Description

Process for deodorization and partial biological treatment of organically polluted waste water. There is organically contaminated wastewater, which is particularly noticeable due to the rapid formation of hydrogen sulfide and the accompanying phenomena associated with it. This phenomenon is particularly annoying because it can only be completely eliminated through biological post-treatment of the wastewater in question. However, there are very many cases in which deodorization is desirable, but 100%, i.e. complete biological aftertreatment of the wastewater is either omitted in view of the resulting high costs, or does not appear necessary because of favorable drainage conditions .

The present invention provides the opportunity to fill this gap in wastewater engineering. The deodorization and biological partial treatment is done by bringing the pre-clarified wastewater into contact with peat coke. Coked peat contains an extraordinarily high content of active charcoal, for example it removes every trace of hydrogen sulfide in the wastewater in seconds. Devices for Fil tration by means of peat coke can be designed in the simplest way; you can z. B. simple tubes that are closed at the top and bottom with sieve-like devices, fill with the material and let the water flow through either in the horizontal or vertical direction.

Furthermore, in such filters through the well-known biological processes, reinforced by the activated carbon content of the material, the fouling ability of the wastewater, if not completely eliminated, is reduced in percentage terms very strongly. The embodiment of the device is otherwise arbitrary.
