Jeder .dieser Trok- kenböden <I>b</I> ist auf Federn<I>d</I> abgestützt.
2. 500 Teile feinstzerteilten Eisenoxyd- hydrates werden mit 50 Teilen leichtem Zinkoxyd und 10 Teilen Tragantpulver ver mischt. Diese Mischung wird mit 150 Teilen einer 20%igen Chremsäurelösung in eine Art plastischen Zustand versetzt;
g eintretenden entgegenkommenden Luft strom getrocknet.
Process and device for the production of materials in uniformly grained form. The intended use of many materia lien often requires their production and conversion into uniform granular form. For example, for spreading fertilizers, be it by hand or with spreading machines, a uniformly grained product with as uniform a particle size as possible is necessary.
In the case of fusible substances, the material is therefore often processed in a molten state, from which the desired grains are obtained with the help of a cooling roller or by spraying. However, when using such a working method, depending on the material being processed, large quantities of undersized and oversized grains are often obtained, which are separated off by sieving and usually returned to the melting process. Quite apart from the fact that not all materials can be processed in this way, such a process is cumbersome and expensive.
Agglomeration of the most varied of substances using movement and heat is also known. Even with this previously known method of operation, however, it is not possible to obtain the goods of uniform grain size immediately.
According to the method according to the present invention, the production of materials in a uniformly grained form is to be achieved in that the starting materials are at least partially in the solid aggregate state at least partially with a grain size that at least approximately corresponds to the desired grain size, the one the effects of heat and movement:
The method can be carried out, for example, in such a way that some of the starting materials as uniform respectively. Almost uniform grains of a grain size that approximates the desired grain size - and the other part is processed as fine flour in a rotating drum at elevated temperature.
The specified method is generally suitable for the granulation of any substances and mixtures of substances. In this way, for example, metal oxides and ores, as well as potassium nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers such as superphosphate, thomass and technical chemicals such as soda, sodium sulfate, table salt, potash salts, etc., can be easily converted into grains of uniform or almost uniform size.
In the case of a granular starting material of non-uniform grain size, the process can be carried out in such a way that the granular material, as it is obtained in the factory, is sieved out in an undried state. The sieve fractions, which approximately correspond to the desired grain size, are then intimately mixed with the dusty material and processed in a rotating drum.
The process can also be used to granulate chemically uniform substances. For example, in the manufacture of potassium chloride, a salt with a K.-0 = content of <B> 50% </B> and above is produced. Since such a salt is usually too high a percentage for fertilization purposes, it is brought to a content of 40 with a low percentage of crude salt. Such a mixture can easily be converted into uniform granular form by the above process. The production of granular potassium salts has not yet been technically solved. When mixing high-percentage fine salt with the mostly granular raw salt, a certain degree of demixing can never be completely avoided.
In such a case, the present method can be carried out in such a way that the grains of the crude salt are used as the core around which the high-percentage fine potash salt is deposited after it has been suitably ground beforehand. The production of grains is very economical, especially when using crude salt, since the undersized grain that occurs when the crude salt is crushed is sent to the chlorinated potash factory where it is processed into high-percentage pure chlorinated potash.
To produce a 40% granular potash salt is generally used equal parts of raw salt grains and hochprozen term fine chlorine potash. Correspondingly lower or higher percentage salts can be produced by changing the mixing ratio. You can also add other additives to the potash, for example, make mixed fertilizers from it; Such mixtures are of course even more homogeneous if the loose salts are simply mixed.
When processing only fine-grained material, the process can be carried out in such a way that the starting materials first turn into a kind of plastic state, if necessary with the addition of water or solutions by mechanical treatment such as mixing, kneading or grinding leads to be. When adding water-soluble salts and when processing materials.
which tend to stick together or stick under the influence of moisture, only a slight mechanical pretreatment of the material is necessary to bring about the plastic state. The mixture is then sent through a suitable sieve device, the openings of which correspond to the grain size to be produced.
