Hydraulic braking device for motor vehicles that can be controlled by a pedal. The present invention relates to a controllable by a pedal hydraulic braking device for motor vehicles, which in the event of a malfunction in the front brakes or in the rear brakes anyway a braking effect with the other brakes, respectively. the rear or front brakes he makes possible.
The systems known up to now have only one piston to be actuated by the foot brake pedal in the pressure cylinder, wel cher masters the front and rear brakes together. As a result, if one of the brakes is defective in the pressure line, the entire braking device of the vehicle is unusable.
This drawback is remedied by the present invention. This is achieved according to the invention in that two independent pressure chambers with associated, common actuatable pressure pistons are provided in the pressure housing, one of which is used to control the front wheel brakes, the other of which is used to control the rear wheel brakes. The whole is designed in such a way that if the front or rear brakes become defective, the other brakes, respectively. the rear or front brakes remain unaffected in their braking capacity.
In the drawing, two example embodiments of the subject invention are shown.
Fig. 1 shows a vertical longitudinal section through the printing cylinder; 2 shows the articulated connection of the piston rods with the foot brake lever from the front; Fig. 3 is a plan view of a second embodiment.
A printing cylinder 1 has two parallel cylinder bores 2 and 3. The Zylin derbohrung 2 is through a line 4 with the brake oil tank for the Vorderradbrem sen in connection. A line 5 connec det the brake oil tank for the rear wheel brakes with the cylinder bore. From the end of the pressure cylinder bore 2, a pressure line 6 leads to the front wheel brakes, and from the end of the cylinder bore 3, a pressure line 7 goes to the rear brakes. In the cylinder bores 2 and 3 provided with sleeves 8 pistons 9 are arranged on. In conical, axial recess conditions of the piston 9 engage with their one ends push rods 10, while their other ends 11 are fork-shaped. At a pin 12 of the foot brake lever 13, a handlebar 14 is rotatably arranged.
At the two ends of this Len kers 14, the fork-shaped ends 11 of the bumpers 10 are rotatable about pin 15. The rotatability of the bumpers 10 on the handlebar 14 is limited by the stop surfaces 16 between the angles of the fork-shaped parts 11.
The device shown in FIG. 3 differs from that according to FIG. 1 in that the cylinder bores 2 and 3 of the printing cylinder lie horizontally next to one another instead of vertically one above the other. In this respect, there is also a correspondingly simpler articulation of the bumpers 10 on a common pin 17 on both sides of the foot brake lever 13.
The mode of operation of the braking device in a trouble-free state is the same as in the known braking devices of this type. If, on the other hand, the rear or front brakes or a pressure line leading to these brakes are defective, the other brakes or the front wheel will still have a braking effect - or the rear wheel brakes. achieved.
If, for example, the pressure line 6 respectively. one of the front wheel brakes damaged, so when the foot brake lever 13 is operated, the brake oil located in front of the piston 9 in the cylinder 2 does not resist this piston, while the on dar; Brake oil in cylinder 3 acting Kol ben 9 encounters significant resistance during its forward movement. As a result, in the first exemplary embodiment, the link 14 assumes an inclined position, which position is limited on both sides by the stop surfaces 16 of the fork-shaped parts 11 of the bumpers.
Both pistons thus move forward, with one of the pistons 9 achieving a braking effect.
