Magneto. The invention relates to magnetic igniter for internal combustion engines and has the purpose of creating an igniter to be able to NEN, which can be used without significant change in its structure for machines with different numbers of cylinders. Up until now, machines with different numbers of cylinders had to use a special magneto for each machine, the distributor and distributor transmission gear corresponding to the respective number of cylinders of the engine.
In order to be able to use the same basic type of magnetic igniter for internal combustion engines with different cylinder numbers, the magnetic igniter is equipped according to the invention with a distributor which has a distributor disk and a distributor wheel driven by the rotor shaft, the distributor wheel in the distributor disc itself is mounted, so that both parts can be attached and removed as a single piece. In the drawing, two execution examples of the subject matter of the invention are shown.
It shows: FIG. 1 a magneto with a removable distributor disk in iSection, FIG. 2 a view of the distributor disk, and FIG. B. a second embodiment of the distributor disk.
In the figures, 1 denotes the rotor shaft supported in bearings 2 and 8. The bearings are carried by the cast housing 4 and a wall 5 mounted in the housing. On the shaft 1 sits a magnetic rotor 6 in the usual way, which cooperates with shoes arranged on an armature core 7 pole. A coil 8 consisting of primary and secondary windings sits on the armature core and is located above the rotor 6.
The high-voltage terminal 9 of the coil 8 is connected by the rigid conductor 10 to a contact 11 whose point of contact with the conductor 10 lies in the axis of the distributor wheel 12. The distributor, which is designed as such with skipping sparks, has a pin 13 on the gear 12, which is electrically connected to the spring-loaded contact 11.
The high-tension current is thus fed to the pin 13 and skips the small air gap to the terminals 14, which are embedded in the disk 15. The wheel 12 is mounted on a pin 1-6 which is seated in a suitable bearing recess 17 which is formed on the disc 15 and lies midway between the clamps. A metal sleeve 17a is inserted into the niche in order to obtain a resistant storage area.
The end of the journal 16 is hollow in order to be able to accommodate lubricants therein which can reach the bearing surface through two small radial openings.
The rotor shaft 1 has a cam 18 through which an interrupter can be actuated, which is not shown. In addition to the cam 18, a pinion 1-9 is attached to the end of the shaft and cooperates with the distributor wheel 12. The wheel 12 consists of a fabric that is impregnated with synthetic resin or the like and thus an insulating carrier for,
forms the high-voltage conductor and thus makes the usual construction with a special gear to drive the circulating distributor piece superfluous.
In FIG. 1: a distributor for a four-cylinder engine is shown. The igniter can easily be made usable for an engine with a different number of cylinders, in which the transmission gear is changed and the distributor disc 15 is replaced by another one that has the appropriate number of terminals.
Preferably, the different large pinions 19 are used for the different ratios of the transfer case according to the machines. The size of the wheel 12 is left unchanged, but its axis of rotation is arranged in the disk so that the wheel 12 comes into correct engagement with the pinion.
To ensure the correct arrangement of the wheels, the wheel 12 below the pinion must mesh with one another according to a predetermined ratio. For this purpose, a tooth of each wheel is designated to show the desired meshing position. In order to more easily determine the correct setting, an inspection hole 20 is provided on the distributor disk 15.
Fig. 3 shows another embodiment of the transfer case and the distributor disk. In this example, the high-voltage conductor 1.3 is poured into the wheel 12. The teeth of the wheel are shaped at the same time and are made strong and large enough to prevent them from crumbling.
Here the pinion 19 is also in the distributor disk 115. A loose drive connection is established between the pinion and the rotor shaft 1 by means of a driver 22, which allows the pinion to be removed together with the disk 15.
In both of the illustrated Ausführungsfor men of the igniter, a distributor unit is provided that can be easily removed and replaced with another one that is suitable for a machine with different numbers of cylinders. The invention creates a very adaptable and economical magneto that is reliable in operation and simple in construction.
