Method and device for coupling a shaft of a travel machine to another shaft by means of a friction clutch. The invention relates to a method for coupling a shaft of a rotary machine with a further shaft by means of a friction clutch and consists in utilizing the axial thrust of the rotary machine to press the friction surfaces of the clutch onto one another. The engagement of the clutch can take place under the influence of the weight of the centrifugal machine rotor, while a lifting device for the rotor can be seen for disengagement.
Advantageously, the hydraulic pressures are distributed to the outer surfaces of the rotor in such a way that the friction surfaces of the clutch press against each other in the rotary machine axis. The rotor can have two concentrically arranged labyrinth seals on the pressure side and provided with cylindrical sealing surfaces, and the space between the labyrinth seals can be provided with a shut-off drain line.
Furthermore, the coupling parts of the series coupling can be designed as cooperating parts of a hydraulic clutch in order to be able to bring the gyroscope rotor or the shaft to the speed required for engaging the friction clutch before the friction clutch is engaged.
The method and devices for exercising the same are explained in more detail below using exemplary embodiments in the drawing. In schematic representation: Fig. 1 shows a section through a pump and a friction clutch, Fig. 2 shows details of Fig. 1 on a larger scale, Fig. D shows a modification of a detail from Fig. 1, Fig. 4 shows a further embodiment the friction clutch.
The pump 1 according to FIGS. 1 and 2 has a Ro tor 2 consisting of three impellers, which is attached to the shaft 3 and promotes the conveying center from the suction nozzle 4 into the discharge nozzle 5. On the shaft 3 .der the rotor 2 associated coupling part 6 of the friction clutch is attached, while the coupling part 7 is firmly connected to the wide Ren shaft 8. On the shaft 8 sits the rotor of the motor 9 serving to drive the pump 1 and the support bearing 10. At the lower end of the shaft 3 there is a lifting device 11 with the auxiliary support bearing 12 and the servomotor 13, the piston 14 of which is raised by a pressure medium.
On the pressure side, the rotor 2 has two concentrically arranged labyrinth seals 15 with cylindrical sealing surfaces. and 16 and the annular space 17 between the labyrinth seals is provided with a discharge line 19 that can be shut off by the closing element 18.
The mode of operation of the device is as follows: When the friction clutch E, 7 is engaged, the rotor 2 is lowered by means of the adjusting device 11 until the friction surfaces 20 and 21 of the clutch parts 6 and 7 meet one another under the influence of the weight of the pump rotor 2. are pressed so that when the motor 9 is energized, the rotor 2 is entrained by friction.
As soon as the conveying medium comes under pressure in the pump 1, a part occurs on the pressure side of the rotor through .die labyrinth seal 15 under pressure drop in the annular space 17 and under a further pressure drop through .die labyrinth seal 16 and along the shaft into the room 22, from where this part of the conveyor through the line 23 flows off. The distribution of the hydraulic pressures on the outer surface of the rotor when the closing element 18 is closed is such that there is a resulting thrust force in the shaft 3 which presses the friction surfaces 20, 21 of the clutch 6, 7 against one another.
When the clutch 6, 7 is disengaged, the pressure medium is first introduced through the line 24 under the piston 14 and then opened after the shut-off element 18 so that the pressure in the space 17 is immediately reduced to atmospheric pressure and the shaft 3 with .dem Rotor 2 and the coupling part 6 .by the piston 14 of the servo motor 13 is raised.
To hold the rotor 2 in the position that corresponds to the disengaged state of the friction clutch 6, 7, the locking device 30 is provided, which has a lever 31 through which the eccentric cam 32 can be adjusted so that it the nose 33 of the piston 14 is supported in the raised position of the latter and thereby prevents the piston 14 and thus the shaft 3 from lowering further even if there is no pressure medium below the piston 14.
When the clutch is engaged, the support bearing 10 not only bears the weight of the rotor of the motor 9, but also the weight of the rotor 2 and the shaft 3, which are also suspended on the shaft 8 by means of the clutch position 6, which is supported on the clutch part 7 are.
In addition, the support bearing 10 is loaded by the axial thrust occurring in the shaft 3.
In FIG. 3, apart from the labyrinth seals 15, 16, an axial thrust relief device is provided for the rotor, which consists of the ring 25 connected to the housing of the pump 1 and the ring 26 fastened to the rotor 2. When the clutch 6, 7 is disengaged (FIG. 1), the rotor 2 assumes the position shown in dash-dotted lines (FIG. 3).
