Das Verfahren gemäss der Erfindung kann natürlich auch mit anders gebauten Vorrichtungen durchgeführt werden. Zur Durchführung ,des Verfahrens können zwecks schrittweisen Ziehens aufeinanderfolgender Abschnitte einer Röhre irgendwelche geeig nete, sich relativ zueinander bewegende Dorne und Zieheisen verwendet werden, wo bei .die Röhre mit und relativ zudem sich zueinander bewegenden Dorn und Zieheisen zwischen zwei aufeinander folgenden Zieh schritten bewegt und dadurch geglättet wird. Bei der beschriebenen und dargestellten Ma schine wird der Dorn mit Bezug auf ein fest angeordnetes Zieheisen bewegt;
Method and machine for drawing tubes. The Röh ren drawn in known pulling devices by known methods often have markings on their circumference in from each other, which correspond to the ends of the successive processing sections of the tube. Even though the tube is practically not damaged by these markings for use, its appearance is worsened by these markings.
The invention aims to avoid this disadvantage. It relates to a method and an apparatus for pulling Röh ren; The method is characterized in that the tube is subjected to the drawing action step by step between a mandrel and a drawing die, the two drawing elements being moved relative to one another during the drawing process, and that the tube between the successive drawing steps for the purpose of smoothing at least relative to one the drag element is moved.
The suitable drawing machine for practicing this method, which also forms part of the invention, is characterized by means for moving one of the drawing elements consisting of the mandrel and drawing iron back and forth with respect to the other by an amount that is a fraction of the length the tube to be drawn, and .by means to put oneinan the following sections of the tube step by step, one after the other, the action of the pulling elements movable with respect to one another.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of this machine is shown for example.
They show: Fig. 1, yes and 1b a perspective side view of the machine parts necessary to understand the invention, Fig. 2 an axial section through the 'tube, the mandrel, the drawing iron, the clamping chuck and the associated parts on a larger scale .
The machine frame 10 supports a drive shaft 11. As shown, this shaft 11 carries a pulley 12 which is driven by a pulley 14 on a shaft 15 on the machine frame or the base plate, or on any one another suitable place arranged electric motor 16 is attached. The shaft 11 carries a worm 17 and a pinion 18. The worm 17 meshes with a worm wheel 19 which is fastened on a shaft 20 extending along the machine, which carries a clutch 21 of suitable construction.
Is the clutch 21 engaged, a bevel gear 22 is driven by the shaft 20, which meshes with a bevel gear 23 which is mounted on a shaft 24, which the device for the purpose of periodic movement of the tube with respect to the mandrel and - the die moves as described below.
The pinion 18 meshes with a gear 25 which is mounted on a crankshaft 26, the crank 27 by means of the connecting rod 28 pushes a crosshead 29 in suitable, provided on the machine frame Füh ments back and forth.
Rods 31 extending along the machine are attached to lugs 30 attached to the side of the cross head 29; which are connected at their front end to toothed racks 33, which have teeth 34 and are guided for the purpose of sliding movement in brackets 35 (FIG. 1b) which are fastened in a suitable manner to the machine frame. The racks are connected at their front ends by a cross-connecting rail 36,
wherein cross pins 37 are ge leads through openings in the racks and bear against the connecting rail 36 so that this rail is moved together with the racks.
A mandrel rod 40 is rotatably attached to the cross head 29, which carries a roller 41 running on a rail 42. By lifting the rails 42 by means of a piston rod 43 of a piston located in the pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder 44, the mandrel rod is lifted into the position shown in dashed lines.
At the front end of the mandrel rod 40, a mandrel 46 is placed in a suitable manner. In this mandrel there is a threaded bore 47 into which the end 48 of a tie rod 49 is screwed, which extends along the machine and carries a piston 50 at its front end, which is in a cylinder 51 supported by the connecting rail 36 emotional. The cylinder 51 has suitable inlet and outlet connections 52 so that a pressure medium, either air or liquid, can be introduced into this cylinder and act on the pull rod 49.
Since the mandrel 46 is connected ver through the mandrel rod 40 with the cross head 29, the racks 33 are attached to the cross head and the connec tion rail 36 moves with the racks 33, the tie rod 49 is kept under tension by its connec tion with the connecting rail 36 is and is connected to the mandrel 46 by the connection 47, 48, the mandrel with the toothed rods 33 moves both forwards and backwards when they are moved back and forth with the cross head 29.
On the machine frame, a normally fixed, but adjustable drawing iron block 55 be fastened, which carries a drawing iron 56, in a suitable manner.
The drawing block 60 is guided in the machine frame for the purpose of rectilinear movement along the machine and is located transversely to the machine between the racks 33 and has an opening at 61 for the purpose of receiving a clamping chuck. On each side of the machine, this drawing block 60 has a cross section with arms 62 and 63 extending forwards and backwards and one arm extending downwards. 64.
