Fig. 1 zeigt das Schaltbild einer dreiphasigen Gleichrichteranordnung.
Der Strom i2 steigt also rasch an.

Fig. 6 zeigt schliess lich den F--11, dass I; gleich dem doppelten Wert des Sättigungswertes i, ist.
In Fig. i ist I, gleich i,.
Arrangement to achieve a sparkless commutation in transforming devices working with periodically moving switch contacts .. It has already become known to switch inductance coils in series with the switching contacts in order to transform devices that work with periodically moving switching contacts, the inductance of which changes when falling below a certain limit by the current flowing through it increases by leaps and bounds as a result of desaturation.
This ensures that the current in the contact to be opened is reduced so much when the current is transferred that arcing can no longer occur. In-depth investigations have shown that the current transfer ratios depend on the load in such conversion devices, so that it is not always easily possible to set the switching times in relation to the period of the alternating voltage so that a faultless one for all loads Electricity transfer is secured.
The invention relates to an arrangement for achieving a sparkless commutation in Umformungseinrich lines working with periodically moving switching contacts for currents BEZW. Voltages at which choke coils are connected in series with the switching contacts, the inductivity of which changes suddenly when a certain amount is reached due to their load current.
According to the invention, a control device is provided that at least in a certain load range of the load on the converter changes the mutual position of the switching times on the one hand and the pieces of the curves of the currents flowing through the switching contacts flattened due to the desaturation of the choke coils on the other hand so that the contact is always disconnected within a period of time,
meanwhile, at least one inductor lying in series with the contact to be opened is desaturated and the current to be interrupted is below a critical value in absolute terms. The term "critical value" is to be understood here as the value of the choke current that also flows through the associated switching contact, which is not yet sufficient for an arcing to occur when the contact pieces are separated. The critical limit defined in this way is for currents in the vicinity of 1 amp.
The invention may be explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings who the. Since the processes involved in the transfer of electricity are easiest to overlook when the conversion device is working as a rectifier, this operating case should be used as an example for explanation. Fig. 1 shows the circuit diagram of a three-phase rectifier arrangement. 1, 2 and 3 are the three secondary phase windings of the spei send three-phase transformer. By periodically closing and opening the switching contacts 7,
8 and 9, the three-phase alternating current supplied by the transformer is converted into direct current and fed to the consumer 11 via a smoothing inductance 10. In series with the switching contacts 7, 8 and 9, one of the highly saturated choke coils 4, 5 and 6 is connected. The transfer of current from one contact to the subsequent contact is initiated by the fact that the subsequent contact is closed. Both contacts then remain closed at the same time for a while, until the contact to be released is opened. In Fig. 1, for example, the contacts 7 and 8 are shown in the closed state. Meow he knows that during the time when both contacts are closed at the same time.
a self-short-circuited circuit is in. The driving voltage is the difference between the voltages of phase 1 and phase 2 is effective.
In Fig. 2 the time course of the phase voltages e, and e ;. in the windings 1 respectively. 2 shown as a curve. For the sake of simplicity, it may be assumed that the subsequent contact is made exactly at the point in time when e, equals e2. The voltage effective in the short-circuit is then equal to the difference between e "and e, at every instant.
The short-circuit current ik, which is caused by this resulting voltage, is given in its temporal course by the size of the inductances of the short-circuit circuit, i.e. by the leakage inductances of the transformer windings and the inductances of the choke coils connected in series with the contacts.
Since the difference between e and e shows a sinusoidal course, the course of the short-circuit current, once the inductances are assumed to be constant, must also be sinusoidal. The resulting short-circuit current will be greater, the smaller the total inductance of the circuit.
In the lower part of FIG. 2, the course of the short-circuit current over time is shown for three different constant values of the total inductance.
ik, for example, the short-circuit current when the two inductors 4 and 5 in your circuit are saturated, so that the total inductance of the circuit is made up of the leakage inductances of the transformer windings and the air inductances of both chokes.
ik-, may be the short-circuit current that sets when one of the two chokes is desaturated, and ik, may ultimately apply in the event that both chokes are desaturated.
