Control and regulation device for piston steam engines. The present invention relates to a control and regulating device for piston steam engines, in particular for those high speed and high steam pressure.
In such piston steam engines, there are great difficulties in designing a mechanism suitable for open-loop and closed-loop control. High fresh steam pressures (e.g. 100 at) require single-seat valves for reasons of tightness. However, these valves cannot be relieved in spite of the increased compression, which is why very considerable forces. for example, up to over 1000 kg act on the valve movement mechanism.
The latter must therefore be designed and mounted correspondingly strong, but it must also be ensured that at high speeds the mass pressures of the control parts are not too great. The continuity of the regulation, which is absolutely necessary, can be achieved by a cam control which has two cams for the two inlet valves controlling the opposite cylinder sides, one of which opens the inlet valves (pre-inflow),
the other closes the inlet valves (filling shut-off). By rotating the filling stop cam relative to the pre-opening cam, which is wedged onto the control shaft, constant, that is to say stepless, variability of the cylinder filling is achieved.
When opening the inlet valve, there are no back pressures on the regulating mechanism because the pre-inflow cam is wedged onto the control shaft. In contrast to this, when closing with the use of Eincitz valves, such reactions of the adjustable closing cam on the regulating mechanism occur. As a result of the large pressure difference in front of and behind the valve, forces of a similar magnitude arise as when the valves lift.
These valve forces, which are tied to the use of steam-tight single-seat valves and which are particularly large with high-pressure steam, now act on the regulating organs via the adjustable filling stop cam and the subject matter of the present invention, using means known per se, is a fast-moving one High-pressure piston steam engines have the advantage of creating suitable new control and regulation.
It is hardly possible, please include to bring about the change in filling with the help of the well-known axis controller in piston steam engine construction and a servo motor actuated by pressure oil is therefore provided.
The impulse and control organs of the respectively. the servomotors and the drive mechanism of the inlet valves are advantageously arranged in a housing flanged to the side of the cylinder on the stator of the steam engine.
The drawing shows, for example, the application of the subject matter of the invention to a three-cylinder direct current; - Dampfma machine with vertical arrangement of the cylinder shown, namely: Fig. 1, the control and regulating device in plan view from the outside, partially in section, Fig. 2 is a cross section.
The control shaft a is driven by means of gear transmission b from the crankshaft of the steam engine. The control shaft and crankshaft have the same speed. The opposite sides of the cylinder control the inlet valves c are actuated by a pair of cams. One of the cams, the pre-inflow cam d, is wedged onto the control shaft, while the other cam, the filling end cam e, can rotate relative to the first.
The filling end cam e has a cylindrical extension f, which is seen on the inside with a multi-start worm thread. The relative rotation of the r'ülungsabsehlussnoeken e is brought about by a control screw h that rotates with the control shaft a and is displaceable along a wedge g and engages in the mentioned shoulder.
The roller pairs moved by the two cams i. each valve c cause the same to open and close in a known manner. The control jacks h belonging to the inlet valves c of cylinders A. and B are firmly connected to one another and are axially displaced by the servomotor 7 with the aid of the adjusting lever 1 and the sliding ring.
The control screw of cylinder C is either moved by the servo motor of cylinders A. and B as shown in the drawing, or by a special servo motor, but in any case so that the filling change of all cylinders takes place simultaneously and to the same extent.
The servomotor k operated by pressurized oil is controlled in a known manner by a piston valve n, which is operated by the centrifugal spring pendulum o or another pulse element (pressure relay)
adjusted and is returned to the central position by a return rod q, which is steered to the servomotor piston rod p. The double piston valve r inserted in the oil channels between the piston valve n and the servomotor k is disengaged from a safety regulator (not shown in the figures) in the event of the failure of the main control, whereupon the servomotor stops Oil pressure and spring force go into the closed position and,
sets the zero filling. The speed controller o is driven by the control shaft a. A manual or electrical speed adjustment, not shown, acts on s.
The servomotor k can, as shown in Fig. 1 to 9, serve to control all cylinders. However, individual groups of cylinders can also be operated by a servomotor, or each cylinder by a special servomotor.
The entire control and regulating mechanism, including: the valve cams and the valve actuation, the .Steuschnecken with sliding rings and levers, the servo motor and / or. the servomotors with the control slides, the return rod, the centrifugal pendulum with drive and speed adjustment Jung, is mounted in a housing t, which is supported on the side of the cylinder row on the frame of the steam engine at 2c and flanged to this.
This housing is easily accessible from the circulation gallery by opening the vertically arranged cover v. Suitable openings are made on the housing for good oil drainage, good ventilation and drainage.
