Electrical temperature controller. The main patent describes a 1Vlomentwärme- regulator for regulating the heat generated by electrical power from a heating source,
in which a current interruption is brought about by uneven expansion of several metals with different coefficients of thermal expansion, and in which regulator two contact springs formed from the mentioned metals are provided.
This regulator differs from the known designs because the two springs are in the same direction and that both ends of the compression spring connected between the bimetal springs are held at movable support points of the free ends or near these ends of the bimetal springs, for the purpose of
to achieve a. quick-acting opening and closing of the contacts between the bimetal springs.
The present invention relates to an improvement in such electrical heat regulators, which is characterized in that
@that the controller has, in addition to the two bimetal springs, a further contact spring for switching on a second heating resistor in the circuit of the heating apparatus, which is mechanically connected to the one bimetal spring in such a way that the opening and closing of the contacts between this bimetal spring and the contact assigned to her,
as well as between the contact spring and the contact assigned to it.
In the drawing, the subject of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment, namely: FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the controller and FIG. 2 shows a schematic representation of the circuit shown in FIG.
With 1 and 1 'the two bimetal contact springs are designated, 2 is the compression spring tensioned between the ends of these bimetal springs, 3 and 3' are screws for tensioning the bimetal springs, 4 and 4a are two stops for the spring 1, 5 is the bow-like end the spring 1 ', which limits the movement of the spring between the contact screws 6 and 7' seated in an isolated manner on the housing, while 8 denotes a screw for tensioning the spring 2.
9 is the housing, 10 are the ends of the compression spring 2 which are supported against the movable ends 11 and 12 of the bimetallic springs.
On the housing 9 is another contact screw 13 for connecting a second heating resistor of the heating apparatus iso liert attached, on which one end of a contact spring 14 rests, which in turn is attached to the housing 9. The free end of the contact spring 14 engages with some play under the upper end of the bracket 5 in order to be actuated by this, as described below. A fuse 15 is placed between the clamping screw 3 'and the contact screw 7.
The drawn moment heat controller is intended for a heating apparatus, for example, a heating pad, which is equipped with two electrical heating resistors 16 and 17's which in turn can be switched on and off by means of a switch not shown. This switch is designed in such a way that in the first switch position the heating resistors 16 and 17 lie one behind the other in the following circuit: Resistor 1.6, contact screw 13, contact spring 14, bracket 5, contact screw 6, resistor 17.
Whoever brought the two bimetal springs to a certain temperature by the heat acting on them, they bend in the direction of the arrow indicated in FIG. 1, and the aforementioned circuit is interrupted by the downward movement of the bracket 5 on the contact screw 6. This Bü gel 5 but also takes the contact spring 14 with this movement, whereby the between tween this and the contact screw 13 before existing electrical connection is also interrupted.
In the second switch position of the not shown switch, the following circuit is closed: Resistor 17, contact 6, bracket 5, bimetal strip 1 ', screw 3', fuse 15, contact 7, return conductor 18. By moving the bimetal strip 1 'downwards when overheating is the circuit between bracket 5 and contact 6 and thus also that between contact 13 and contact spring 14 are interrupted. In. In the third switch position, the two resistors 16 and 17 are connected in parallel and the return of the current takes place, analogously to the second switch position, through conductor 18.
When the bimetal springs are actuated, there is also a current interruption at both contacts 6 and 13. This interruption is a momentary interruption without spark formation, as is the case with the heat regulator of the main patent.
The described embodiment enables the installation of a single heat regulator in heating devices such as heating pads and the like to interrupt all of the power circuits that can be produced by the switch, while up to now the installation of two heat regulators has been necessary to achieve the same effect.