The moisture content must always be measured in such a way that the mixture can be forced through a sieve or a grate or the like as a kind of plastic mass. The loose and still soft grains obtained are then solidified and dried by the action of heat and agitation.
When carrying out the process described, it is also easily possible to process the material to be granulated, as it is obtained during manufacture, without being dried. If, for example, a 40% potassium salt is to be converted into granular form, the fine salt coming from the crystallizers and possibly centrifuged will still be wet with some fine flour, possibly by grinding. of.
Salt is obtained, mixed. Any moisture that may still be missing can be added by spraying it with mother liquor. The moist mixture is then pressed through a sieve with an opening of about 3 mm and fed to a rotating dryer, from which the loosely coherent particles coming from the sieve are solidified and left dry. Approximately. 70 to 80%: of the mixture supplied is converted into grains of 1 to 3 mm, the resulting undersized or oversized grains are ground and used to produce a new mixture.
The process requires slightly more energy than the drying of the material itself requires. The desired grain size results from the mesh size of the sieve through which the moist mixture is fed to the dryer. The procedure described above can also be used when coarser grain and fine meal are processed together, because even then it is advantageous in many cases to use such a mixture to favor the placement of fine meal on the. Coarse grain and to prevent the formation of To convert oversized grain into a kind of plastic state.
If the starting materials are only available in coarse-grained form, if no additive is to be added, the fine flour content necessary to produce the plastic state can be achieved by grinding the starting material. With some salts, for example, the content of 10 to \? 0, ö fine flour is sufficient, which then cement the coarser crystals together.
A chemical or mechanical pretreatment can further reduce the amount of fine powdery substances required to convert it to the plastic state, and it has been found that the surfaces of individual grains of salt were changed in this way by rubbing, squeezing or kneading that when they are wet, they already have sufficient plasticity to carry out the process.
The chemical pretreatment to change the surface of the salts can consist of adding small amounts of acid or solvents.
For example, by adding very small amounts of sulfuric acid to the potash nitrate to be granulated or very small amounts of nitric acid to the ammonium sulfate, the conversion of the two salts into the plastic state can be favored, so that a special addition of fine flour or grinding of the Materials can be saved.
It is advisable to carry out the pretreatment of the goods, as well as the production of the state and the division of the plastic material in one operation.
A few numerically documented examples relating to the production of fertilizers show how the process can be carried out.
1. <B> 170 </B> parts of pre-eipitate flour with about 37% P20, about 40 parts of finely ground ammonium nitrate or a corresponding amount of 1 to.
70% ammonium nitrate solution are added, are intimately mixed in a heatable mixer, with about 100 parts of granular ammonium nitrate and 140 parts of granular potassium chloride, both substances with a grain size of 0.8 to 2 mm, optionally with the addition of a little water or water vapor. The finished mixture is placed in a heated,:
The rotating drum is transferred, where the grains preformed in the mixing machine at around 60 to <B> 100 '</B> round up even more, harden and are dried at the same time. A uniformly grained product is obtained with about 14% P20 ", 11% N and 15.5% K20. The ammonium salt added to the precipitate flour can also be completely or partially replaced by finely ground potassium chloride.
Potassium sulphate can also be used instead of potassium chloride, and magnesium phosphate can also be used instead of precipitate. 2. 115 parts of finely ground diammonophosphate are mixed with 20 parts of finely ground nurse nitrate and 10 parts of potassium chloride and a little water and then 150 parts of granular KCl or K2S04 and 80 parts of granular nurse nitrate, both with a grain size of 1 to 8 mm,
mixed in and the mixture rolled in the rotary drum and dried. A uniformly grained product with about 15% N, 15% P20 and 22% K20 is obtained. The core consist of a grain of KCl BEZW. NH, N03, the shell made of diamo- mon phosphate, which can also be replaced by monoammo- mon phosphate.
By varying the proportions, the nutrient ratio can be varied as desired.
