Fig. 5 zeigt einen teilweisen Schnitt der Anordnung.
Device with endless film. The invention relates to a device with an endless film which can be configured, for example, as a recording, reproducing or copying device for such films.
According to the invention, in this device, the film runs from the inside of the roll of film rolled up on a carrier over a like from and over a drive drum away to the outside of the film roll, the axis of the freely rotatable film roll carrier is arranged skewed to the axis of the drive drum.
The purpose of the invention is to enable the easiest possible transport of the endless Fil mes in the device by preferably only a single loop, which has the same sense of curvature everywhere, is formed, and thereby the use of numerous film pressure, guide or Pulleys can be avoided.
This makes it possible for the incoming and outgoing part of the film to lie in a plane which appropriately intersects the axis of the film drive drum at right angles. The plane can be stored horizontally, vertically or differently.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject of the invention are shown along with detailed variants. From these embodiments, the first relates to a device for reproducing endless sound films with several parallel sound tracks, while the second is a device for reproducing an endless picture sound film with optical compensation: In Fig. 1 and the following it is first shown how the Film guidance of such a device can be performed, for example. There, 1 means the axis of the film drive drum 2 and 3 the axis of the film roll carrier.
The axis 3 is skewed to the axis 1, in such a way that the axis 1 of the film drive drum 2 with the axis 3 of the film roll carrier 4 is an acute angle. a forms, the apex of which is turned towards the guest K of the film gramophone, if you look at the film gramophone from the side, the drive drum 2 and film roll carrier 4 appear one behind the other.
At the same time, the axis 3 is inclined to the axis 1 in a second direction of the coordinate system defined by the edges of the box h, as can be seen from FIG. The inclination is such that the upper part of the axis 3, which carries the film roll support 4, is closer to the upper end of the axis 1 than the lower part of 3, which is attached to the base plate of the film gramophone. The angle ss can often be smaller than the angle a. The amount of inclination in both directions depends on the film material used and on the size of the diameter of the film roll.
With some films it will be necessary to make the angle ss equal to zero, that is to say that the axis 3 should only be inclined in the direction indicated in FIG. 1. If the device is to be used for several different types of film, it can be used by Be the advantage to fasten the axis 3 on the base plate of the box K by means of a Ku gel joint, so that you can incline it as you wish and can then festklem men for example by means of a screw.
With such an inclination of the axis 3, the film strip runs particularly smoothly if the core of the film roll carrier 4 has a shape such as that indicated in FIG. There 5 denotes the carrier plate of the film roll carrier and 6 the core of the same.
This can for example be designed so that it is almost cylindrical at point 7, while further above about at 8 it should have approximately the shape shown in FIG. 3, that is, on these surfaces, the film should be on its edge run over the core 6, the outer surface of the core thus forms a hollow surface for the film. 9 means the film roll on this film roll support. When the film is unrolled, it is now removed from the inside of the film roll 9, goes once around the core 6 and then runs on to the drive drum 2.
A band braking effect can occur around the core 6, for example in the following way: The removal of the film from the inner edge of the film roll 9 occurs with a certain resistance. This resistance was due to a train against the film, which gives the part going to the drive drum 2 a certain tension. A similar band braking effect occurs. on the drive drum itself. Since the film is always removed from the inside of the roll and reapplied to the outside, the film roll has a tendency to steadily increase its outer diameter.
The part of the film running back from the drive drum should now have the effect of compressing the film roll on the film roll support by a restrained pull from the outside inwards and bringing it closer together so that the outer diameter of the film roll always remains the same. This train compressing the film roll be now caused a force acting at the point of discharge of the drive drum 2, which, like the principle of the band brake, results in a greater pull on the accruing part 12 of the film strip. The tape running off the roll of film is therefore much more tense than the running tape.
Since the running tape is thus exposed to a train driving the film roll carrier, the moving tape is exposed to a train that slows the film roll carrier. Since the white direct unwinding of the film at the point where the tape 12 is peeled off the inner edge of the film roll, there is a tendency that the running tape is pinched between the inner edge and the base of the core, and immediately by this pinching Film flow is disturbed, a gap has been created between the base of the core 6 and the inner edge of the film roll 9, such that the inner edge of the film roll 9 abuts a shoulder 13,
over which the running film tape can only be lifted with a certain force. This inhibiting paragraph 13 can be designed in various ways, for. B. in the form of a cylindrical, sharp from sentence, which can also be rounded, for example, by curved transitions or can also be conical.
