15 Teile Cibanonblau GCD (Schultz, Farbstofftabellen, 7. Aufl., Bd.
Dye preparation. It has been found that dye preparations which contain a pigment and a hardened carbamide-formaldehyde condensation product are valuable products.
The pigments which can be used for the production of the dye preparations can be inorganic or organic, water-insoluble dyes; it is suitable for example vat dyes, such as the indigoid and anthraquinoid dyes, sulfur dyes, insoluble azo dyes, already laked dyes,
such as the barium lacquers organic dyes or the insoluble azo dyes, which contain metals such as chromium, copper or nickel in complex bonds, as well as inorganic pigments and earth colors such as ocher, umber, iron oxide, Berlin blue , Ultramarine and chrome green. The carbamide-formaldehyde condensation products, which are contained in hardened form in the dye preparations, can be used in the most varied of condensation stages,
namely in what water-soluble to water-insoluble form, where the physical state can be low to high viscous, gelatinous or solid. The formaldehyde condensation products of urea and urea derivatives are suitable, such as, for example, the formaldehyde products (mono- and polymeric formaldehyde) of thiourea, dicyandiamide, biuret, guanidine, guanylurea or.
of phenylurea and mixtures of these substances BEZW. their formaldehyde condensation products with urea respectively. its formaldehyde condensation products. The use of mixtures of the formaldehyde condensation products of different carbamides has proven to be very advantageous.
For example, the technical mixture of cyanuric acid, biuret, guanylurea, etc., which is obtained by heating urea to about 160 'for 12 to 48 hours, can be used in the form of formaldehyde condensation products ; Furthermore, artificial mixtures of the formaldehyde condensation products of thiourea and urea, which contain about 5 to 20% thiourea and 95 to 80% urea, can also advantageously be used.
The hardening can be achieved by heat treatment at about 70 to 160 respectively. advantageously carried out at about 180 to 140; it can take place before or after mixing the pigment with the condensation product of the dye preparation or be combined with the mixing.
The dye preparations can be produced in a wide variety of ways. For example, the components, that is to say the pigment and the hardened carbamide-formaldehyde condensation product, can be ground or mixed with one another.
This grinding and mixing can BEZW without addition or in the presence of water or other suspending agents. such solvents take place in which the pigment may be soluble; it is also possible to work in the presence of dispersants, such as sulfonated castor oil, or white fillers, such as zinc oxide, zinc sulfide or titanium oxide.
If one starts from non-hardened carbamide-formaldehyde condensation product, then this can, for example, be ground with the pigment and thus hardening can be combined with heat treatment: it is also possible, and particularly advantageous, to heat treatment only after the pigment has been mixed the carbamide-formaldehyde condensation product.
The dye preparations can be distinguished by their depth of color, great luminosity, transparency in 01 and excellent lightfastness; They can, for example, as dyes for oil paints, varnishes, linoleum, fer ner for the production of printing inks, eg. B. for the graphic industry, for paper printing or wallpaper printing who used the.
Example <I> 1: </I> A carbamide-formaldehyde product of a medium condensation stage is produced as follows: 600 parts of urea are dissolved in 1620 parts of 37% by weight formaldehyde, approximately 80 parts of Norit Supnos (an active filter carbon) suspended in the solution and the mixture filtered. The water-clear solution has a pH of around 7. SW is then heated to 100 in a closed vessel for 8 hours. The somewhat thick, water-clear liquid can easily be diluted with 1 to 3 parts of water, but becomes cloudy with further dilution.
7.5 parts of finely powdered thiourea are dissolved in 100 parts of the above solution at a moderate temperature = paint.
15 parts of Cibanon blue GCD (Schultz, Dye Tables, 7th Edition, Vol. I, No. 1234) are ground with 300 parts of this varnish overnight in a ball mill. The fine suspension obtained is then heated to 130 for 4 hours. He holds a bright dye preparation of deep blue color and excellent light and water resistance.
<I> Example 2 </I> 4 parts of gas black are wetted with 10 parts of alcohol and suspended in 400 parts of water of <B> 80 '</B>. 100 parts of the lacquer described in Example 1 are then added and, after some stirring, 5 parts by volume of hydrochloric acid diluted with 20 parts of water. The quark-like precipitate completely encloses the gas soot. After filtering, washing and drying at <B> 80 '</B>, 24 parts of a gray-black pigment are obtained which contain about 16.7 / o gas black. <I> Example 3 </I> 100 parts of a heat-treated carbamide-formaldehyde condensation product are finely pulverized by milling for several days, for example in a ball mill.
Then 5 parts of indigo are added and further-ground until the mixture has reached the desired degree of fineness. This is the case when a sample diluted with water and poured onto paper no longer shows any dye grains, but appears homogeneously blue. A dye preparation of blue color is obtained which is rubbed in with a translucent <B> 01 </B>.
In a very analogous manner to that described in the examples, other dyes (see introduction) can also be used, dye preparations being obtained which are colored in a wide variety of hues.