A similar product is obtained if, in place of nurse nitrate, one starts from diammonophosphate with the addition of a little potash powder or solution and granular potash nitrate and ammonium chloride. Likewise, from superphosphate or precipitate and about a chlorinated potash flour or solution, as well as granular potassium sulphate or potassium chloride, a granular mixed fertilizer can be obtained which only contains phosphoric acid and potash.
B. 100 parts of finely ground (possibly with NH3 saturated tea) flour from brown coal or peat are mixed with 100 parts of diammonophosphate + 25 parts of urea and the necessary moisture and this mixture is 150 parts of granular potassium chloride or potassium sulfate, both in the same grain size, which is based on the desired grain size of the mixed fertilizer, mixed in and the whole thing treated in the rotary drum.
You get a coal respectively. humic acid-containing granular mixed fertilizer of brown color with about 12% N, <B> 1.8% </B> P20,;, 26% K20.
It should be mentioned that fertilizer mixtures which are already obtained as a mixture during the manufacturing process can also be converted into granular form in the manner described, for example by double conversion of potash or black carbon salts with phosphate solutions, since they are always sufficiently large Bere grains are obtained, on the surface of which the fine flour obtained can be stored. Also, with only granular raw materials, you can always grind a part of the same in order to obtain the favorable ratio between the amount of granules and fine flour.
Can be used to manufacture calcium ammonium nitrate. the procedure is carried out in such a way that: the nurse's nitrate in general in undroeknetem. Condition is brought to a uniform grain size of, for example, 0.5 to 1.5 mm, while the lime is ground below 0.1 mm. The components prepared in this way are brought into a rotating drum in the desired proportions, where the lime sticks in an even layer on the surface of the ammonium petal grains.
It has been found that in this way so much lime can be placed on the ammonium peterkörner that a uniformly grained product with 15 to 20% nitrogen can be produced. The lime adheres sufficiently firmly to the ammonium petal granules and does not fall off even after drying.
It was also found that .the lime layer on the ammonium pete grains is even harder if one adds a little finely ground ammens nitrate to the lime dust from the start. The lime can, for example, be ground together with some wet nurse, whereupon this mixture is deposited in a mixing drum on the surface of the ammonium petal grains.
The grains obtained are of a very uniform consistency and are extremely solidified by drying. It has been shown that instead of the nurse nitre added to the fine meal, other water-soluble salts can also be added to enhance the desired effect. If water is supplied, these salts can also be added to the granulated material as a solution.
The method is particularly suitable for the production of commercially available fertilizers, in which, for example, one component is used in powder form and the other in uniform granular form, the quantity ratio then being meticulously adapted to the desired composition of the fertilizer can be regulated.
The solidification of the grains in the rotating drum dryer prepares for some substances. which tend to stick. Difficulties insofar as after some time the caking on the walls must be removed. In order to counter these difficulties, it is advisable to work with materials that tend to stick, instead of using a rotating dryer with the help of a vibration dryer.
The yield of grains of the desired size can, however, be increased significantly. if the grains, which are still soft, are processed with the aid of vibration dryers. In this case, the still soft particles pressed through the sieve get on drying floors, which are set in a high frequency vibration with the help of an eccentric or a one-sided ar-working centrifugal mass. The dry floors are in a housing and are with something. Inclined on top of each other.
It can be useful to give the grains to be dried and solidified to the drying soil through a sieve that also vibrates. On the drying floors, the material is simultaneously exposed to the action of hot air or combustion gases, which, depending on the material to be processed, can be fed cocurrently or countercurrently or partially in circulation to the drying material.
The drying floors, which can be made of sheet metal or acid- and corrosion-resistant materials, for example, are conveniently hung so that they can swing freely in all directions. The drive of the oscillating organ is coordinated in such a way that the soils execute a movement that is as circular as possible, since with this arrangement the solidification and rounding of the grains is most complete.
With such a vibrating granulation dryer, up to 981 "o7 of the material can be converted into the desired grain size in one pass.
It is not necessary to finish drying in the vibration device, but the pre-dried material can also be freed of residual moisture in drying drums, since the individual particles in this state are already hardened to the extent that they can be mechanically dried Withstand stress in a rotating drum.