The magnetic behavior of the choke coils may now be such that there is practically no saturation below a certain amount of current, but that when this amount of current is exceeded, the saturation rises abruptly to its maximum value. Above the saturation current value, only the air inductance of the choke coils is then effective.
The simplified magnetization characteristic of such a choke coil is shown in Fig. 3. B15 <B> z11 </B> the saturation value ig, the magnetic induction B rises very steeply with the 31, agnetization current i, to reduce when the limit i " to continue according to the magnetization characteristic as it applies to air.
If the ratio of the assumed constant permeability of the core of the choke with magnetizing currents below i 'to the permeability of the air is denoted by u, the self-induction coefficient of the choke coil is approximately in the range from -i to -f- i , u times as large as outside this range.
If the magnetizing current falls below the value i6, the inductance of the choke jumps to about .n times.
With the help of the following figures it should be explained which current curve results at the two detaching contacts when the load on the conversion device, in the present example the size of the consumer direct current, is variable. It may be assumed that the saturation current for the chokes i ″, as a result of suitable dimensioning, corresponds to the critical current ikr, which can still be interrupted by the switching contacts without damaging arcing.
The assumption should also be made that the subsequent contact always closes at the point in time when the voltage equals and that the rectified current is completely smoothed. The latter assumption has the consequence that at any moment the sum of the currents in the two contacts closed at the same time must always be equal to the consumer direct current. So at every instant il + i2 must be Ig.
In FIGS. 4 to 8, the ordinates are the currents il and i, of the two separating contacts 7 respectively. 8 and as the abscissa the time t respectively. the magnetic induction in the choke coils B applied.
For the sake of simplicity, the pieces of the current curves are not drawn sinusoidally in FIGS. 4 to 9, as it would be strictly speaking, but the course of the currents is composed of straight pieces.
Fig. 4 initially shows the conditions for a relatively large load current h. Before the point in time to, ie before the commutation process begins, contact 1 alone carries the entire direct current I, so for as long as il is equal to Ig. Since I ,. is significantly greater than the saturation value i8,
which results from the magnetization characteristic of the chokes, indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 4, the choke connected upstream of contact 1 is saturated, that is to say has only its low inductance. As soon as contact 2 is closed at the time - to, this creates a short-circuit circuit in which a short-circuit current is generated which corresponds to the current i,
in the contact 1 is directed opposite. The contact 2 only carries this short-circuit current. To the same extent as the short-circuit current in contact 2 increases, the current i, decreases. in contact 1. Since the short-circuit current only starts to develop from zero, the choke in series with contact 2 is initially still unsaturated; In the short circuit there is a saturated and an unsaturated choke in series.
The increase in the current would therefore follow the middle curve ik2 in FIG. At time t, the current i 'exceeds the saturation value and the inductor lying in series with the contact 2 suddenly reduces its inductance, so that now both inductors are saturated and the current change takes place according to the steepest curve in FIG. 2. The current i2 therefore increases rapidly.
Correspondingly, however, the current il drops just as quickly and, in turn, now reaches the saturation value at time t2. Now the choke lying in series with the contact 1 is desaturated, so that in turn an unsaturated and a saturated choke are in series. The rise in current for i2 is flat again, until the current. il exceeds the negative value of the saturation current.
From then on, the course of the current continues after the steepest curve, as shown by the dashed lines,

5 shows the commutation process with a somewhat lower load current 1, but which is still above the saturation value i; lies. It can be seen that the time interval t, t ,, within which the commutation process shows the steepest course. has shrunk significantly.
Accordingly, the point in time t..S, at which the contact separation must take place at the latest, has moved closer to t ". Finally, FIG. 6 shows the F-11 that I; is equal to twice the value of the saturation value i.
The steep course of the currents, which was present in the middle of the commutation process in the examples shown above, has now disappeared, since at the moment i. exceeds the saturation value, z, falls below the saturation value, so that in the interval t "t; one of the two throttles is constantly desaturated. The current therefore constantly runs along the mean slope.
