Description
Protection device in fastening holes of panels made of enamelled sheet metal. When attaching panels made of fragile material such. B. made of glass or enameled sheet metal, documents were usually placed from soft material between the board and fasteners. In the case of glass panels, this protection is generally sufficient, since the edges of the holes are not very sensitive to damage. In the case of enamelled metal sheets, on the other hand, the enamel layer that covers the hole wall can be blown off by the lateral pressure of the screw when it sits eccentrically in the hole or by careless manipulation during assembly.
Such a defect, which usually goes unnoticed when it occurs, leads to rust formation and destruction of the panel over time.
If the board is not installed by the manufacturer himself or by a specialist who knows the properties of the enamel, the washers, which are usually made of lead, are very often forgotten at all. The external forces acting on the board, as well as their temperature movements, then cause cracks in the enamel layer at the points where the board is pressed between the solid base and the screw head, through which the moisture penetrates and the formation of rust can cause.
The present invention now has a device as an object that provides a permanent protection of the mounting holes guaranteed. According to the invention, an eyelet is attached in the fastening hole in such a way that the hole edges are protected on all sides. Devices for producing such eyelets are known per se.
The figure in the drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. In the figure, B = sheet iron, E = enamel layer, 0 = eyelet, .S = fastening screw, U = base on which the board is attached.
As can be seen from the figure, he not only sets the eyelet the two washers mentioned, but it also protects the hole walls. Since the eyelet cannot fall out, it can already be properly attached by the manufacturer so that the assembly of the panel by untrained personnel no longer poses a risk to the panel.
If the eyelet is designed in such a way that there is a certain amount of leeway between it and the board, part of the screw pressure is used to compress the eyelet during assembly of the board, so that the pressure on the enamel layer is significantly lower than with the previous assembly with two washers.
