d Cooling device for storing and keeping goods fresh. The invention relates to a further training of the cooling device for storing and keeping goods fresh according to the claim of the main patent.
The main patent relates to a cooling device for storing and keeping goods fresh, which has a surface that emits the cold and is intended for placing the goods in the air. This cooling device is characterized by the fact that a layer of frost is generated on this surface by the cooling capacity of the cooling device and can be maintained during operation of the cooling device, and that the surface is in a thermally insulating connection with it in order to create a sharply delimited reef field standing edge parts is surrounded.
In one embodiment of this cooling device according to the main patent, the surface on which the goods to be cooled are placed is surrounded by a frame which delimits the frosted surface and is so well insulated from the surface that it never takes on such a low temperature frost can form on this frame.
In practice it has been found that the frame can very well be isolated from the surface intended for placing the goods on, so that the frame never covers itself with frost when the device is used. As a result, the be ripened surface is always sharp .separated from the non-frosted frame, whereby a beautiful appearance of the device is achieved according to the main patent.
However, experience has shown that in a very humid atmosphere, i.e. with a very high water content in the air, this water does condense on the frame. This is based on the fact that the cold transferred from the cooling surface through the insulation to the frame is released to the surrounding air and the frame has a temperature that is slightly below the temperature of the surrounding air. However, the temperature of the frame can be below the dew point of the air, with water condensing on the frame.
This affects the beautiful appearance of the whole device, since the frame, for example, if it is made of shiny metal such as chrome, only looks very beautiful when dry.
The invention aims to avoid this disadvantage, and is characterized by means for heating the edge parts forming a frame, which means enable the frame to be heated in such a way that at least one part of the same prevents or prevents the precipitation of moisture from the atmosphere moisture that has already been precipitated is removed by evaporation without the frost being affected by the frost on the surface intended for placing the goods.
By heating the frame, its temperature can be increased to the temperature of the surrounding air or beyond, so that no condensation of water can occur on a colder surface.
The heating of the frame can be effected in various ways. First and foremost, it is possible to carry out the heating on elec trical means by means of electrical resistors. However, it is also possible to heat the frame using a compressed gaseous refrigerant, such as @SO, which has a temperature that enables the frame to be heated when a compressor is left in a cooling system.
Various embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are illustrated, for example, in the drawing. 1 shows a cross section through an embodiment in which a heating element is provided in the form of a special electrical cable, FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment in which an electrical heating wire is provided, and FIG. 3 shows the same cross section of a third Embodiment with a pipe for the passage of the compressed, warm refrigerant.
In all embodiments, a plate 9 is provided, which forms the specific surface for placing the goods, which is covered with frost and is cooled by pipe windings 22 soldered to its underside. The plate 9 is surrounded by a framework men 12 forming edge parts, which are preferably made of metal, for example made of chrome-plated brass.
The plate 9 is completed at its top by a rubber strip 16 (also can be used with a rubber tube filled with cork instead), against which the plate 9 is pressed by means of the screws 17. Immediately on the underside of the plate 9 are thin cork strips 18, which are supported by small strips of wood 19; small plates 20 made of fiber, bakelite (synthetic resin) or the like are pressed against this.
The screws 17 are screwed into nuts 21, which are also made of insulating material, such as fiber or the like. These nuts 21 engage in a groove provided in the frame 12 in which they can move in the longitudinal direction. In this way, the plate 9 can be precisely aligned, sealing it inwardly against water and air and the transfer of heat between the plate 9 and the frame men 12 is very difficult. The heat transfer is then. further complicated by the fact that the plate 9 only touches the rubber 16 and the cork 18 with a very narrow edge. The plate 9 is therefore in a heat-insulating connection with the frame 12.
The frame below the plate and consequently around the pipe coil 22 is filled with an insulating compound 23, for example made of cork, the joints of which are carefully filled with finer insulating material, such as cork powder, slag wool or the like. The whole is also closed by a plate 24 so that an air and.
watertight unit is created. It is of course important that no air can penetrate into the space between the plates 9 and 24, because if air circulation were to occur there, frost would also form there, which would considerably reduce the cooling effect on the upper side, weh rend see also a lot of condensation water could form within the insulation.
Due to its large surface area, the frame 12 can quickly give off heat to the surrounding air. It is therefore not covered with frost, although the frame temperature can be so low that water from the atmosphere condenses on the frame. when the atmosphere has a very high moisture content.
In Fig. 1, an elec tric cable 25 is on the inside of the frame mens, that is hidden from view. This cable is a lead sheathed cable which has an asbestos core onto which a wire made of high resistance metal is wound in a helical manner. This heating element is surrounded with specially treated rubber and then provided with the lead sheath. The cable could of course also consist of a simple straight wire, which is embedded in the specially treated rubber and encased with lead. The cable is guided along a surface of the frame.
The temperature of the frame can be regulated depending on the electrical voltage used. It can also be seen before electrical resistors, switches or the like for the purpose of regulating the frame heater. Furthermore, it is not necessary to arrange the heating cable 25 along the entire length of the frame, but in many cases it will be sufficient to heat only a part of the frame of which one particularly wishes that it does not become wet.
In Fig. 1 it is also shown how the cable 25 is attached by means of a strip 26 of insulating material. In the embodiment of FIG. 2, a simple electrical heating wire 30 is closed between two asbestos strips 27 and 28.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, a tube 29 is provided which can be connected to the outlet side of the compressor of the cooling system, which supplies the coolant for this device, and is soldered to the inside of the frame.
In any case, the heat developed in the dargestell th devices in the frame is not so great that the frost on the upper surface of the plate 9 is affected.
An advantage of the examples shown consists in the following: If for any reason moisture has entered the whole formed by the plate, so that, for example, the insulating mass 23 contains water, it is possible to remove this water by evaporation as a result of heating the frame and so that the plate can be removed using the heating devices described. The cooling is then preferably interrupted, that is to say the cooling machine is shut down and the frost layer is removed. However, it is also possible.
In this case to heat more, for example by the electrical voltage of the device shown in Fig.1 and 2 it is increased.
The frame could also be heated by lamps instead of the methods described above, so that the beauty of the whole would be enhanced by lighting effects.
In the embodiment .gemäss Fig. 3, the temperature of the frame will not be the same in all parts of the same, because the refrigerant where it enters the frame, of course, has a higher tempera ture than where it leaves this frame. This disadvantage can be remedied by the fact that two pipes are provided in the frame, through which the gaseous refrigerant flows in opposite directions, both pipes being connected to the compressor and thus connected in parallel. The temperature of the frame will then be practically the same in all points.
The gas line for heating the frame can be connected to the pressure line that leaves the compressor, and there can then be a control valve between the points where the secondary line leaves the main line and where it joins it again, are provided. In this way, the amount of gas which circulates through the frame and thus the temperature of the frame can be regulated in a number of ways.
In this embodiment, the heating by the refrigerant stops automatically when the compressor stops.