In Fig. I, I, equals i ,. Immediately at the start of the commutation process at point t "i, falls below the saturation value, while i., Is also still below the saturation value. In this case, both chokes are desaturated at the same time and the current curve shows the flattest curve , which is possible until the current i exceeds the saturation value at time t.
This is followed by a section of the course of the current with a medium steepness until finally - also i, the saturation; value is exceeded in the negative direction and the current curve therefore assumes the greatest steepness.
Finally, FIG. 8 shows the process during idling, that is to say at 1. equals zero. In both contacts, only the short-circuit current closes at the same time, namely in one in a positive direction, in the other in a negative direction. to do-. At time t, both currents simultaneously exceed the saturation value, so that the steepness of the current curve at this point jumps from the smallest to the largest value.
When idling, the contact separation must take place in the interval t "to t. If the critical current value does not match the saturation current, this also changes the position and the extent of the time interval during which the contact separation is possible For example, if the critical value is less than the saturation value, the time limits within which the contact must be separated are considerably reduced.
It can be seen from the above that, due to the shift in the current course during the commutation time with changing loads, there are difficulties with regard to spark-free commutation if the mutual position of the switching times and the curve sections of the current course that are flattened as a result of the desaturation of the choke coils remain unchanged.
According to the invention, this mutual position is now shifted by a control device as a function of the load, namely in such a way that the contact separation always takes place within a period of time during which at least one choke coil lying in series with the contact to be opened is desaturated and the The current to be interrupted, taken absolutely, is below a critical value, that is to say not sufficient for arcing.
For the practical implementation of the invention, there are a number of possibilities with regard to the way in which the mentioned mutual position of the switching times and the flattened current curve sections can be influenced. For example, the control device can act on the synchronous position of the time at which the contact is opened in relation to the period of the current transmission and shift it as a function of the load.
In this case, the time of contact closure can be left alone, but for structural reasons it will often be advantageous if the time of contact closure is also moved at the same time as the time of contact separation.
Naturally, this must be taken into account when dimensioning those parts that determine the legal relationship between the shifting of the switching point and the change in load, because it depends on the difference between the phase voltages at the point in time at which the contact is closed there is a steeper or flatter rise in the curve of the voltage effective in the short circuit. Constructively, the simplest conditions result,
if the L% overlap duration is kept constant, ie if the switch-on and switch-off times are shifted in the same direction and by the same amount.
How one can influence the synchronous position of the switching times is known per se. For example, the arrangement can be such that the control device moves the stationary contacts of the switching device, or a synchronous drive motor with several exciter windings lying in different axes can be used. In the latter case, the control device then acts on the magnitude of the excitation current in one axis.
The part that determines the legal relationship between the converter load and the change in the synchronous position of the switching times can be designed here, for example, as an ordinary measuring resistor that is directly in the DC circuit of the converter and at whose terminals the supply voltage for the an excitation winding of the synchronous machine is tapped.
Of course, special regulators can also be interposed there, the regulating characteristics of which are then decisive for the context mentioned. It is also possible to limit the load-dependent influence on the gommutation process to certain higher load areas.
Here the task then arises of always allowing the contact separation from no-load to a certain load value without influencing the commutation process at a current below the critical value.
The greatest possible load at which this is still the case results from the condition that the current to be interrupted must have dropped to at least the critical value when the load is applied and that the contact is disconnected when the load is open at the latest at the point in time at which the current to be switched off reaches the critical value.
If these relationships are considered, for example, using FIG. 4 for load and FIG. 8 for idling, this means that point _A (FIG. 4) must be before time t1 (FIG. 8). You can create this state artificially, if it does not result from the dimensions of the switching chokes from the outset,
This means that the flat sections of the current curve overlap when idling and when loaded by applying a preload to the converter at least when idling, i.e. connecting an auxiliary load circuit to the DC terminals when the load drops below a certain value in the case of a rectifier, for example .
A comparison between FIGS. 7 and 8 shows that with a relatively small pre-load - in FIG. 7 the pre-load current is equal to the saturation current - a possibly considerable extension of the flat current curve can be achieved.