The arm 62 has an upwardly projecting portion 65 in which a pin 66 is rotatable, which carries a pawl 67 directed forward. In an analogous manner, a pawl 70 is attached to the pin 69 of the arm 63. These parts are also available on the opposite side of the machine to work with the rack on this side.
The drawing block 60 carries a clamping chuck 71 which has jaws 72 which are rotatably attached to levers 78 which rotate about a pin 74 and can be actuated by an expanding nut 75. 76 denotes a ring disk influenced by a spring. The tube 80 to be pulled is provided at its front end with an inwardly projecting edge 81 for the purpose of connecting it to a riding block 82, which has a head 83 which tapers towards the rear and on which the jaws 72 engage.
The rimmed end of the tube is clamped between the shoulder 84 of the riding block and the jaws 72.
At .dem pin 66 a crank arm 91 is attached by an adjusting screw 90, which is connected to a connecting rod 93, rotatably bar at 92, the connecting rod is rotatably connected to its opposite end at 94 with a crank arm 95, the hub 96 on a in the machine frame mounted rod 97 slides and rotated by this who can. The connecting rod 93 passes through a helical spring 98, which rests on a gonsol 99 which is attached in a suitable manner to an extension of the drawing block 60.
With the opposite end lying low, the spring 98 presses against a cross pin 100 carried by the connecting rod 93, so that the connecting rod is normally pushed upward, in such a way that the pawl 6 7 is in engagement with the teeth 34 of the rack 33 A crank arm 102 is attached to the pin 69 by an adjusting screw 101 and is rotatably connected at 103 to a connecting rod 104. The rod 104 is rotatably attached at its lower end at 105 to a crank arm 106 which has a hub 107 which slides on a rod 108 and can be rotated by the latter.
The rod 108 is mounted in the machine frame and extends along this parallel to the rod 97.
At its front end, the rod 108 has a permanently attached crank arm 109 (FIG. 1b), to which a connecting rod is rotatably attached at 110 and at its upper end at 112 on an angle lever 113 is attached, which has an upwardly extending nose 11.1, which protrudes into the working path of a lug 115 located on the underside of the rack 33. The connecting rod 111 is passed through a coil spring 116. which rests on a bracket 117 which is fastened in a suitable manner to the machine frame.
The opposite end of the spring 116 acts on a transverse pin 118 carried by the connecting rod 111, so that the nose 114 extends the angle lever 113 normally into the path of the projection 115.
On the machine frame is at 119, opposite to the angle lever 113 with respect to the projection 115, a second angle lever 120 is attached, the nose 121 of which protrudes beitsweg of the approach 115 in the Ar. The angle lever 120 is rotatably connected at 122 to a connecting rod 123 which protrudes downward through a coil spring 124 which rests on a bracket 125 suitably supported by the machine frame and with its opposite end against one carried by the connecting rod 123 Cross pin 126 pushes so that the angle lever 120 is normally held in such a way that its nose 121 protrudes into the path of the projection 115.
The opposite end of the connecting rod 123 is rotatably connected at 127 to a crank arm 128 which has a hub 129 which is mounted on a rod 130 which extends parallel to the rods 97 and 108 along the machine. The hub 131 of the crank arm 132 is slidably mounted on the rod 130 and can be rotated by the rod. The crank arm 132 is rotatable at 133 and is connected to a connecting rod 134 which extends upwardly and is rotatably connected at its opposite end at 135 to a crank arm 136 carried by a pin 137 which is rotatably attached to the downwardly extending arm 64 of the drawing block 60.
The pin 13'7 carries a pawl 138 projecting upwards and backwards, which meshes with the teeth 139 of a rack 140 which is guided in the machine frame in a suitable manner for its linear movement.
The rack 140 is periodically moved forward and backward. As shown, a toothed segment 141 is rotatably attached to the machine frame at 142, the teeth of which mesh with the teeth of the rack 140. On this segment, an arm 143 is fastened with a longitudinal slot 144 BE. On the shaft 24, a disk 145 is attached, which carries a rotatable about a pin block 146 which can slide in the slot 144 when the disk 145 is rotated and through cooperation th with this arm 143 the segment 141 swings back and forth and thereby the rack 140 moves back and forth.
In order to actuate the clutch 21 at the appropriate time, and to cause the disc 145 to make only a single revolution and then to stand still, the clutch 21 has an actuating arm 149 carried by a shaft 150 at its opposite end has a crank arm 151 which is rotatably connected at 152 to a connecting rod 153 which protrudes upward through a coil spring 154 which rests on a bracket 155 carried by the machine frame and presses against a pin 156 carried by the connecting rod 153.
