Process for emptying storage containers for granular and powdery, moist or dry materials by means of gaseous pressure media. The invention relates to a process for emptying storage containers for granular and powdery, moist or dry materials using compressed gas. The emptying of storage containers happened up to now either by simply draining the goods or by pressing the goods out with compressed air or the like. promoted. With the first-mentioned method, bridging of the goods often occurred above the outlet, which prevented the outlet.
The conveyance of the goods with compressed air had the deficiency that only the middle part of the goods was pumped out of the container through the compressed air acting on the surface of the goods, creating a crater through which the air can get to the outlet opening without any goods promote. The material in the container could no longer be conveyed out at all because the compressed air presses it against the walls of the container. It has also been proposed to destroy the craters formed by the compressed air by means of mechanical means that keep the material moving and to prevent the material from sticking in the container.
However, none of these means are sufficient to ensure proper emptying of the Y storage container. In order to eliminate these shortcomings, according to the present invention, the material in the storage container, while it is under the conveying effect of the pressurized gas, is kept under the constant pressure of a plate that is pushed in according to the emptying of the container and ensures that the pressurized gas can only hit the material on the outside of the container.
In the drawing, several devices suitable for carrying out the method are shown, for example, namely: Pig. 1 a storage container for sand and granular materials including attachments and installations. In .Schnitt, FIG. 2 a section through a device with two storage containers arranged side by side, which can be emptied alternately, FIG. 3, a section through the storage and filling container of a sandblasting blower.
4 shows a partial section through a storage container together with a plate pressing on the material, FIG. 5 shows a modification of the drive of the pressure plate.
The method according to the invention can be used in all cases in which it is a matter of granular or powdery, moist respectively. to convey dry goods from a storage container. It can be used for grain silos or for emptying .Sammelbehältern for any goods, which are at least so close that the compressed gas can not easily sweep through the spaces. It is also just as applicable bar in foundry machines for conveying the sand BEZW. generally for sandblasting blowers to convey the granular sand.
It can also be used in blow molding machines for filling all kinds of shapes.
The goods stored in the container 1 are to be conveyed to the outlet 4 by a compressed gas, preferably compressed air, which can be introduced into the container 1 in a controllable manner through the line 2 via a valve 3. In order to achieve a penetration of the 1-6 Atm. To avoid compressed gas through the material and thus crater formation, acts according to FIG. 1 on the surface of the material a plate 5, which is guided by means of a piston rod 6 in the detachable cover 7 of the container 1. The piston rod 6 carries a piston 8 at the upper end, which can slide up and down in a pressure cylinder 9.
The piston rod -6 is sealed against the container 1 by a stuffing box 10 or the like. In. A pressurized gas can likewise be introduced into the cylinder 9 at the upper end through the line 11 and the valve 12 in a controllable manner. In order to be able to lift the plate 5 after the storage container has been emptied, compressed gas can likewise be introduced through a line 14 provided with a control valve 13 at the lower end of the cylinder 9.
The valves 12 and 13 are set up in the usual way so that they allow the compressed gas to escape from the cylinder 9 in the position closed for the inflow, in order to be able to move the piston 8 from the opposite side by the compressed gas.
The operation of this device is as follows: After the container 1 is filled with the material, the same is to be supplied from the Behäl ter 1 through the outlet opening 4 to the consumption points. The valve 12 is first opened and the piston 8 is pressurized. This will. the plate 5 pressed onto the surface of the goods. As soon as the pressure gas line 2 is opened, the pressurized gas occurs above the plate 5 in the container 1. The plate 5, however, is not tightly guided in the container 1, but leaves a small one. Annular gap 15 relative to the shell of the container free.
As a result, the pressurized gas passes through this annular gap 15 and drives the material lying under the plate 5 to the outlet. The plate 5 must always lie tightly on the material in order to prevent the compressed gas from penetrating through the material. Corresponding to the emptying of the container 1 that takes place due to the compressed gas, the plate 5 elastically follows the material and presses itself firmly against it, immediately closing craters that are formed in the material. The emptying takes place until the plate 5 has reached the bottom of the container. In the illustrated exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, the floor is slightly inclined towards the center.
However, it can also be flat and have several outlet openings 4.
Once the container 1 has been emptied, the supply of pressurized gas through the line 2 is first switched off by means of the valve 3. Likewise, the supply of pressurized gas through pipe 11 to the cylinder 9. Then valve 13 is opened so that the pressurized gas flowing in here lifts the piston 8. As soon as the plate 5 has reached its highest position, the loading container can be filled with fresh material. This can be done through a closable filling opening or after lifting off the cover 7 with all parts attached to it.
The device described so far is generally to be regarded as sufficient for a device which does not operate continuously. It is for most foundry machines, such as. B. blow molding machines and the like, fully sufficient because the material in the reservoir is sufficient for several forms that must be filled one after the other.
However, if the goods are to be used in a continuously operating company, it must be able to be constantly fed to the point of consumption. For such a case it is useful to provide several storage containers 1 (FIG. 2). Each of the same has the parts explained for FIG. 1. The outlets 4 are led to a switching organ 16, which connects either one or the other container 1 to the consumption line 17.
The valves 3, 12 and 13 of one container are conveniently connected to those of the other container 1 by rods 18, 19 and 20 so that the open position of a valve of one container corresponds to the closed position of the corresponding valve of the other container. These connections can also only be applied to some of the valves. One can also see a filling or lock container 21 for the storage container, which can be filled during the emptying of the loading container 1 and after emptying the latter allows the goods contained in it to be quickly transferred to the storage container 1. Such an arrangement is shown in FIG. 3.
On the container 1, which is equipped with the same auxiliary equipment as the device according to FIG. 1, the container 21 is placed in such a way that it surrounds the cylinder 9. In the lid 7 of the container 1, one or more openings 22 are provided which can be closed by cones 23. Each cone is suspended from a rod 24 which is articulated on a lever 25. The levers 25 of all cones 2-3 are expediently arranged on an axis 26 passing through the container 21, which can be moved by an adjusting device 27 to raise the cone 23 or lower.
Be a special compressed gas line 28 with valve 20 is optionally used to introduce compressed gas into the container 2 @ 1 in order to transfer the goods introduced in the sem into the container 1. The transfer of the goods from the container 21 into the container 1 can take place after or during the movement of the plate 5. The material is fed through the annular gap 15 under the plate 5. Instead of directing the compressed gas directly into the container 1, it can also be passed through a hollow piston rod 6a to the hollow plate 5a, FIG. 4.
In this case, the hollow plate 5a has obliquely outwardly directed channels 30 which, however, must open out above the lower edge of the plate 5a. Since in this case all of the compressed gas has to go through the hollow piston rod and thus through the cylinder 9, the piston 8 has to be dimensioned so large that it is also able to push the plate 5a against the in the container 1 to press sensitive material.
Instead of advancing the plate 5 respectively. 5a by means of a piston with the mediation of compressed gas, any other type of elastic feed device can also be selected. For example, instead of the piston rod 6, there can be a spindle 31, the nut 32 of which is driven by an electric motor 33. Here, an adjustable sliding coupling 34 must be switched on between the motor 33 and the nut 32, or the motor 33 is provided with a load regulator 35 which switches it off when the motor 33 is overloaded.
The piston 9 can also be moved by a pressure fluid instead of.
