Diesen bekannten Vorrichtungen haften verschiedene Nachteile an.
Device on motor vehicles with internal combustion engine for switching on the electric starter and for operating other organs of the vehicle. The invention relates to a device on motor vehicles with internal combustion engine for switching on a starter and for operating other organs of the vehicle by means of .one and the same control elements of the.
In known devices of this type, the clutch lever or the throttle lever is connected to the starter switch by a hitch, which is switched on when the engine is stationary, while the engine is operated by the negative pressure .des engine or by a relay from the < B> Alternator is powered, is released so that the starter switch is not moved by the linkage of the accelerator lever or clutch pedal.
In another known type, the starter switch is also operated from the clutch or throttle lever, but the starter circuit is opened by negative pressure or a relay. There are several disadvantages associated with these known devices. For example, safety is low because when the gas throttle is fully open and when driving uphill, the negative pressure is almost zero and it is therefore possible to couple the throttle lever to the starter switch while the engine is running.
In the case of devices in which the circuit is switched off and on as a function of the negative pressure or the voltage, the starter is switched off too early, so that the machine does not even start running at full speed.
Another disadvantage is that the free mobility of the throttle or clutch lever is impaired by the connection with the starter switch.
For example, in both systems in which the throttle lever is mechanically connected to the starter switch, only a little bit can be moved beyond the idle position when the throttle lever is started. Therefore, when starting with the throttle, you cannot give full throttle, which is necessary, for example, if the mixture is too rich in order to be able to restart the engine.
These disadvantages, some of which are attached to the known devices, some only partially, are intended to be avoided by the invention. This consists in that when the starting process is running through the control member, part of the switching device of the starter is moved to initiate the switching process required to switch on the starter and then the remaining part of the switching device of the starter is withdrawn from the influence of the control member.
The advantage of the invention is therefore that the throttle lever can be moved freely during the starting process after the switching process has been initiated. So you can - go back to the starting position with your foot and, if you wish, even take it off the pedal.
In the drawing, three execution examples of the subject matter of the invention are shown. It shows: Fi.g. 1 shows a switching device for starters in a schematic representation, FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment, FIGS. 3 and 4 show a third embodiment, FIG. 5 shows a special version of the example of FIG.
In FIG. 1, 1 is an alternator, 2 is a starter, 3 is a battery and 4 is an automatic switch located between the alternator and battery. The starter is connected to the battery via an electromagnetic switch 5.
This switch has a control coil 6, one end of which is connected to the alternator, while the other end is connected by a line 7 to the battery. In the connecting line 7 is the ignition switch 8 and a second switch 9, which is generally always closed and is only opened in emergencies in order to switch off the starter th. An ignition coil 1.0 is connected to this line 7.
The switch 5 has a contact bridge 11, which sits insulated on a soft iron core 12, which can be drawn into the winding of the control coil 6 against the pressure of a spring 1, 3. In .the one. In the drawn position, the contact bridge rests on contacts 14 and 15, one of which is connected to the starter engine and the other to the battery.
The core 12, on which the contact bridge 11 is seated, has an extension 16. This extension set is opposed by a push member 1 which is pivotably attached to a lever 18. On, the .Schub member engages a rod 19 which is moved by a piston 20 of a vacuum cylinder 21. The vacuum cylinder is connected to the intake pipe of the internal combustion engine to be started by a pipe 22.
The lever 18 is connected to the linkage 2.4 of the throttle lever 25 via a spring 23. 2.6 is a stop for the thrust member 17, which limits its path. that it cannot move the contact bridge all the way to the contacts.
This starting device works in the following way: In order to switch on starter motor 2, the driver must. Ignition switch 8 and also: close the emergency switch 9 if the latter were open, which is generally not the case, however. The winding of the control coil 6 of the magnetic switch 5 is now energized; However, the magnetic switch is designed in such a way that it cannot pull in the core 12 with the contact bridge 11 when the control coil is excited because it is too far removed from the magnetic core. To close switch 5.
If the driver now steps on the throttle lever 25, whereby the lever 18 is pivoted and the thrust member 17 reads the approach 16 with the. Contact bridge 11 and the core 12 moves so ver that the control coil 6 is able. the contact bridge completely to .die contacts 14, 15 to pull. The starter motor is thus switched on and it starts the internal combustion engine.
After just a few rotations of the machine, the negative pressure in the cylinder 21 is so great that the thrust member 17 is pulled out of the area of the projection 16 and therefore the action of the gas lever on the switching device of the starter motor is completely canceled.