Another difficulty that can arise here is that because of the unevenness of the film material, individual revolutions of the film rise and fall in an irregular manner within the film roll. As soon as such a rising part comes near the inner Ran of the film roll, a disturbance becomes noticeable, which also leads to jamming of the film tape.
Measures are therefore provided to prevent this ascent. This can be achieved in that the carrier plate 5, on which the film roll 9 rests, is not flat, but rather conical. Through this conical Trä gerplatte the film is forced to rise when running from the outer circumference to the inner edge, according to the slope of the cone. This artificially induced ascent prevents the accidental ascent.
The conical design of the support plate 5 also has the advantage that, despite the misalignment of the axis of rotation '3 of the film roll carrier, the weight of the film roll does not hang down too much on one side of this support plate and thereby the inner edge of the upright part of the obstructing paragraph 13 Film roll attaches too much to the paragraph.
Another measure to prevent climbing is that at least part of the free surface of the film roll 9 is covered, for example by a guide rod or by a guide disk, which rests on the edge of the film by its own weight, for example, and prevents the Film in a direct way. Under all circumstances, however, the guide must free the core and the point at which the film tape 12 runs off the film roll carrier. Such a guide disc 14 is shown in FIG. 3.
It can either be flat or adapted to the shape of the carrier plate, that is to say it can be conical.
4 and 5 show details of the operation of the guide disk 14. Fig. 4 shows a plan view, for the sake of simplicity, the projection of the film roll and the film roll carrier are drawn circular instead of elliptical. Fig. 5 shows a partial section of the arrangement.
As can be seen immediately, the film guide disk 14 is supported by the inclined position of the carrier in such a way that it does not come to lie concentrically with the film roll. Therefore, as shown in Fig. 5, the inner and outer diameter of this disk is expediently selected such that even when it is tilted, the outer edge of the disk 14 roughly aligns with the outer edge of the film roll 9, where it has its deepest point , coincides. The inner edge of the disk 14, where the film detaches from the 6, must be so far away from it that it does not interfere with the film flow.
By means of this film guide disk 14, with a corresponding formation of the core 6, it can be achieved at the same time that the film roll 9 cannot be removed from the carrier plate without authorization even in the idle state, that is, when it is not in operation. This is shown in FIG. 5, for example, in that a cover plate 15 is placed on the core 6, the outer diameter of which is greater than the inner diameter of the disk 14.
The inner edge of the disc 14 is, since it partially comes into contact with the film, expediently designed so that it cannot damage the film, e.g. B. either the edges of the disc can be rounded or the inner edge of the disc can be provided with some soft material, rubber, etc.
If 6, paragraph 13 (escapement) and support plate @ are designed so that they are firmly connected to each other, it is advantageous to make them from one piece. For example, to press or turn from metal or synthetic resin, etc.
Fig. 5 simultaneously shows the running plate 24 for placing the film roll carrier. It consists of the actual plate 24, a pin 25, in the interior of which a ball bearing 27 with two rows of balls is inserted on the axis 3. The film roll carrier with its journal bearing 28 is placed on the journal 25. The pivot bearing works similar to the centering through the hole on a gramophone record.
It is useful to choose the radius of the core 6 plus the radius of the outer edge of the film roll 9 on the film roll carrier equal to the diameter of the drive current mel 2 so that the film 12 running towards the drive drum and the film 10 to be returned are parallel to each other.
An embodiment of the film roll carrier has, for example, the following dimensions: radius of the core about 3 cm, radius of the outer edge of the film roll 6 to 7 cm, with about 50 m film, radius of the paragraph about 4 cm, while the diameter of the drive current mel is about 9 cm. The diameter of the carrier plate is about 14 cm, the height of the paragraph about 2 to 3 mm, the space between the paragraph and the base of the core about 2 to 3 mm and the height of the core above the carrier plate 30 to 35 mm.
Instead of placing the cover plate 15 on the core, however, it is also possible, please include to give the core a shape as shown in Fig. 6 and to provide the guide disc 14 with a radial cut so that an insertion at the thinnest part of the core.
