Man benützt darum heute sogenannte Schlundöffner.
Fig. 6 zeigt eine Variante einer Einzelheit.
SchlundöfPner and nausea device. If the cattle get flatulence, one must endeavor to remove the excess gases that have arisen in the rumen from the animal's body. This is done, for example, by a rumen sting or by inserting a pharynx that extends into the stomach. However, these are not safe operations that should only be carried out by a veterinarian.
That's why so-called throat openers are used today. This device consists of two hinge-like hinge-like brackets of unequal length that can be spread apart by a bolt that can be moved between them. This apparatus is inserted into the animal's mouth with the longer bracket lying at the bottom, the brackets spread apart and the latch is held or locked in the required position so that the animal's mouth is kept open. The longer bracket in the lower jaw should extend so far into the animal's throat that the animal gets nausea.
The tipparate of this type known up to now have the disadvantage that the bolt, when it holds the bracket in the spread position, can only be released from this position with difficulty. The bolt is connected to a cord or a chain by means of which it can be pulled into the position in which it keeps the stirrups spread apart. In this position, the bolt is inserted into notches that are attached to the lower bracket. If the bows are then pressed against each other by the animal trying to close its mouth, the bolt is clamped in the notches and can only be loosened with difficulty in order to remove the device from the mouth, which requires the bows to be folded together is.
In the subject matter of the invention, a rod is hinged to the bolt, by means of which it can be pulled into the position in which it keeps the stirrups spread apart. To fix the steep bar against unwanted longitudinal movements, suitable means of such a type are available that they allow ge wanted movements of the steep bar in its longitudinal direction and thus allow corresponding displacements of the bolt easily. Therefore, the latch can be easily pushed back so that the bars collapse and the device can be removed from the animal's mouth.
The rod is expediently provided with a handle and is so long that the latter protrudes from the animal's mouth when the device is used.
The drawing shows in FIG. 1 an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention in a perspective view, while FIGS. 2 and 3 show a detail in different working positions and FIGS. 4 and 5 show two further exemplary embodiments. Fig. 6 shows a variant of a detail.
A wire bracket 1 forms two eyelets 2 at the ends of the legs, in which the leg ends 4 of a second, shorter wire bracket 3 are rotatably mounted. The legs of the bracket 1 are loosely encompassed by eyelets at the ends of a wire cross member 5, so that this cross member 5 can be displaced on the legs of the bracket 1. If the cross member 5 is pushed ver against the hinge of the two brackets, it lies between the two brackets and spreads them apart. When held in this position, it forms an expanding bar to the two brackets.
In order to be able to move this expanding bolt 5 and to be able to determine the clip in the expanded position, the rod 6 provided with a handle 7 is articulated to it. The rod 6 is guided in a hole 8 of the widened end 9, provided with a slot 11, of one leg of the bracket 1 (see FIG. 3). It has recesses 10 and at the flat spots formed thereby, the rod 6 can be pushed into the slot 11 and thereby fixed in its position.
By simply pivoting the rod 6 sideways, so that it comes out of the slot 17 and into the hole 8, the rod 6 and thus the bolt 5 are released from their fixed holding position. Now you can move the latch 5 by pushing the rod 6 on the bracket 1 so that the bracket can be unlocked and collapsed. Once this is done, the device can be removed from the animal's mouth again.
In the embodiment of FIG. 4, the locking device and rod are designed differently. In this figure, the rod 6 has a number of grooves 10 a instead of the recesses 10 which form flat spots. Accordingly, the widened flat end 9 a of one leg of the bracket 1 only has a slot 17 into which the rod 6 can be inserted with its grooves and held therein. Furthermore, the rod 6 is not directly articulated to the bolt 5, but rather its threaded end extends into a counterpart 13 which is directed to the bolt 5 and provided with a clutter thread.
By rotating the rod 6 held with a groove in the slot 17 at the temple end 9a, the bolt 5 can be moved as a result of this threaded connection without lifting the rod 6 out of the slot. In addition to the coarse adjustment by means of the grooves 10a, fine adjustment is also possible in this embodiment by turning the rod.
In the embodiment of FIG. 5, the rod 6 is provided with Ge thread over its entire length. It rotates, held by the head 16, freely in a bearing formed in a wire eyelet 15 hinged to the bolt 5. The end 9 b of one leg of the bracket 1 is formed in this game with a nut 14 in which the rod 6 can be rotated. This makes it possible to pull the bolt 5 into the position in which it keeps the Bü gel spread apart, and to hold it in this position. By turning the rod back, the bolt can easily be moved back again.
The locking device for the rod 6 could also be designed in another way. For example, the rod 6 could be flat and have holes by means of which it could be hooked onto a pin attached to the end 9 of one leg of the bracket 1 and thereby retained.
If the animal has a long throat, so that the bracket 1 does not reach into the throat, the vomiting irritation generated by the apparatus may be insufficient. In order to remedy this disadvantage, a tassel 12 is attached to the curved web part of the bracket 1 in FIG. 1, which is expediently made so long that it always extends into the throat of the animal. This tassel can then still be soaked with an emetic stimulant, for example with a sodium bicarbonate solution, when using the apparatus, which is favorably promoted by achieving the dual purpose of the apparatus.
In FIG. 6, the hanger 1 is provided with two tassels 12a and 12 and a cross wire 18 is attached at the front in order to hold the tassels in their position on the hanger.
