Gear for converting the torque respectively. the speed. The invention relates to a Ge gear for converting the torque BEZW. the speed of an engine, in particular for vehicles driven by an internal combustion engine, and is gekennzeich net by the combination of a pump and a turbine having fluid transmission with a differential gear, of which a main part with the output shaft of the engine and the other main parts each with one Part of the fluid transmission are in connection.
The curve of the torque applied as a function of the speed. which can be accommodated on the pump side of a fluid transmission, has a parabolic course. Fluid drives thus have the property that they can only transmit significant torques in the vicinity of the normal operating speed, whereas at lower speeds they are able to transmit small torques. In many cases, however, a large torque must be transmitted at low speeds, so that a mechanical transmission must also be used for operation at low speeds.
The advantage is then achieved that the torque applied by the engine can be transmitted in full even at low speeds, but at higher speeds the machine would then be overloaded as a result of the further increase in the torque absorbed by the transmission, i.e. the speed of the machine cannot be accelerated any further. If the mechanical transmission is then switched off, it falls. the transmittable torque is reduced to a fraction of the full torque, so that again not the full power can be transmitted.
If a differential gear is switched on between the engine and the fluid transmission, a main part of which is connected to the output shaft of the engine and the other main parts are each connected to a part of the fluid transmission, there is the possibility that the speed difference between the pump part and the turbine part of the fluid transmission can be used to change the transmission ratio between the shaft of the power machine and the pump part of the fluid transmission,
so that when the maximum possible torque of the engine is reached, the torque to be transmitted at increased speeds no longer drops to a fraction of the full value, but can be kept at the maximum value permanently.
The fluid transmission can be a fluid coupling having a pump and a turbine, a speed converter having a pump, a control apparatus and a turbine, or finally a transmission which, depending on the operating conditions, can be used either as a speed converter with pump, control apparatus and turbine or as a Coupling works without a diffuser, can be used. The differential gear can be designed as a planetary gear or as a friction roller gear.
Advantageously, the spherical gear of a planetary gear with the shaft of the engine, the sun gear with the pump wheel and the planetary gear unit with the turbine wheel of the liquid gear is brought into connection. But it can also be connected to the sun gear of the planetary gear with the pump wheel, the spherical gear with the tur binenrad of the fluid gear and the planetary gear unit with the drive shaft of the engine.
The invention will bezw based on the drawing. 1 is explained in more detail by some torque curves, some of which are abstract, and FIGS. 2 to 4 are explained in more detail by some embodiments shown in simplified form.
The speed n1 of the engine is plotted as the abscissa in the diagram (FIG. 1) as a fraction of the normal speed and the torque 111d - also as a fraction of the normal torque of the engine - is selected as the ordinate. Curve 1 shows the course of those moments which can still be transmitted through a fluid coupling at different engine speeds.
At the normal speed n1 = 1.0 of the engine, the normal torque Md = 1.0 is transmitted. Since the 31d curve takes on a parabolic course, only a small torque is still transmitted through the clutch when the engine speed is reduced; for example, at half the engine speed, only the normal torque is transmitted and at the speed hardly any more '. / lo of the normal torque.
If a mechanical transmission gear, for example with a ratio of 2: 1, is switched on between the engine and the fluid coupling, greater torques can be transmitted through the fluid coupling - as curve 2 shows. For example, the full torque is taken up at half the normal speed of the engine on the pump side of the liquid coupling.
However, since the torque to be applied by the motor is twice as high as the torque acting in the pump part of the clutch when the ratio is 2: 1, the curve of the torque to be applied by the motor is actually given by curve 3 . It can be seen that at an engine speed that is approximately 0.3.5 times the normal speed, the torque on the pump side of the fluid coupling has already grown to 0.5 times the normal torque of the engine, the engine already has his full moment to muster.
By engaging the mechanical transmission with a ratio of 2: 1, the effect is achieved that the engine can already transfer the normal torque to the transmission at 0.35 times the normal speed.
The engine cannot be accelerated at all more than 0.35 times the normal rotational speed, because greater torques would then be required for the pump side of the clutch. However, if the transmission gear is switched off, the result is that the torque transmitted by the gear no longer has 0.15 times the amount of the normal torque, so that again only a fraction of the power of the engine can be used.
