Horizontal centrifugal classifier for wood pulp, cellulose or similar. The invention relates to a lying centrifugal sifter for wood pulp, cellulose, etc .. in which the material passes through a stationary screen jacket with a horizontal axis and aims to create a uniform application of the Siebum catch by the material and the desired inside the sifter Over pressure to maintain the sieve.
Lying centrifugal separators with a central feed inlet on the vane shaft generally have the disadvantage that the incoming material is distributed unevenly over the circumference of the screen jacket in the direction of the inlet manifold axis and gravity. This creates accumulations of material in certain: places, for example on the underside of the sieve, which prevent the material from being sifted evenly.
Attempts have been made to distribute the substance in conical or funnel-shaped inlet mouthpieces that extend almost half the length of the sifter evenly and radially on the screen jacket. However, this design was associated with the disadvantage that the jets of material fed to the sieve were cut by the rotating centrifugal vanes and this resulted in a great deal of power consumption.
In addition, the interruption of the jets worsened the centrifugal effect against the sieve, since only the material was swirled around. The performance of the viewer therefore remained at a low level.
In various other designs of loving classifiers with a central inlet, attempts were made to divert and distribute the material following gravity towards the screen jacket by extending the centrifugal blades over the hub of the centrifugal wheel. The effect of the short. The wing on the inlet side was limited because -, the material hitting the hub disk rebounded, forming vortices and was only set in circulation in the outer zone and led to the sieve.
In order to bring the incoming substance in the inlet pipe in the same direction of rotation as the impeller, in other designs a ring of fixed guide vanes is built into the head inlet. Short ribs on the wheel hub then guide the material set in circulation completely into the viewing zone.
The fixed guide wheel, however, gives the material flow a considerable amount. Resistance, so that this type of construction requires a higher static inlet pressure. Since the inside of the sifter is under overpressure, this must also be increased by the corresponding amount, which runs counter to efforts to get by with as little pressure and drainage channel height as possible.
To remedy these deficiencies, in the present sifter, the entire incoming flow of material is captured by rotating blades and moved from the axial to the radial direction.
In the drawing, the subject of the invention is shown, for example, namely the figure shows a vertical axis section through the machine.
In the machine shown, the rotor a, which is keyed on the shaft a1 with its hub a2, moves inside the screen jacket c, which can be removed in a known manner with the end walls b and d </ I> of the sifter -sealing. The material inlet manifold b1 carries the bearing for the shaft a 'and seals the shaft passage by means of a stuffing box b2.
The inlet channel i, from which the substance enters the classifier, is stored on the manifold b1.
The rotor hub a = is tapered into the inlet b1. Their shape resembles that of a pump impeller. The cross sections for the material flow narrow towards the sieve. On the hub a 'wings a ° are attached to the inlet side, which can extend from the shaft a1 to an, the screen jacket e and either extend radially outward in an axial plane or can extend against the screen jacket wound around the axis .
The number and guidance of these blades a 'is independent of that of the centrifugal blades a3, which, beginning with the inner hub disk edge, extend over the largest part of the screen length.
_ The coarse material outlet dl is located on the frame side d, through which the shaft a1 is guided in a stuffing box d =. The coarse material flows off through channel k and: the fine material emerges in a known manner from below in a channel 1.
As a result of the design of the machine described, the particles of material that form vortices around the shaft are gripped by the blades of the protruding hub and forced outwards. The wings reaching in front of the inlet nozzle generate a certain negative pressure which sucks the outer material parts of the inlet cross-section towards the shaft. The blades, which extend from the shaft almost to the sieve, ensure that the material is evenly distributed over the hub disk and the circumference of the sieve casing.
The larger amount of the substance that does not immediately pass through the sieve is transported in the axial direction by the. the hub disc exposed, annular cross-section urges ge. Here, under the pressure of the column of material in the inlet, a uniform, cylindrical ring of material is formed, which now extends all the way around the length of the screen with the rotor. The centrifugal vanes can now take full effect and convey the fabric through the sieve.
Thanks to this advantageous mode of action, the material is fed to the viewing zone in an even movement and distribution. It can now not be too high a relative speed of the fabric compared to the revolving wings that depress the visual work of the machine. Furthermore, clogging of the screen jacket by particles of material is prevented because: the even distribution of material no longer allows larger amounts of material to clump together at certain points.
Due to these circumstances, the machine needs less power with a higher classifying performance and no longer has to stand still to clean the clogged sieve.
