Device intended for making grooves in pneumatic jackets. The subject of the present invention is a device intended for making grooves in pneumatic jackets. If the wear and tear of an air hose jacket has progressed so far that the grooves disappear completely or almost completely, the jacket must be replaced in accordance with the statutory provisions. The purpose of the present invention is to provide such coats with expired running surfaces with grooves.
In the device according to the invention, a shaft is rotatably mounted in a holder to be guided by hand. This shaft carries a replaceable cutting tool. An adjustable guide member which determines the depth of the grooves is provided on the holder. Means can also be provided which can be used as an aid when guiding the tool on the running surface of the casing.
In the drawing, an execution example of the subject invention is shown schematically table. 1 shows a side view of the device, and FIG. 2 shows a detail of the same.
The illustrated device has a holder 1 in which a sleeve 2 serving as a handle is attached. In the latter, a shaft 3 is rotatably mounted, which is secured against axial displacement by rings 4. At the right end of the shaft 3 not visible coupling members are provided any kind to which a drive shaft, z. B. a flexible, motor-driven shaft can be connected. At the other end of the shaft 3 there is a replaceable cutting tool 5.
This is hollow at the front end; it has a truncated cone provided with a circular cutting edge 6 and a lateral opening 7 through which the material worked from the jacket can exit. The cutting tool, of which at least the cutting point is made of high quality steel, is pressed against the material by means of the holder 1. In the holder 1, a bolt 8 is now adjustable parallel to the handle 2. This has a transverse bore in which a cylindrical pin 9 is slidable ver and by means of screw 10 is arranged lockable bar.
In the pin 9 a guide member 11 is rotatably mounted, which is provided with a roughened jacket. This guide member can be set with respect to the cutting edge 6 of the tool 5, so that the groove worked out by the cutting tool cannot exceed a certain predeterminable depth. On the bolt 8 are now provided laterally in front of jumping guide arms 12, which protrude over the side of the shell down. These guides 12, which can easily be removed, serve to guide the tool laterally on the Prieu when a groove is to be machined on the jacket.
Instead of the organs 12, other aids for guiding the tool could also be provided. The device can be releasably fastened to an organ guided on the rim, on the hub or on the shaft.