However, if the transmission ratio of the mechanical transmission between the prime mover and the fluid transmission can be changed gradually from the value 2: 1 to the value 1: 1 instead of suddenly, it is possible to keep the torque that can be transmitted from the machine to the transmission at the normal value to keep. It is then always the normal torque between the speed range 0.3'5 and 1.0. 1.0 of the engine transferred to the transmission. The size of the torque absorbed by the pump impeller runs roughly according to a curve 4. At the normal speed n1 - 1.0 of the engine, the normal torque of the engine is 31.1 = 1, through the transmission. 0 transferred.
The engine shaft 10 (FIGS. 2, 3 and 4) drives a shaft 11 via a planetary and liquid transmission, which is connected to a power-consuming part. The planetary gear consists of the planetary gear unit 12, a sun gear 13 and a spherical gear 14. The fluid gear according to FIG. 2 has a pump wheel 15 and a turbine wheel 16.
The Ausfüh approximately examples according to Fig. 3 and 4 have in addition to the impeller 15 and the turbine wheel 1.6 or a diffuser 17. The part of the planetary gear connected to the shaft 10 of the engine also has a ring gear 1 $, in which the to start the Engine serving machine engages.
In the example shown in FIG. 2, the planetary gear unit 12 is connected to the turbine gear 16, the sun gear 13 to the pump gear 15 and the spherical gear 14 to the drive shaft 10.
When the shaft 10 begins to rotate, the shaft 11 with the tur binenrad 16 is initially still. Thus, the planetary gear unit is also prevented from rotating, so that the sun gear 13 is driven by the spherical gear 14 via the wheels of the non-rotating planetary gear unit. The speed of the sun gear is thus in the ratio of the radius of the spherical wheel to the radius of the sun gear greater than the speed of the spherical wheel. The transmission according to FIG. 2 is mainly intended for vehicles that provide wel che shifting service, in which the speed of the engine is always greater than the speed to be transmitted to the drive axles.
In the example shown in Fig. 3, the planetary gear unit with the turbine wheel and the sun gear with the pump wheel of the fluid transmission is verbun the, while the spherical wheel 14 is attached to the drive shaft 10 to. The transmission according to FIG. 3 works essentially in the same way as the transmission according to FIG. 2, but utilizing the improved characteristics of the fluid transmission due to the addition of the guide device 17.
In the example shown in FIG. 4, the spherical wheel 14 is connected to the turbine wheel 16 and the sun wheel 13 to the pump wheel 15, while the planetary gear unit 12 is now connected to the drive shaft 10. When starting, the driven shaft 11 stands still, thus also the spherical wheel 14. The planetary gear unit 12 driven by the drive shaft 10 therefore rolls on the inner side of the spherical wheel and drives the sun gear 1.3 at increased speed.
But if after starting the speed of the driven shaft 11 is approximately the same as the speed of the drive shaft 10, then. The sun gear 13 and the spherical gear 14 will also rotate at approximately the same speed. The planet gears can then no longer roll on the circumference of the sun wheel and the spherical wheel, so that ultimately the pump wheel 15 has approximately the same speed as the drive shaft 10.
The invention further achieves the advantage that by switching on the fluid transmission, the torsional vibrations of the drive shaft are not transmitted to the driven shaft because the power is transmitted at least in part by a fluid, the primary and the secondary part of the liquid keitsgetriebes always have the necessary slip to destroy the torsional vibrations.
A certain relief of the individual parts, in particular the fluid gear at high torques, is also possible in that the power is transmitted not only via the fluid gear, but also partly via the differential gear.
In addition to planetary gears, as shown, bevel gears or friction roller differential gears can also be used as differential gears.
Of course, other connections than those described can be established between the individual main parts of the differential gear and the liq sigkeitsgetriebes.
The invention can also be applied to vehicles which are driven by electric motors, in particular if the motors work synchronously or only with low speed adjustment. But it can also be applied to all sorts of other areas, whereby a power machine BEZW a work-taking machine. Shaft with a larger speed range or with very different torques must be driven
