of the internal combustion engine with the vehicle transmission when the vehicle speed increases . It is different with electrical power transmission, especially in systems that have field control.
Here the speed of the internal combustion engine always has the value set from the driver's cab. In such a case, it is therefore also possible, please include the device G, which influences the amount of fuel as a function of the speed of the internal combustion engine. to be operated directly from the speed of the adjusting device.
In FIG. 5, a speed adjustment device with three stages is now provided. The positions of the linkage, levers and pistons are shown when the internal combustion engine is at a standstill. The control rod 28 is in the extreme position on the left, which corresponds to the zero filling of the fuel pumps E, signed net. In the regulator, the force of the spring 56 has pushed the weights 58 'into the innermost position due to the lack of centrifugal force.
In order not to have to overcome the spring force of the controller when the internal combustion engine is switched off, an elastic member 50 'is switched on in the linkage 50, which allows the fuel pumps to be set to position 0 while the controller sleeve is in the lowest position. If the engine is in operation, the centrifugal force will throw the centrifugal weights 58 'of the controller F outwards. On the elastic member 50 'only acts the resistance to movement of the regulating rod 28, which is overcome by the spring in the elastic member 50'. In normal operation, therefore, the linkage 50 acts with the elastic member 50 'as a rigid connection.
The speed adjustment device is drawn for the lowest speed. To turn on the second and third stage is BEZW through line 52. 53 a pressure medium the space above the piston 54 respectively. 55 supplied, which is thereby pressed down, to the spring 56 respectively effective in the first stage. the springs 56 and 57 respectively the spring 57. 58 switched on. At each stage the piston and therewith also the spindle 59 have a different position.
The spindle 59 is connected to the joint 62 of the lever 63 by the lever 60 and the rod 61, so that each position of the piston 55 corresponds to a certain position of the joint 62. The joint 64 of the lever 63 is adjusted by the servomotor piston 12 of the device D Regelvor. With increasing speed, the joint 62 goes up and the joint 64 is lowered with increasing Ruflade pressure, so that when the Ruflade pressure increases according to the increase in speed, the position of the joint 65 remains almost unchanged.
The joint 65 is connected to the joint 66 in the linkage 50 and its movement causes an increase or decrease in the length of the linkage 50 between the lever 51 connected to the sleeve of the regulator F and the lever 48 through toggle action. The lever 48 acts over a handlebar 48 'and the lever 48 "on the control slide 42. The control slide 42 directs pressure medium depending on its position under or over the piston 41, which last terer over the rod 45 and the lever 46 the resistor 47 in the excitation circuit of the generator K and so that its performance changes from the internal combustion engine.
If, for example, the joint 66 now goes up as a result of an increase in the speed of the internal combustion engine or as a result of the decrease in the boost pressure, the knee joint stretches and the connection between the linkage 50 and the lever 48 becomes longer. This has the consequence that the control slide 42 is moved downwards and pressure medium pushes the piston 41 upwards and thereby more resistance 47 switches on in the circuit of the excitation of the generator K. The power consumption of the generator is therefore reduced and the internal combustion engine is thus relieved.
As a result, their speed increases and the controller F sets the slide 42 back to its neutral position. If the reverse regulation process occurs, for example when the boost pressure increases, the joint 66 goes down and the power consumption of the generator is influenced in the sense of an increase.
In electrical power transmission, it is common not to drive through an entire speed range from nm; n to g "" "as in mechanical power transmission, but rather some very specific speed ranges are selected. In order to obtain a performance graduation, the internal combustion engine is used at The low speeds very often only loaded with part of the permissible torque. In this case, the device G does not have the same meaning as in the case of mechanical power transmission.
Nevertheless, it also offers significant advantages here if instead of the embodiment according to FIG. 5, where the control device D and G act on the joint 66 in the linkage 50, the simpler execution of a stop 27 as in FIG. 1 is applied. The clearance between the left end of the control rod 28 of the fuel pumps E and the stop 27 can then be kept much larger than with mechanical power transmission. This is especially important in the case of speed increases during which the internal combustion engine A is loaded. At the moment the speed increase, the controller F can give the fuel pump E maximum filling. The rod 28 moves to the left until it hits the stop 27.
The elastic member 29 absorbs the further movement of the controller. The greater the margin between 28 and 27, the greater the acceleration of the speed and the faster the speed change is carried out. This is particularly important when driving through critical speeds.
In Fig. 6, the devices D and G are closely assembled and operate another device M. This regulates the transmitted torque of a not signed designated vehicle clutch, which can be designed as a friction, electromagnetic, hydrostatic or hydrodynamic clutch, primarily in the start-up period depending on the available torque. On the one hand, it prevents the internal combustion engine from being stalled and brought to a standstill and, on the other hand, allows the full available torque to be used.
The device M comprises the slide housing 67, the slide bushing 68 and the slide 69. The slide 69 is connected by means of the rod 70 to the control rod 28 of the fuel pump E, while the position of the slide bushing 68 depends on the position of the lever 71 resp. of the servo motor piston 72 depends. The various parts are drawn in the idle position.
In. In this position, the pressure medium can pass through the line 73 into the slide bushing 68 and from there to the line 74, which leads to the vehicle clutch, as soon as a manually operated shut-off element switched on in this line is opened. If this shut-off device is opened when starting up, the internal combustion engine is coupled to the vehicle. Power is taken from the internal combustion engine. The control rod 28 moves to the left, and thus also the slide 69. The control edge 75 closes the outlet opening 76 in the sleeve 68 and then opens the pressure medium outlet 78 of the sleeve 68 with the edge 77.
As a result, the pressure medium can flow out of the coupling via the lines 74 and 79 and the drain line 80. As a result, the clutch pressure is reduced and adapted to the available torque of the internal combustion engine. If the boost pressure increases, the upper arm of the lever 71 moves to the left and enables the clutch pressure to be increased.
This adaptability of the clutch pressure when starting up as a function of the permissible torque is particularly desirable in internal combustion engines with supercharging by exhaust gas turbines. Because the greatest possible torque is to be aimed for precisely when starting, which is always automatically set by means of the device 31. The functioning of the devices D and G in FIG. 6 is the same as in FIGS. 3 and 4. Only the spring 81 is provided between the slide 11 and the slide bushing 33.
This makes it possible that when the controller J in the working position has shifted the slide bushing 33 by a considerable distance to the left, the slide 11 is already in the correct position relative to it. This avoids the suspension box 7 having to be compressed by the call loading pressure until the lever 10 has reached the working position 82 shown in broken lines. In addition, where in the drawing a single spring to load the Fe derungsdose, piston, etc. is indicated, several springs can be used, which come into engagement after one another, for the purpose of obtaining a special characteristic of the control device.
In the embodiments according to FIGS. 3, 4, 5 and 6, a limitation by the stop pin 31 as in FIG. 1 is not necessary. In Fig. 3, 4 and 6, the lowest, respectively. the outermost position to the left of the piston 12 respectively. 72 the filling limit and in Fig. 5 be read the field regulation L, in that this prevents the power consumption of the generator beyond the permissible load capacity of the internal combustion engine A by switching on further resistance levels.
In the embodiments of FIGS. 3, 4 and 6, the stop 30 from FIG. 1 by the position of the piston 12, respectively. 72 effective limitation at the top resp. left cover formed.
Instead of regulating the fuel supply by means of the control rod 28 by the speed controller F of the internal combustion engine, the fuel supply can also be set by hand, for example by means of a remote transmission device from the control station of a vehicle.
