Arrangement for changing the bandwidth of a band filter by changing the coupling and attenuation at the same time. The newer receivers have an operating handle with which you can set either good reproduction or good selectivity. In order not to lose too much selectivity when setting for good reproduction, it is advisable to change not only the attenuation, but also the coupling and the attenuation at the same time.
An increase in attenuation with a larger coupling is advantageous because in this way one avoids too strong a dip in the resonance curve. Up to now, the attenuation change has been made by switching on a resistor, changing a resistor or by moving an additional damping winding. It is also known to mechanically couple the switching elements that are used to change the coupling with the ones used to change the damping so that the adjustment of both is possible with a single control button.
According to the invention, a damping winding (which can be one or more windings) is arranged in a fixed manner for the respective tuning frequency of the filter in an arrangement for changing the bandwidth of a band filter, that the coupling of the variable-position filter coil with the damping winding is then more solid when the coupling with the other filter coil increases.
Based on the figures, exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below. In Fig. 1, two coils are shown in a decoupled state and in Fig. 2 in a firmly coupled state. The damping winding, in the present case a single turn, is denoted by R. FIG. 3 shows a side view of FIG. 2, in which the damping resistance W can also be seen.
In FIG. 1, the ring R does not have a damping effect on the rotatable (lower) spool, since the spool axis and the ring axis are perpendicular to one another. In Fig. if the axes coincide, however, so that damping occurs.
In Fig. 4, the belt filter is built into a screen cylinder from. 1) he I_> ä.znp@ans- ring 1z is attached by means of two rods St to the insulating plate I'l, which nucli serves as a carrier for the upper coil and the rotatable lower coil.
The coils are arranged asymmetrically in the shielding cylinder, d. H. the coil centers do not lie in the axis of the same, with which a special purpose is to be achieved. Before this is explained, the following must be assumed: The looser the coupling ring of the damping winding finish of the rotatable coil in FIG. 1, the smaller the switched-on resistor II "has to be in order to achieve the desired damping.
Since the ratio of the self-induction to the ohnic resistance of the damping winding then increases as the coupling becomes loose, the rotatable coil becomes more detuned.
It is therefore best to make the coupling of the damping winding tight and to select a large damping resistance. In practice, however, this can only be carried out to a certain extent, since the rotatable coil requires a certain degree of roughness and therefore the damping winding must be sufficiently far away. From this round there is a certain annoyance.
in fact, the self-induction of the rotatable coil decreases with greater coupling.
Here another phenomenon makes itself favorably noticeable. In the arrangement according to FIG. 1, without a damping ring, namely one for the case that the coils are arranged in the center of the shielding cylinder. the self-induction of the rotatable coil l ,, 1 tighter coupling with the other coil.
Since then the short-circuit currents (- must travel a longer path in the shielding. To prevent this increase in self-induction, the rotatable coil is expediently arranged in such a way that, with a more tight coupling with the other coil, the coupling is also finite of the shielding becomes stronger, so (let the self-induction be maintained lead bt.
If a damping ring R is provided, the rotatable coil is not arranged so strongly asymmetrically, since with a more tight coupling of the rotatable coil with the 1) damping ring, the increase in self-induction of the rotatable coil as a result of the larger current path in the shield is partially compensated for becomes.
Instead of an aperiodic damping winding, one can also be tuned to the resonance frequency of the individual band filter circuits. can be used to the extent required. In the seine hall there is no disgruntlement, but a dampening.
1) The bandwidth regulation described is applicable not only to fixed band filters, but also to those with variable adjustment, for example for input band filters of receivers. In order to achieve the right amount of attenuation at different filter tuning frequencies, the damping ring can be moved depending on the: 1i) stitnniiing.
It is also not possible to reduce the resistance Tb 'to release in isolation.
It should also be mentioned that the illustrated arrangement of the filter coils is not necessarily correct, but that the axes can also have a different position to one another.