Even if it cannot be achieved in all cases that with just one level of preload, the point in time at which the contact opening must take place at the latest when idling is behind the point in time at which contact separation must take place at the earliest under full load - so the additional means for load-dependent influencing of the commutation can be considerably simplified by applying a preload.
Smoothing means are expediently provided in the preload circuit, since the conditions just explained may be disturbed again by a wavy preload current. So that the preload current, which is generally only BEZW with regard to the size of the saturation current. of the critical current is set, is not changed by fluctuations in the voltage supplied by the converter ge, a resistor is advantageously used as an auxiliary load consumer, which takes constant current regardless of the voltage.
As a constant current resistance, for example, an iron hydrogen resistance can be used or a direct current motor can be seen for this purpose, which is loaded with constant torque, for example its own friction torque.
Another possibility for the practical implementation of the invention is that the chokes connected in series with the switching contacts are equipped with premagnetization windings and that the control device influences the premagnetization current in these windings as a function of the load. This also results in a mutual change in position of the switching times and the flattened pieces of the current curve, only that the switching times can now remain fixed and the current curve is shifted.
In many cases it will not be necessary for the bias current to change continuously with the load. Rather, a step-by-step change will often be sufficient, so that a larger load range can be controlled with a certain bias current.
How the process of current transfer changes with a certain load due to a premagnetization of the choke coils, should be explained with reference to FIGS. 4 and 9. In Fig. 4, which for the most part has already been explained above, the idealized magnetization characteristic of the choke coils is provided by a dash-dotted line.
The current is chosen as the ordinate in accordance with the other curves and the magnetic induction B as the abscissa. Fig. 4 shows the processes in a non-premagnetized choke coil, so when the zero value of the magnetic induction coincides with the zero value of the current flowing through the choke coil and the associated conditions contact. In Fig. 9, on the other hand, it is assumed that the chokes are pre-magnetized in such a way that a negative current of the size of the saturation current must first flow through the choke in order to reduce the magnetic induction in its core to zero.
At the moment when, with such a premagnetization, the current iz in the subsequent contact assumes a positive value even in the slightest, the choke is already fully saturated and its inductivity is correspondingly low. Immediately after the switch-on time there follows a time interval t "t" during which both chokes of the short-circuit circuit are saturated, so that the process of current transfer proceeds with the greatest steepness until the current in the contact to be opened has finally dropped to zero.
In the further course, the current in the contact to be opened falls below the zero value, i.e. it becomes negative and thus the inductor coil connected in series with it is desaturated. As such, the current il now runs with the steepness as long as it corresponds to the presence of a saturated and an unsaturated choke until it has risen to twice the negative saturation current. However, since in the present exemplary embodiment the assumption is made that the critical current value is equal to the saturation current, the contact must be separated at the latest at time t2.
A comparison of FIGS. 4 and 9 shows a significant shift in the actual current transfer area and the flat curve piece adjoining it. By means of positive bias, for example, the end point A of the main transfer section t: L t2 can be moved closer to the point in time to when the phase voltages are equal.
On the one hand, this ensures that a larger current can be commutated at a given fixed opening time, and on the other hand, with a given current, the moment of contact separation can be selected earlier and thus the level of the recurring voltage can be reduced, which is beneficial to the safety of reignition. The lower the returning voltage, the higher the critical current value that can be allowed.
From this point of view, depending on the premagnetization, a further shift in the time of contact separation can be carried out.
In many cases it is not necessary to continuously change the pre-magnetizing current with the load, but a larger load range can be controlled with a certain pre-magnetizing current.
It will often be useful not to let the bias current of the choke coils be constant over the entire period of power transmission, but rather to bias the chokes, for example, only during certain times of the period. If necessary, this can be achieved by bringing about the premagnetization using an alternating current. In general, this alternating current will have to have different phase positions in the reactors belonging to the various branches.
Another additional improvement of the commutation is possible by "bending" the curve of the alternating voltage, which means that it deviates from the sinusoidal shape so that the recurring voltage at the open contact rises more slowly. For this purpose, the voltage curve must show a flatter course in the vicinity of the point at which the contact is opened. In practice, this can be done by superimposing harmonics, in particular of three times the frequency, on the alternating voltage in some manner known per se.