The following examples serve to explain the above: 1. 600 parts of a high-melting fireclay mass, which has been converted into granular form about the size of a hazelnut using suitable measures, are mixed with 200 parts of a very finely ground zirconium dioxide flour and 75 g of a 5% strength Cerium nitrate solution, which also contains 2% nickel as nitrate, mixed.
The zirconium dioxide powder is deposited on the chamotte grains; the encased grains are now solidified, rounded and dried at about <B> 80 '</B> on the vibration dryer. A contact is obtained which is well suited for methane conversion with water vapor and which has a very large surface area, although only little zirconium dioxide is consumed. In a similar way, you can herstel len other contacts that require little of the often very expensive contact material despite having a large effective surface.
Various exemplary embodiments of devices for carrying out the method according to the invention are shown schematically in the drawing.
For example, the device described in FIG. 1 can be used to carry out the method. In a fixed housing a there are several drying floors b placed one above the other, each of which is set in vibration by E. eccentric drive c. Each .these dry soil <I> b </I> is supported on springs <I> d </I>. The hot air used for drying is supplied through connecting pipe e and discharged through pipe f.
Built-in guide plates g ensure the best possible distribution of the dry air. The still loose particles of the material to be granulated, which have been prepared in a mixer (not shown), are distributed over the entire width of the uppermost drying floor b by the chute h. The chute h is expediently curved upwards and can be connected to the uppermost drying floor b and thus also vibrate. The material runs over the drying floors b, where it is rounded and solidified, and leaves the apparatus a through a discharge device k.
2. 500 parts of finely divided iron oxide hydrates are mixed with 50 parts of light zinc oxide and 10 parts of tragacanth powder. This mixture is mixed with 150 parts of a 20% strength chromic acid solution in a kind of plastic state;
the plasticization is pressed through a sieve with a <I> s </I> 'he Mier mesh size of about 8 mm, where somewhat elongated loose particles are formed which fall directly into the vibration dryer and at a temperature of about <B> 100 '</B> solidified, rounded and dried.
In a similar way, powdery and queasy iron and manganese ores, for example lawn iron ore, possibly mixed with a corresponding amount of carbon, can be converted into granular form and made usable for the iron and steel industry.
Fine flotation ores such as zinc blende, roasted gravel and the like can also be prepared for the smelting process using this method.
The present granulation process can be carried out, for example, with the following device (FIG. 2). The already mixed material to be treated is fed through a chute a to a dryer T which is in vibration. The dryer T consists of a housing e, which is equipped with built-in roof-shaped drying floors d. A shaft e located in the middle causes the entire housing and thus also the drying floors d to vibrate.
The drive e is eccentric. The housing c rests on the springs f. Warm air is blown in through the connection line g. The material is fed through the chute a onto the sieve b, which also vibrates, and with the aid of a general pressing device h arranged above it, the plastic mass reaching the sieve is pressed through the holes corresponding to the desired grain size.
The pressing device la can for example consist of a normal shaft j with pressure rams k working on it. Rotating rollers and the same devices can also be used to press the material through. The still loose particles pressed by the sieve device b migrate over the roof-shaped resonating device d and are rounded and solidified by the vibration shocks and at the same time by the.
g incoming oncoming air stream dried. The completely dried and solidified material leaves the vibrating device at m. Another example is the conversion of a mixture of ammonium nitrate with loam or clay into a uniformly grained form:
53 parts by weight of granular ammonia salt are moistened in a mixer with 10 parts by weight of ammonia galpeter solution containing 50% NHQN03, whereupon 42 parts of fine-grain clay or loam are added. The mixture obtained is fed to a vibration dryer via a dividing screw, where it is pre-dried, solidified and rounded.
The product obtained in this way is, if necessary, post-dried in drying devices of conventional design. Instead of clay or loam, naturally occurring aluminum silicates, for example leucite flour, etc. can also be added.
