Description
Chain slot for vehicles, in particular bicycles. Until now, the chains on bicycles have not been protected at all or have been enclosed in expensive, rather complicated boxes in which the chain was in a so-called oil bath. The present invention is now a chain protection that can be attached to any vehicle. He draws. look through a self-contained sheath with slits on the inside, which is intended to surround the chain and to run around with it. This chain guard should not only protect the chain from dust and dirt and the driver himself from Ö1, but also prevent the chain from jumping out of the gears and give old, stretched chains a quiet and noiseless run.
In the drawing, an execution example of the subject invention is Darge provides.
Fig. 1 is a view of the chain guard, while Figs. 2 and 3 show cross-sections of two different embodiments. The chain guard consists of a sheath b which encloses the chain and the ends of which are joined at point a. The casing can be made of rubber, in which case the ends at point a are either vulcanized together or connected by a metal connection.
In the example according to FIG. 2, the shell is so open on the inside that it only surrounds the chain link c on the outside, and that there is space between the edges d for the teeth of the front and rear sprockets to engage in the chain. So that the oil or grease of the chain cannot attack the casing, the inner surface e is coated with a lacquer. In the example according to FIG. 3, the edges of the casing are formed into beads f which touch one another. These are then separated from the gear itself before it engages, i.e. H. pushed apart according to the tooth width.