At the moment when the contact bridge 11 has been attracted by the magnetic switch, the throttle lever is completely free in its mobility. With regard to the starting process, the throttle lever only initiates a switching process which: then! Takes place completely automatically. As the voltage of the alternator increases, the winding of the control coil 6 is weakened and the switch 5 is opened.
If the negative pressure drops to zero when driving slowly at full throttle, the starter cannot be switched on with the throttle lever, because the thrust member is located under the extension 16 when the throttle is fully depressed (lever 25) In order to be able to operate the switch 5 again, the thrust member must first return to its initial position, since it can lie in front of the extension 16 with it.
A restart of the starter is therefore tied to the following conditions: First, the push link must be in front of the continuation 16; this is only possible when the vacuum is gone and the throttle is in the idle position. Secondly, there must be no counter voltage in the circuit on the solenoid 6 so that the contact breaks can be attracted.
Thus, both the member initiating the starting process and the switching device itself are influenced by a force which depends on the operating state of the engine.
Instead of the negative pressure, the thrust member 17 could also be controlled by a lift winding fed by the alternator (see FIG. 5). It would also be possible to influence the oil pressure or the centrifugal force of a regulator. In the embodiment of FIG. 1, the throttle lever forms the control member. Instead of this, the clutch foot lever could also be used.
You can also initiate the starting process with the gear shift lever in the neutral position or in a special setting.
The embodiment illustrated in FIG. 2 is intended for starters. in which the starting process takes place in two stages, namely by first moving the armature axially longitudinally with means of a pull-in winding 3.0 to engage the tickle and then only fully switch it on.
In FIG. 2, the parts of the system that are the same as those of the system according to FIG. 1 are denoted by the same numbers.
The starter motor 2 is connected to the battery '3 by a two-stage magnetic switch 31 which is energized by a coil 32 and turns on the feeder winding 3.0 in the first stage and the main field winding 3.3 in the second stage. One end of the coil 32 is grounded,
the other connected to contact 1.1. The contact 15 is closed at xdem ignition switch 8. The excitation winding 6 of the magnetic switch 5 is on the one hand to the light machine 1 and on the other hand to a. Auxiliary contact 31a of switch 31 is connected.
This second embodiment has the following mode of operation: First, the ignition switch 8 must be closed again and then the throttle lever 2.5 depressed. In this case, the contact clip 11 is pressed completely onto the contacts 14, 15 by the push member 17. As a result, the magnetic switch coil 32 and through it the magnetic switch 31 is switched, which in the usual way first the pull-in winding 30 and after -dem. Engaging the starter pinion switches on the main winding 33.
At the moment when: Switch 3 1 comes into the second switching stage, switching coil 6 is fully energized and holds the contact bracket 11 until it .der through the counter voltage Uchtmasohine de-energized, whereupon the contact clip is lifted by the spring 34 from the contacts.
During operation of the internal combustion engine, the thrust member 17 is pulled from the area of the extension 16 by the negative pressure in the cylinder 21.
3 and 4 show a third embodiment from which, like the second embodiment, is also intended for starters with two switching stages. Here, the starter 2 is again connected to the battery 3 via a two-stage switch 31.
The excitation coil .32 of the switch is connected at one end to the alternator 1, while the other end is connected to the battery via a switch 35. From the same end a line goes to the auxiliary contact 31a of the switch 31. In this line there is an emergency switch 36, which, however, is only opened in special cases.
The switch 35 is shown larger in FIG. 4 compared to FIG. It consists of a cylinder housing 37 in .dem a Kol ben 38 sits, the two contacts 39, 40, which are isolated from each other, carries. The. The housing is connected to the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine by a line 41. In the cover of the housing sits a push button 45 which carries a contact bridge 42. Lines 43 and 44 are connected to the contacts 39 and 40.
The switch is arranged in such a way that the button 45 lies in the path of the indicated gas foot lever: 46 and is therefore depressed by this when it slides over it.
To start the engine, the driver depresses the throttle. The switch 35 is closed, the coil 32 is energized and the switch 31 is closed in the first stage. After the starter has been engaged, the switch 31 goes into the second switching stage and thereby connects the coil 32 with the battery via the switch 31, 41a. .As soon as the counter voltage of the alternator is high enough,
the switch 31 opens. Switching on again while the motor is running is not possible because the contacts 39, 40 of the switch 35 are removed from the area of the pushbutton switching element 42, 45 by negative pressure.