Depending on the nature of the starting material, you will naturally also have to select the dividing device by which the mass is broken down into even and still soft grains. Thus, instead of the already mentioned sieve device in the processing of the: pla stically made coarse and fine grains, a dividing device would advantageously be used, which is shown in Fig. 3a and 3b.
This dividing device consists of an elongated heated trough a, in the interior of which three shafts b rotate, which are provided in a known manner with interlocking mixing blades c or half or whole perforated discs. The disks or wings interlock in such a way that the wing tips of one shaft almost reach over to the other shaft. The wing distance is such that only grains of the desired size between the wings can still wander through the apparatus. The wings c are on promotion. that is, set at an angle.
The waves b rotate in opposite directions through gear transmission, in such a way that with each rotation the wings of two neighboring waves between each other durchgrei fen. This has the effect that coarser particles that form temporarily are broken up again. The mixer can work continuously, you can also switch several mixers in series so that the material is conveyed from one to the other. The mixing trough can be positioned at an angle to support the conveying effect.
Nozzles are arranged above the mixing trough, which supply the material with the moisture required to produce the plastic state in the form of water, salt solution or steam in a sufficiently fine form. For example, a 20% lime ammonium saltpeter can be produced from 50 parts of granular nurse nitrate, to which a finely powdered mixture of 42 parts lime and 8 parts nursery nitrate is added.
Even in the first part of this mixing and pre-graining device, the fine flour is deposited on the grainy nurse's nitrate, then solidifies under the influence of moisture and warming and finally leaves it. the apparatus in the form of small, still soft grains, the size of which is determined by the ammonium pete grain used, whereupon the product is further solidified and dried in the drum dryer or in the vibration dryer if necessary.
In a similar way, mixed fertilizers can be made from several substances, for example ammonium sulphate nitrate from ammonium nitrate grains and ammonium sulphate flour, which is stored externally, further mixed and complete fertilizers made from nurse phosphate, potassium chloride, potassium nitrate or precipitate or magnesium phosphate, which always have one component, for example the potash, in the form of grains, around which the other material in flour form is stored.
The device shown schematically in Fig. 1 is only an example embodiment. Other devices can be used for the intended purpose, provided that such devices meet the requirement that the fine flour is applied to the granular material during the mixing process and as evenly granular material: leaves the device.
The processing of fine-grained materials, which have been put into a kind of plastic state through appropriate treatment, takes place in a splitter, which in principle consists of a perforated, milling-like acting roller or disk against which the plastic material is placed is pressed.
In this mode of operation, the material is divided up into particles of the same size, which fall out through the holes in the roller and are then fed to the vibration dryer without lass them beforehand having the opportunity to aggregate into larger particles again. The easiest way to avoid the agglomeration of the particles is to arrange the dividing apparatus directly above the dryer, possibly with the interposition of a sieve or any other feed or distribution device. The dividing device can also be set up to be heatable.
The design of the described cutter-like device for dividing the plastic mass can be different. If no high pressure is required and the material's own pressure is sufficient, the precoxner, as shown schematically in FIGS. 4 and 5, can be designed; the perforated, inclined roller for milling is then directly under the bunker.
The roller, which can also be conical, can also be set up for back and forth movement and then lie horizontally, with an opening at the bottom of the roller through which the material falls out.
The cutter-like acting holes can all be the same for the same direction of rotation or also; be worked into the roller for back and forth movement, alternately for one or the other direction of rotation.
An example of the design of the milling cutter-like holes is shown in FIG. 6.
Another embodiment of the dividing apparatus is shown in FIGS. The plastic material located in a bunker (a) is pressed against the milling drum (b) by one or more pistons (c), that is, under pressure. This roller can be cylindrical or conical and arranged vertically or obliquely.
In the case of a horizontal arrangement, the roller can again be provided with holes acting on two sides and perform a back and forth movement, the material falling out through openings on the underside.
Instead of the pistons, the material can also be pressed against the roller by a movable bunker wall (d) that can be rotated (compare Fig. 9). In FIG. 10, instead of a milling drum, a vertical milling disc is used, in which the material is pressed against the entire surface of the milling disc by its own pressure or by machine.