In FIGS. 3 and 6, 16 denotes a cover which is used to close the film roll carrier when the film is put away. Both the carrier plate, core and cover can, for example, also be produced from press material, for example synthetic resin. The film roll carrier with the film roll, cover and film guide disk can form a cassette designed as a salable unit as a whole. The cover has a shape adapted to the film roll carrier.
There is a hole 20 in the cover. The purpose of this design is as follows: The edge 17 of the cover 16 extends over the outer edge of the carrier plate 5 and is at this point, for example, let in and through some on the circumference of the plate Springs pressed outward balls 18 held. These balls 18 snap into a groove 17 on the edge of the lid. On the cover 16 a tower-like attachment 19 is now provided, in the end part of which a hole 20 remains above. That BEZW on the core. on the cover plate 15, which is placed on the core, rests.
Here through it is possible by means of a simple handle to put the closed cassette next to the running plate 24 and then remove the cover 16 from the film roll carrier by only, for example with thumb, middle and ring fingers of one hand on the tower-like essay 19 is touched and BEZW by pressing the index finger on the surface of the core. the carrier cover plate can be lifted off through the hole 20.
In the event that a very large amount of film is to be brought into circulation, it is advisable to reduce the friction losses within the cassette itself. These losses are due in part to the fact that successive revolutions of the rolled-up film have friction against one another on the flat side of the film. A second cause is that the film is moving relative to the carrier plate. The friction losses of the second type can be reduced to a certain extent by special measures.
A point of greatest friction is that between the inner edge of the film roll and the shoulder 13. The shoulder, which generally has a larger diameter than the smallest diameter of the core at which the main force transmission of the rising film part 11 takes place, has as a result a greater peripheral speed than the narrowest part of the core. It will therefore be ensured that the angular velocity of the carrier plate is different from that of the core, e.g.
B. because by that one provides for such a relative difference in Umlaufgeschwindigkei th the installation of a gear ratio so that on the diameter of the paragraph where the film is detached from the inner edge of the film roll, there is exactly the same order of running speed as on the closely most point of the core at which the train driving the film cassette attacks.
In order to reduce the friction of the film roll against the carrier plate, the carrier plate can be divided into a large number of circular rings even when a large amount of film is being transported endlessly, which can be rotated relative to one another or are coupled to one another by suitable gear transmission. that every ring rotates with the same peripheral speed.
7 shows such a film roll carrier in which 6 again means the core of the film roll carrier and 5 the carrier plate, which is composed of nothing but individual concentric rings 22. These rings 22 can be made rotatable against one another, for example by virtue of the fact that balls 23 run between them. The device can still be seen ver with a located next to the film drive drum and converging with her film pressure roller.
In the following, the one embodiment of the invention in the form of a playback device with an endless sound film with several sound tracks, along with several detailed variations, will now be explained with reference to FIGS. The film transport device described above enables the simplest possible operation in such a device in a particularly simple manner in that the tactile optics are arranged approximately at point 30 in FIG. 4, i.e. they are located (around to achieve good guidance or sound reproduction) near the film drive drum.
However, the film is passed completely freely through them and is stretched fairly tightly on part 12. With this arrangement, all difficulties that otherwise occur, for example, due to contamination of the film web, all damage to the film and all friction losses that can occur on the film web are avoided.
Since damage to any part of the optics is also to be avoided, it is expediently designed so that it forms a unit that is protected against dust and dirt and that has no moving parts above the apparatus base plate.
A first variant of the scanning optics is shown in FIG. Here 31 denotes the light source, 32 a concave mirror, 33 a condenser, 12 the film, 34 a lens, 35 an audio track aperture with one or more spiral cutouts, 36 the audio selection gap and 37 the photocell. The parts 34 to 37 are accommodated in a dust-tight sealed housing and let into the apparatus base plate 38 in such a way that they are not exposed to the risk of damage.
The parts 31 to 33 can also be combined to form a dust-tight sealed unit, in which case attention is expediently paid to the dissipation of the heat developed by the clay lamp. The drive of the soundtrack aperture 35 can be done by a slip clutch - which is driven by the film drive motor.
