Iron rack. Iron grids are known with a power connection and with a cable located on a reel as a connection to the iron, which reel has the tendency to roll up the unloaded cable.
In these iron grids, the support surface for the iron is on the axis around which the cable reel rotates, which has the disadvantage that the heat from the iron is propagated into the interior of the cable reel and can have a harmful effect here. Furthermore, these grids are often not very solid and the cable reel is insufficiently protected against mechanical influences (dropping and knocks).
The present invention is an iron grate which no longer has the aforementioned parts. .
This iron grate with power supply and a cable on a roll as a connection with the iron, which role has the tendency to roll up the unloaded cable, is characterized according to the invention He is characterized in that the role is under the support surface for the iron which is carried by means of supports arranged outside the roller.
An embodiment of the subject invention is shown on the accompanying drawing sheet: Fig. 1 shows the iron grate in a crack, cut, and Fig. 2 in plan, right half in section along the line a - b - in FIG.
1 is a base plate and 2 is a rubber pad. 3 is a circular stand with a downwardly directed collar 3 ', by means of which the stand is attached to the base plate. 3 "is an upwardly directed, pierced hub on this stand. In the hub 3" an upwardly projecting bolt 4 is screwed, the thread of which extends to its upper end. In the lower end a contact screw 23 is screwed. Around the hub 3 ″ from bottom to top lie a metal ring 5, in which on the left side a downwardly leading pin 24 with a power connector nut is screwed, an insulating washer 6, a metal ring 7 and then again an insulating washer B.
These parts are pressed together by a metal disk 9 wound on the bolt 4. Above this disk, around the bolt 4, there is a metal disk 10, which is pressed onto the disk 9 by means of the nut 11. 12 is a cable reel made of insulation material, the cylindrical part 12 'of which is closed with a disc 13 at the top. The drawing shows that this roller can rotate around the axis 4. 14 is a circular, downwardly open shell with a side slot 14 ', which can also rotate about the axis 4.
At the height of the metal disk 9, an inwardly directed bushing 16 is screwed into the roller part 12 ', in which there is a coil spring which presses a contact pin 15 against the disk 9 at one end and is supported against a screw 17 at the other end. The same is the case at the level of the metal disk 5.
Here the bushing 21 is present with the contact bolt 20, a helical spring and the screw 22. 18 is a helical spring, the outer end of which is connected to the roller part 12 'by means of the screw 19 and the inner end of which is connected to the metal ring 7 by means of a screw . 25 are three columns, expediently made of a material that does not conduct heat well, on wel chen the grate plate 26 with an overlay Eternit plate 27 is attached. 40 is an insulation housing which is attached to the base plate 1, in which there is a so-called snap clip mechanism.
Even if the current flow is not shown in the figures, the same can be seen from them. One wire of the supply cable is connected, for example, to terminal 31 of the switch. From here the current goes through the metal lamella 32 to the pin 33, from here through the wire 34 to the lamella 35. A wire (not shown) leads from the terminal 36 to the terminal 23. From here the current goes through the bolt 4 to Metal washer 9, then via the contact pin 15 and the spring in the sleeve 16 to the screw 17, to which a wire of the cable is connected, which is located on the roller 12 and which leads through the opening 14 'in the shell 14 to the iron. The other wire of this cable is attached to the terminal 22.
The current goes from this terminal through the spring in the sleeve 21 to the sliding contact 20, i. H. to the metal ring 5, from here through the bolt 24 to the nut on this bolt, on which the other wire of the supply cable from the power source to the iron stand is closed.
The circuit is closed, regardless of the position in which the roller 12 is located. If you now press the switch button 37, the same is imposed in the wall of the housing 40 and the power supply to the iron is interrupted.
The spiral spring 18 is adjusted and dimensioned such that the cable has a constant tendency to wind up on the roller 12.
The heat of the iron placed on the grate is no longer transferred to the rest of the apparatus and the roller 12 with the hood 14 is protected against mechanical damage by the base plate, the columns 25 and the grate.
When the iron grate is not in use, the connection cable to the power source is wrapped around the columns 25, for which reason the same are thinner in the middle than above and below.
