Polsterelement.
Upholstery element. The invention relates to an element which is to be used for upholstery. The upholstery element comes into consideration for the upholstery of seating and rest furniture, in particular chairs, benches, and also for upholstery for doors and walls. The upholstery element can serve as a base for the surface of the upholstery, or it can itself form the surface of the upholstery.
The upholstery element is formed from symmetrically joined rubber sheets with a profiled cross-section. What is new is that the upholstery element consists of at least one chamber filled with gas (air), which is surrounded by an edge strip of such width that other similar upholstery elements can be attached by gluing the adjoining edges with a rubber solution or the like is possible.
It is expedient to proceed in the formation of the chambers in such a way that the plates are united by vulcanization and within the area of the chamber the symmetrically joined rubber plates are connected at other points except at the edge, the distance between the connection points being in one be correct relationship to the prevailing gas or gas in the chamber. Air pressure.
In pursuance of the inventive concept, several such chambers can be provided in a mat connected to one another in such a way that the mat has continuous strips between the chambers of such width according to its length and width,
that a separation of individual pieces of mat by cutting the strips in the longitudinal direction of the same BEZW. It is still possible to add individual pieces of mat by gluing the edges of the strips that remain after cutting off.
In the drawing, the object of the invention is shown in one embodiment.
Fig. 1 is a plan view; FIG. 2 is a sectional side view of FIG. 1. The exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing is a mat a, which consists of a plurality of gas- or air-filled chambers, which are lined up and tensioned by the filling. Preferably, the mat is produced by vulcanizing two rubber sheets e, d with a profiled cross section.
When vulcanizing remain between the chambers respectively. on the edge of the mat strip e left. These strips are carried out in such a width that it is possible to zuzubnei the upholstery element for the intended use or. add another mat to the mat by gluing the adjoining edges using a rubber solution. Instead of being at right angles, as shown, the stripes can also be pointed or. Cross swamp at an angle.
It is advisable to vulcanize the two Cxtimmi plates c and d together at the same time in the area of the gas or Air pressure chambers connected at several adjacent places f , namely by jointly vulcanizing. The jointed areas f, , which are distributed like dots on the mat, can be designed with such a width
that if necessary perforations can be made at these points without the risk of the enclosed gas escaping from the chambers.
By moving the dots closer together, sie leaves the suspension in the mat. arbitrarily active In, the invention achieves a technical progress in the respect that the upholstery element is of very low thickness, i.e. it is extremely space-saving and has a high elasticity, combined with good firmness, with the upholstery means still having an entire - Surface has distributed, in particular evenly distributed, good cushioning.