Another variant of the scanning optics is shown in FIG. Here, 31 again means the light source, 32 in turn a concave mirror, 33 a condenser, 12 the film, 34 a lens, 39 the sound track aperture, 36 the sound selection gap and 37 again the photocell.
The lens, audio track diaphragm, audio selection gap and photocell are housed in a sealed, dust-tight housing which is pivotably attached to a long lever 40 and whose height in relation to the film, i.e. its position in relation to the various audio tracks, can be changed by a cam disk 41 can. If a transition is made from one sound track to the next when scanning, it is only necessary to continue to rotate the cam disk 41 by a certain amount by means of a control mechanism.
10 and 11 show a further variant of the tone control device, namely, FIG. 10 shows a side view and FIG. 11 shows a perspective view.
Here, too, as in the previous examples, the scanning itself is also carried out in the vicinity of the drive drum without any additional film guiding means, but the scanning light beam is deflected downwards at right angles after passing through the film tape by some device reflecting the light.
31 is again the light source, 32 a hollow mirror, 33 a condenser, 12 the film, 42 the light deflection device, which consists of a twice reflecting prism, 35 the audio track aperture with a spiral cutout 35a, 36 the tone selection gap and 37 the photo cell. 2 is the drive current mel of the film, which is driven by a worm gear 43, for example.
In such an embodiment, the drive of the audio track diaphragm, which can also be done in the embodiment of FIG. 8 with means of a slip clutch, is particularly simple in that the film drive drum, the slip clutch and the audio track cover are all arranged on a single axis So any additional power transmission means between the film drive drum and soundtrack aperture is superfluous. Protection against dust or damage is also provided here.
Uni with such film gramophones to ensure the greatest possible utilization of the existing video width, but at the same time the switching of the light beam from one soundtrack to the next in a known manner through a notch on the film edge is the notch 46 on the edge of the film placed next to the end of the last sound track 45 and the transition points 44 of the sound tracks on top of one another and in the direction of the scanning light beam opposite the notch. This is shown schematically in FIG. 1'2.
The end 45 is followed by the notch 46 on the edge of the film, and it can readily be seen from the figure that there is no longer any sound track between the notch 46 and the transition points 44. The comparatively small loss of recording length on your film is insignificant compared to the disadvantages that would result from making the notch elsewhere; because the notch needs approximately the same amount of width as at least one row of audio tracks itself. In a different design, a full length of audio track would be lost.
Since the scanning should now take place shortly before the drive drum, since the film should also run very smoothly during the scanning, and then the switchover by a feeler lever that engages the notch on the film, at least a small jerk can cause the film itself, it can often times be appropriate to BEZW the scanning device and the notch. place the indexing device on the film on opposite sides of the film drive drum.
In addition to ensuring trouble-free scanning, this also has the advantage that the film, where it is most demanded in the vertical direction, namely when the indexing lever is attacked, at the notch 46 in the vertical direction is extremely well guided by the Film drive drum has.
Endless films with several rows of audio tracks are rolled over as often as there are rows of audio tracks on the film. On the other hand, since the degree of wear and tear on a film depends on the number of passes through the apparatus, it is advisable not to choose a film width greater than a maximum of 20 audio track widths. You can conveniently use a film whose width is not less than 3 mm, for. B. equal to half of a cine film with, for example, 4 to 10 sound tracks, depending on how the Ap paratur is set up.
Since the film with the cassette is generally removed from the device during the transition from the last to the first track and reinserted again, in which case a restart of a certain film path is necessarily lost for the start-up, it is advisable to switch between the beginning of the First sound track and the end of the last nth sound track to leave a longer intermediate distance, for example 5 to 10 cm of film, free.
It is also possible to leave more than just a length of, for example, 5 to 10 cm free, namely, for example, about so much that after the last audio track has expired, the audio track cover or audio track selector is moved to an (n + 1) th empty track and before it is started up the first track has a zeroth track that is also not labeled. When starting up, the audio track selection device is initially only run on the zeroth track and the device then moves. automatically from this zeroth track when passing the mark in the film to the first audio track.
After the nth track has elapsed, the sound track selection device is again shifted to the (n + 1) th empty track at the marking on the film that triggers the transition. Instead of moving to the (n + 1) -th empty track, the audio track selection device can also be moved back to the zeroth track, so that the zeroth track appears as the only standby position of the device.
