Dispositif servant à relier entre elles les extrémités de courroies. L'objet de la présente invention est un dispositif servant à relier entre elles les extré mités de courroies.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution du. dispositif suivant l'invention.
Les fig. 1 à 4 montrent les diverses piè ces, et les fig. 5 et 6 montrent l'ensemble reliant entre elles deux extrémités de cour roies.
Le dispositif représenté se compose de deux plaquettes en laiton<I>a</I> et<I>b</I> de forme rectangulaire dont l'une a (fig.1) bombée est plus grande que l'autre b (fig. 2) et pré sente sur sa face extérieure et s'étendant sur toute sa longueur une rainure c (fig. 1 et 3). Les plaquettes présentent chacune deux fen tes g, h. respectivement<I>k, m</I> et la plaquette b est plate et présente entre les fentes k et m un logement (fig. 4) obtenu en repoussant le métal de cette plaquette.
Les plaquettes sont assemblées de façon à serrer entre elles les extrémités des courroies à relier, au moyen d'une languette en laiton d recourbée en forme de<B>U,</B> et dont la partie inférieure vient se loger dans le logement présenté par la plaquette b. Les branches de la languette en U passent à travers les fentes des plaquettes et à travers des fentes pratiquées dans les extrémités des courroies à relier, les extré mités des branches de la languette étant rabattues dans la rainure c de la plaquette a. La plaquette a est bombée afin d'être rigide tout en ayant un faible poids. Plaquettes et languette pourraient, au lieu d'être en laiton, être faites en un autre métal ou autre ma tière.
On pourrait, sans sortir du cadre (le l'invention, donner aux plaquettes une autre forme ou les faire de différentes largeurs avec une ou plusieurs languettes. On pourrait aussi remplacer les branches de la languette en U par des boulons à écrous fixés à la plaquette b.
Pour relier les extrémités de courroies e (fig. 5 et 6), on pratique une fente nette en travers sur la largeur de chacune des extré mités des courroies de même dimension que la section des branches de la languette d en forme de U, cette languette est ensuite intro duite dans les fentes des plaquettes et des courroies de façon que les plaquettes se trou vent de part et d'autre des courroies et l'on rabat ensuite les extrémités des branches de la languette dans la rainure c de la pla quette cc de façon à serrer 1e tout ensemble.

The device shown is made up of two brass plates <I> a </I> and <I> b </I> of rectangular shape, one of which a (fig. 1) convex is larger than the other b ( fig. 2) and has on its outer face and extending over its entire length a groove c (fig. 1 and 3). The plates each have two windows g, h. respectively <I> k, m </I> and the plate b is flat and has a housing between the slots k and m (fig. 4) obtained by pushing the metal of this plate.
The plates are assembled so as to clamp the ends of the belts to be connected together, by means of a brass tongue d curved in the shape of a <B> U, </B> and the lower part of which is housed in the housing presented by the brochure b. The branches of the U-shaped tongue pass through the slots in the pads and through slots in the ends of the belts to be connected, the ends of the branches of the tongue being folded back into the groove c of the pad a. The plate a is curved in order to be rigid while having a low weight. The plates and tab could, instead of being made of brass, be made of another metal or other material.
We could, without departing from the scope of the invention, give the plates another shape or make them of different widths with one or more tabs. We could also replace the branches of the U-shaped tab by bolts and nuts fixed to the brochure b.
To connect the ends of the straps e (fig. 5 and 6), a clean slit is made across the width of each of the ends of the straps of the same dimension as the section of the branches of the U-shaped tongue d, this the tongue is then introduced into the slots of the pads and the straps so that the pads are vented on either side of the straps and the ends of the branches of the tongue are then folded into the groove c of the pad cc so that everything is tightened together.