In Fig. 11 and 12 show a pre-graining apparatus with a horizontal milling disc, above which there are one or more containers in which the material is pressed against the milling disc by machine or by its own pressure.
The ge mixed and pre-grained material as described above is conveniently fed to a high-frequency ar processing vibration dryer in which the soft grains, as they come from the pre-graining device, are rounded due to the vibration with simultaneous transport. Before such devices have already been explained in more detail above and shown in the drawings in FIGS. Other versions show the Fix. 16 and 14.
In the vibration dryer Fig. 18, the sheets cc "b" cx, dl and e, are combined to form a vibration system and the sheets a2, b2, c2, d2 and e2 are combined to form a second vibration system.
The vibrations of the systems, .which are stored in any way, respectively. are suspended, which are caused by, for example, the rotation of eccentrically arranged masses f and f ″, which are fastened to shafts g1 and g, respectively. Shaft g2 rotates counterclockwise while shaft g rotates clockwise Rotates clockwise.
This ensures that the material on the sheets a2, b2, c2, d2 and e moves from left to right and vice versa on the sheets cal, b, <I> e ,, </I> d, and e1. so it gets the material from the sheet a. to sheet b1 etc.
In Fig. 1ä, the two oscillation systems are arranged suspended, for example in inclined springs il and i2; the two systems can also be supported by vertical springs suspended or standing, the horizontal forces being absorbed by horizontal springs.
Instead of the vertical springs, inclined leaf springs can also be used, the systems still being held by horizontally lying springs; here the vibrations can also be caused by fast impulses in an approximately horizontal direction. A regulation of these impulses is desirable if the material to be granulated fluctuates frequently in its composition. It is advisable to use a drive in this case, which generates the vibration pulses electro-magnetically and thus controllably.
To dry the material, hot gases, for example air, are introduced into the granulating apparatus, for example through the nozzle (h). In Fig. 1d, this nozzle is placed approximately in the middle of the apparatus, so that the air is distributed approximately evenly on the lower and upper part, depending on the resistance that the air passes through the apparatus.
Through this arrangement, the attachment of inlet and respectively. Outlet sluices avoided, as they are otherwise necessary with dry tissue. Instead, the air can also be sucked in through the nozzle (da), with the warm air being fed in at another point.
The sealing of the individual sheets, which is necessary so that the air also sweeps over the entire material in the desired manner, can be done by connecting the sheets in the housing with an elastic material (le), but it can also be done by Attachment of clovers can be achieved on the housings.
In Fig. 14d and 14b, another granulate dryer is shown, which is only equipped with a vibration system, but those sheets must be arranged at an angle on which a reverse conveyance would otherwise occur; but you can also arrange all sheets at an angle. In the dryer shown, curved leaf springs c are attached to one end of two frames <I> a </I> and <I> b </I>.
The other end of the springs is connected to a bearing e, which is also fastened to the housing f, in which the support surfaces for the goods are located. A shaft g runs in the bearings e, on which one or more eccentrically arranged masses h be found. The shaft is driven by a pulley or clutch h. set in rapid rotation, whereby the housing f is set in vibration with the metal sheets.
Instead of the embodiment of a vibration dryer shown in FIGS. 1, 9, instead of the two oscillating systems, three or more systems can be connected to one another in succession, where the material always comes from a base System moves to the next lower lying system.
Perforated floors can also be used by using fine-meshed sieves, perforated or slotted metal sheets or overlapping, step-like, stepped sheet metal strips over which the material runs while the air passes through the existing gaps, where by particularly intimate contact with the granulated material takes place with the air.
Instead of the arrangement according to FIG. 1a, the vibration can also be carried out by adjustable eccentric masses that rotate around a vertical shaft, the individual floors being verbun with one another in helical form or the individual floors lying on top of one another like a spiral staircase.
The above particularly described embodiments of the claimed Vorrich device: are only for example; Changes are possible, provided the principle of the invention is applied, and are also covered by the invention.