By opening the shut-off element 18, the pressure in the annular space between the labyrinth seals 15 and 16 has decreased to atmospheric pressure, so that the hydrostatic pressure on the annular surface between the diameters D1 and DZ generates a thrust upward in the axial direction. to lift the rotor 2 respectively. contributes to the disengagement of the clutch 6, 7.
As a result, the parts 25 and 26 of the axial thrust relief device 25, 26 and .der La byrinthdichtung 15 is again increased and the Hubbewe movement of the rotor 2 comes to a standstill by balancing the hydraulic pressures on the outer surfaces of the rotor 2 and the weight of the same. The weight of the rotor 2 is taken up by the hydraulic pressure on the ring surface between the diameters D and D3. D2 is the diameter of the impeller seal on the suction side.
In order to be able to regulate the size of the axial thrust, which is used to press the friction surfaces 20, 21 of the clutch 6, 7 against one another, a regulating element 28 (FIG. 3) is provided which can be adjusted by means of the spring 29, for example, that the pressure in space 17 assumes a desired constant value.
In FIG. 4, the clutch parts 6, 7 of the friction clutch are designed at the same time as cooperating parts 34, 35 of a hydraulic clutch. The position drawn in full lines .des coupling part 6 in Fig. 4 represents the disengaged to stand the friction clutch. To Kup peln the shaft 3 with the shaft 8, a liquid is through the bore 36 of the shaft 3 in the spaces of the blades provided parts 34 and 35 of the hydraulic 'clutch initiated.
If the shaft 8 is now set in rotation, the liquid to be fed through the bore 36 forms in the parts 34 and 35, in the sense of the arrows 37., so that the part 34 of the hydraulic clutch forms under the influence of the the part 35 is driven th liquid supplied to him. The liquid occurs on the circumference of the hitch part 6 is prevented by the seal 38 as possible.
As soon as the shaft 3 is brought to the speed required for engaging the friction clutch, the shaft 3 is lowered in the manner described above, so that the friction surface 20 of the clutch part 6 presses against the friction surface 21, whereby the friction Exercise clutch is engaged and the shaft 3 is now taken from the shaft 8 by friction between the surfaces 20 and 21. The contact pressure is again generated by the axial thrust of the pump 3.
After the friction clutch is engaged, the liquid inflow through the bore 36 is shut off by means of a shut-off device (not shown) and the liquid in parts 34 and 35 of the hydraulic clutch is emptied through the bore 39 under the influence of centrifugal force. The leakage fluid, which exits through the seal 38, collects in the space 40 and enters from there into the space 41 to flow abge through the line 42.
The devices described have the advantage that the contact pressure of the friction surfaces of the friction clutch 6, 7 increases with the increase in the power to be transmitted and with the increase in speed due to the increasing pressure on the pressure side of the rotary machine increases, so that a sliding of the parts 6 and 7 of the friction clutch is excluded even with .the highest power to be transmitted.
In addition, there is the advantage, in particular for linear storage systems, in contrast to known toothed or claw clutches, that the pump can be disengaged during operation without having to switch off the electrical machine, so that the time for switching from Pum pen operation can be significantly shortened to turbine operation and special braking devices for stopping the running parts .the pump and the electrical machine can be avoided.
The engagement of the clutch is also independent of the position of the clutch parts. Because the servomotor 13 is pressurized before the pressure in the space 17 is reduced by opening the shut-off element 18, there is the possibility of the friction coupling 6, 7 disengaging quickly and the friction surfaces 20 and 21 being spared .
The method for coupling according to the invention can also be used for coupling a fan with its drive machine.
The pressure medium for the servomotor can be of the hydraulic or pneumatic type. A mechanical or electrical lifting device for the shaft 3 can also be provided on Steäle of the servomotor 13.
With the shafts 8 and 3 in a horizontal position, a spring can be provided in a known manner to engage the clutch, but the contact pressure is generated by the axial thrust of the rotary machine. In this case, an auxiliary support bearing designed, for example, as a comb bearing is advantageously arranged between the servo motor and the rotary machine shaft in order to transfer the action of the servo motor for adjusting the rotary machine shaft in its axial direction to the shaft 3.
. In place of the labyrinth seals 15, 16, a stuffing box surrounding the shaft 3 can be provided in order to be able to utilize the greatest possible axial thrust of the rotor 2 for pressing the friction surfaces of the clutch onto one another.
Finally, a cooling device for the friction surfaces 20 and 21 can be provided.
