Elément filtrant pour masques à gaz et analogues. L'invention concerne les éléments filtrants servant à la protection contre les poussières, les fumées, les brouillards et les gaz, éléments que comportent les appareils dénommés mas ques à gaz.
Les masques à gaz sont munis d'une ou plusieurs capsules filtrantes constituées géné ralement par une enveloppe, dans laquelle sont logés des éléments actifs destinés notam ment à neutraliser les produits gazeux nocifs et des éléments filtrants destinés à retenir les poussières et les brouillards nocifs.
Le but de la présente invention est de permettre la réalisation de capsules filtrantes présentant une très grande surface de filtra tion sous un faible volume et partant en gendrant à encombrement égal une dépression moindre que les capsules conçues jusqu'ici.
Selon l'invention, l'élément filtrant est formé par des surfaces en une étoffe rigide, qui affectent sensiblement une forme cylin. drique et qui sont disposés coaxialenrent, chacune de ces surfaces étant reliée par l'une de ses bases avec la surface voisine intérieure et par l'autre de ses bases avec la surface voisine extérieure, et la surface cylindrique centrale étant formée par la surface latérale d'un godet fait en la même étoffe que les dites surfaces.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, deux formes d'exécution de l'objet de l'invention.
La fig. 1 est une vue en coupe verticale axiale de la première forme d'exécution; La fig. 2 est une vue en coupe verticale axiale de la seconde forme d'exécution. L'élément filtrant, qui est représenté à la fig. 1, est constitué par un cône 1 d'étoffe (tissu ou feutre), de préférence par un cône de feutre ou bastissage, présentant une cer taine rigidité, de façon à conserver une per manence de forme, qui a été replié ou retroussé sur lui-même concentriquement plusieurs fois. Ce cône est fixé par sa base sur l'enveloppe 2 par le sertissage d'un fond perforé sur la tranche de ladite enveloppe 2.
A la manière connue l'étoffe formant le cône 1 peut être imprégnée de tous produits appropriés lui per mettant de retenir plus aisément les produits qu'il doit arrêter.
Cet élément filtrant présente sous un très faible encombrement une très grande surface de filtration, il permet donc la réalisation de capsules filtrantes n'engendrant qu'une très faible dépression, même après un usage assez long.
L'élément filtrant, qui est représenté à la fig. 2, est constitué par un godet central 8, en étoffe (tissu ou feutre) présentant également une certaine rigidité, disposé au centre d'un certain nombre de cylindres 4 de même consti tution, le godet 3 et les cylindres 4 étant assemblés respectivement grâce à des couronnes 5 coiffant alternativement leurs extrémités et dans lesquelles ils sont coincés grâce à des bagues 6.
Une toile métallique 7 est fixée générale ment à l'extrémité de l'enveloppe 2 s'ouvrant dans l'atmosphère, pour protéger l'élément filtrant.
Filter element for gas masks and the like. The invention relates to filtering elements used for protection against dust, fumes, mists and gases, elements that include devices called gas masks.
Gas masks are equipped with one or more filter capsules generally constituted by an envelope, in which are housed active elements intended in particular to neutralize harmful gaseous products and filter elements intended to retain harmful dust and mist.
The aim of the present invention is to allow the production of filter capsules having a very large filtration surface in a small volume and thus generating, with equal dimensions, a lower vacuum than the capsules designed hitherto.
According to the invention, the filter element is formed by surfaces of a rigid fabric, which substantially affect a cylindrical shape. drique and which are arranged coaxially, each of these surfaces being connected by one of its bases with the neighboring inner surface and by the other of its bases with the neighboring outer surface, and the central cylindrical surface being formed by the lateral surface of a bucket made of the same fabric as the said surfaces.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a view in axial vertical section of the first embodiment; Fig. 2 is a view in axial vertical section of the second embodiment. The filter element, which is shown in fig. 1, is constituted by a cone 1 of fabric (fabric or felt), preferably by a felt cone or bastissage, having a certain rigidity, so as to maintain a permanent shape, which has been folded or rolled up on itself concentrically several times. This cone is fixed by its base on the casing 2 by crimping a perforated bottom on the edge of said casing 2.
In the known manner, the fabric forming the cone 1 can be impregnated with any suitable products allowing it to more easily retain the products which it has to stop.
This filter element has a very large filtration surface in a very small footprint, so it allows the production of filter capsules generating only a very low depression, even after fairly long use.
The filter element, which is shown in fig. 2, is constituted by a central bucket 8, made of fabric (fabric or felt) also having a certain rigidity, arranged in the center of a certain number of cylinders 4 of the same construction, the bucket 3 and the cylinders 4 being assembled respectively by to crowns 5 alternately capping their ends and in which they are wedged by means of rings 6.
A wire mesh 7 is generally attached to the end of the casing 2 opening into the atmosphere, to protect the filter element.