Instead of a zeroth on the film. see a zeroth and an (n - @ 1) th track vdrzti-, which always entails additional expenditure and loss of film material, the device can also be made in such a way that the transition from the nth to the first track is not takes place directly,
but rather via a position of the soundtrack aperture at which all the light is blocked by the film or is pushed out completely outside the film surface. Such a sound track aperture is shown in the accompanying Fig. 13. 48 is a formed as a sound track aperture and arranged in front of the selection gap circular disc. This circular disk 48 can be rotated about the axis 49.
In it, for example, two spiral slots 50 serving as actual screens are cut. A semicircle of the disc is divided into, for example, seven equal sectors a to g , with the spiral-shaped sound track cover extending over six of these sectors, while the seventh sector has one such breakthrough does not show. If, for example, a is the sector that corresponds to the first sound track and f is the sector that corresponds to the last sound track, it can be seen that the sound tracks 1, 2, 3 ... released sequentially when the disk is rotated in the direction of the arrow will.
When you switch to g, however, the selection slit is completely covered by the seventh full sector g and is therefore not exposed. On this last full sector g is the sound control device when changing the cassette and starting up. The switching from this last to the first sector of the second semicircular area takes place automatically through the marking on the film, so that the correct use of the sound recording. This full sector also has the property of increasing the mechanical stability of the audio track panel present.
In Fig. 14 et seq., The other embodiment of the invention is shown as a picture tone film reproducing apparatus. The film is pulled away by a film drive drum designed as a toothed roller 52 over the slide 53, which contains the image window 54, by means of the deflection roller 55, where it runs off the film roll 58 stored in the cassette 57 via the core 56.
The condenser and lamp are either to be arranged in the space 59 or, as is shown for example in FIG. 15, to the side of the film guide track. The light beam is bent over by a prism 60 at right angles. The arrangement can be chosen so that when the film tape runs up and down, it runs in one plane if possible. This is achieved in that the axis of rotation of the film cassette is given such an inclination that it is skewed to the axis of the film drive drum.
In FIG. 16, x-x indicates the direction of the plate 61 which carries the film drive means and the optics. The strongly conical design of the carrier plate that carries the film roll has the advantage that the film roll prevents it. is to bezw on the core 56. to lean against the paragraph seen there before and to pinch the film tape that is peeling off inside.
In the case of an arrangement with optical compensation, a glass prism 63, for example twelve-sided in the present case, is connected between the image window 54 and the projection lens 62 to effect the optical compensation. If the drive drum 52 has the same number of teeth as the prism has 63 sides, the drive drum and the prism have to rotate at the same speed of rotation for a film in which one hole in the row of holes corresponds to each image, namely at 24 Frames per second with two revolutions per second.
A simple design of this drive consists in that two worm wheels of the same size are arranged on both the axis of 52 and the axis of 63, which mesh with one and the same worm from opposite sides of the motor shaft. This arrangement is shown in FIG. 64 is, for example, the worm wheel of the prism, while 65 represents the worm wheel coupled to the drive drum. 66 is the worm located on the motor shaft 67.
If the device is to be used for films in which the sound belonging to the picture is not directly next to the picture, the sound optics are to be arranged, for example, as indicated in FIG. 14 by the parts 68, 69. It can be advantageous here to make the arrangement by means of suitable optical means so that one and the same light source is used for the image transillumination and sound control.
Through this training of the film leadership bezw. the arrangement of the optical compensation, however, is also given the opportunity to place the scanning point for the Tonstrei fen directly next to the associated image strips. This arrangement is part of essential before in several ways. As is well known, amateur recording men are very often glued together from individual short pieces. Here makes. the Zusam menkleben often difficulties in that the previously used arrangements picture and sound z. B. are offset by 19 frames and the cut is at a very different point on the tape than the sound cut.
In addition, this arrangement of image and sound also gives the possibility to illuminate the image strips and the sound strips during playback through one and the same condenser. Here it is advantageous to put as thin a glass plate as possible in the clay window. which is slightly silvered on the side facing away from the film. A barrier photocell can then be arranged directly behind the gap to implement the light fluctuations.
