Signaleinrichtung an Fahrrädern.
Signaling device on bicycles. The present invention relates to a signaling device on bicycles with a back pedal brake, in which a lamp sitting at the rear of the bicycle is automatically made to light up when the back pedal brake is actuated.
The invention is characterized by a two-armed organ which is mounted in a plate provided with contact parts and fastened to the bicycle frame, one arm of which has a grinding contact designed to cooperate with the contact parts and the other arm of which is arranged to be when the reverse brake is actuated, the chain wheel is adjusted by turning the chain backwards.
In the accompanying drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 in three different forms - exemplary embodiment, namely in sühaubild- Licher side view.
In Fig. 1, 1 denotes the one extending between the pedal crank hub and the rear wheel,
Horizontal rear fork belonging to the bicycle frame. 2 denotes the upper part of the bicycle chain. At a suitable point between the pedal crank and the rear wheel, a plate or the like 3 made of Bakelite or other insulating material is provided on the fork 1, for example by means of screws. In the plate 3 a pin 4 is mounted, which carries a two-armed organ 5, 12, one of which.
Arm 5 rests against a fixed contact part 6 within a certain area by means of a sliding contact, but rests against a rail 7 electrically insulated from the contact part 6 in another area. The movement of the arm in one or the other direction is limited by a rail 8 attached to the plate 3, one end of which carries a fixed stop 9, while the other end is provided with a stop 10 adjustable by a screw.
The con tact arm 5 or its pin 4 can be electrically connected by a wire loop to the bicycle frame 1, and the solid contact part 6 isolated from the sem is electrically connected to a screw 11, which is connected by an insulated line in connection with one pole electric battery is, the other pole is connected by an insulated line to one pole of a lamp attached to the rear of the bicycle. The other pole of the lamp is electrically connected to the bicycle frame.
As soon as the contact arm 5 rests against the rail 7, the current is interrupted, but is immediately closed as soon as the contact arm 5 is switched so that it comes into contact with the contact part 6.
According to the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the other arm 12 of the two-armed element is designed as a curved, resilient part which bears resiliently against the upper part of the chain 2. As soon as the chain is at rest or is driven by the movement of the pedals in the direction indicated by the arrow, the resilient arm 2 grinds on the chain part 2, the contact arm is held in the area in which it rests against the rail 7 . When stepping back on the pedals and the braking caused thereby, the chain part 2 is moved back somewhat, that is in the direction opposite to the direction of the arrow.
As a result, the resilient arm 12 is moved backwards a little by the chain part 2 and brought into the position indicated by dashed lines, where the arm 12 rotates the pin 4 and thus also the contact arm 5, in such a way that it is against the contact part 6 which closes the circuit and illuminates the rear light. When the braking is released, the forward movement of part 2 of the chain of the contact arm 5 is brought into the switched-off position.
The device according to FIG. 2 has mainly the same design as FIG. 1, but with the difference that the bracket 12 has been replaced by an upstanding rod 13, the upper end of which has a roller 14 which is against the part 2 of the chain is applied. The rail 8 has a stop 10 which limits the movement of the contact arm 5 and, according to FIG. 2, is connected to a compression spring 15 which tends to push the contact arm shut in the direction towards the switch-off position.
In Fig. 3, the device is also arranged on the horizontal Hinterradga.bel 1, specifically in the vicinity of the chain wheel 16. The one arm 5 of the two-armed member also cooperates here with the contact parts of the plate. In this embodiment, the other arm of the organ also consists of a rod 17 which has a roller 18 which rests against the sprocket 16. When stepping forward, the arm 5 is held in the off switching position.
As soon as the sprocket is rotated by stepping backwards ent opposite to the direction of the arrow, the contact arm, as has been written earlier, is brought into the contact position, whereby the lamp lights up.
The invention is not limited to the illustrated and described embodiments, but details can be modified without going beyond the scope of the invention.
