Lighting apparatus of an operating field. The object of the invention is an apparatus for lighting an operating field.
This apparatus is characterized by at least one source of directed infra-red rays, supported by the illuminating lamp and arranged externally to the latter, the whole being established so to illuminate and irradiate the operating field from top to bottom, the infrared rays being directed onto the area illuminated by the lamp.
A source of ultra-violet rays can be combined with the source of infrared rays and, in its most perfect form, the apparatus according to the invention POUITa comprise two combined sources of infrared and ultra-violet rays placed at both sides. ends of a diameter of the illuminating lamp.
It is this particular embodiment that represents, by by way of example, FIG. 1 of the accompanying drawing, fig. 2 being a detail view.
In 1 is shown an operating table, the longitudinal axis of which is in the plane of the drawing. Above this operating table hangs an illuminating lamp 2, usually of a special type producing a light area 3 without shadows, that is, that is to say on which for example the head of the operator or his helper does not cast shadows, even by being interposed between the lamp and said area. On the other hand, this light source, always very powerful, is generally established so to to be cold.
At both ends of a diameter of the lamp 2, arms 4 support combined sources of infra-red and ultra-violet rays located within inside reflectors 5. </ B > At the bottom of each reflector, and as shown in the section of the left reflector, is the source 6 of infra-red rays directed so to exit the reflector below parallel beam shape. Further ahead, at 7, is the source of ultra violet rays. The first of these two sources will not necessarily be light, which may consist of a heated black body. The second is a simple mercury tube, preferably with automatic ignition.
The directed infrared rays coming from the two sources converge so to fall on the range 3, as shown. the mixed lines of the drawing.
The general arrangement is such that the diameter of the illuminating lamp, at the ends of which the irradiating sources are located, is also in the plane of the drawing, that is to say that it extends parallel to the longitudinal axis of the operating table and above it, which is therefore illuminated and irradiated from top to bottom.
Each of the reflectors 5 can be moved axially with the sources it contains, so it can be brought closer to or far from the range 3. It is planned to < / B> this effect of racks 8 with control wheel 9. At 10 there is a device intended for </ B > slow down the movement of the reflector and the sources, so that these components are maintained without further at the height to which they are brought.
In certain cases, where 'Pon also wishes to be able to modify the height of the illuminating lamp above the operating field, it will be necessary to have the means allowing the convergence of the directed beams of infra-red rays to be modified accordingly. In this case, arms 4 can be provided in two parts joined by a ball joint 11, as shown to in FIG. 2. This is to ensure that the irradiation zone always corresponds to the light range of the operating field.
Instead of placing each source of ultra-violet rays in an envelope common to the corresponding source of infrared rays, it would very well be possible to place the organ emitting the rays. ultraviolet rays on the exterior of the reflector directing the infra-red rays, just as the latter is disposed externally to the illuminating lamp.
The apparatus described makes it possible to irradiate the operating field during an operation and this more particularly according to the following program, which has been shown to have an excellent influence on the aftermath of the operation - During the whole operation or during the last part of it, the calorific action of the sinfra-red rays is added to the luminous flux of the illuminating lamp, which can be done without inconvenience to the operator (s), given the peculiar arrangement of the sources of these radiations, which can reach the operating field from the left and the right of the operators, dirty reach them, therefore without hindering them.
At the end of the operation or after the latter and in combination with the infra-red rays or even after the action of the latter. the organs emitting ultraviolet rays are put to the test. At this moment, it is still possible to regulate the action of the latter by bringing the sources more or less to the operating field by means of the racks.