The connecting rod 153 is rotatably connected at its upper end at 157 to an angle lever 158 which is rotatably attached to the machine frame at 159 and has an upwardly extending nose 160 which is inserted into the path of one of the rack 33 ge t-level approach 161 protrudes.
In order to operate the rods 97, 108 and 130 to bring the individual pawls with the corresponding racks out of working position, each rod has a hub 165 which can be rotated by a connecting rod 166 against the action of the springs 98, 116 and 124 which rod is connected at its opposite end to a lever 167 which is rotatably connected to the machine frame at 168 and has a locking device 169 which is connected to a segment 170 for the purpose of retention .The lever 167 cooperates in the set position.
The racks 33 and the parts connected to them are arranged symmetrically to the longitudinal center plane of the machine for the purpose of exerting the pulling force on the tube, so that the forces with respect to the tube axis are exerted symmetrically and transverse forces on the mandrel and those connected to them Rods are avoided.
It therefore has the machine on the side opposite to that shown, again times the parts shown in Figures 1, yes, 1b, which are omitted in the drawing for better clarity; however, rods 97 ', 108' and 130 'along with some of the parts they operate such as 93', 95 ', 104', 105 ', 132', 134 'and 165' have been shown.
If desired, the racks 33 can have teeth on both their top and bottom surfaces, and the pawls and associated parts on each side of the machine can be used to cooperate with those on the top and bottom surfaces of the rack Duplicate teeth. For the sake of better clarity, only one of the toothed pawl sets that work with each rack has been shown.
To prepare the machine for the drawing process, the mandrel and the mandrel rod are moved into the position shown in dashed lines. After the riding block 82 has been brought into position at the end of the tube, the tube is pushed over the mandrel and then the mandrel with the tube is lowered into the position shown in solid lines, which is axially in one with the drawing iron and the drawing iron block Direction lies. The last-mentioned parts are then moved over the end of the tube, and the pawls by Actuate conditions of the lever 167 with their racks brought out of working position.
The drawing block 60 is then moved to bring the clamping jaws 72 with the protruding end of the riding block 82 in a handle, in which position the inwardly curved edge 81 of the tube is clamped firmly against the riding block. The expansion nut 75 can then turn in a suitable manner to keep the clamping chuck with the riding block and the tube in the clamping position. The train rod 49 is then screwed into the end of the mandrel. Friction fluid is then fed to the cylinder 50 in order to bring the pull rod under tension.
The lever 167 is adjusted so that the springs 98, 116 and 124 push the rods 93, 11 and 124 afterwards, and the machine can now pull the tube.
Since .the cross head 29 is moved forward by the crank 27, the rods 31, the racks 33 and the connecting rail 36 are also moved forward. The mandrel 46 is pushed forward by the mandrel rod 40 and pulled forward by the pull rod 49. The pawls 67 are now engaged with the teeth of the racks 34 in A and the tension block 60 is also moved forward. The mandrel and the tube are drawn through the stationary drawing iron 56, which pulls the tube. During this process, the. Pawls 67 with the teeth of the toothed rods 34 held by the springs 98 in engagement, which press up against the pins 100, which are carried by the connecting rods 93 and strive to.
Kur belarme 91 to move in the opposite direction. Since the parts are located on the opposite side of the machine, it is sufficient if the operation of the parts on one side is described.
During the forward movement of the rack 33, the projection 115 releases the nose 114 of the angle lever 113, the spring 116 lifts the connecting rod 111 and the crank arm 109 is rotated clockwise as seen in the drawing. Here, the rod 108 and the crank arm 105 are also rotated, so that the connecting rod 104 moves upwards, rotates the crank arm 102 and brings the pawl 70 with the teeth of the rack 33 into engagement. Since the drawing block 60 moves with the rack 33, there is no relative movement between the pawl 70 and the rack.
During most of the forward movement of the rack 33, namely during the last part of this movement, the projection 115 presses against the nose 121 of the angle lever 120 and never presses the connecting rod 123. During the downward movement of the connecting rod 123, the crank arm 128 is rotated in the counterclockwise direction and thus the rod 133 and the crank arm 132 are also rotated in the counterclockwise direction, so that the connecting rod 134 is moved downward and the cure belarm 136 is rotated so that the pawl 1.38 with the teeth 139 of the rack 140 comes out of engagement.
When the cross head 29 begins its backward movement, it moves the toothed rods 33 and the drawing block 60 backwards. since the pawls 70 are now engaged with the teeth of the toothed stands 34. It therefore moves the tube through the drawing iron with the mandrel 46 also backwards. The pawl 138 is still held out of engagement with the teeth of the rack 140 by the projection 115. The pawls 67 are still in engagement with the teeth 34 of the rack 33, and the pawls 67 and the racks 33 do not move relative to one another.
When the tube and the mandrel have carried out a suitable large part of the backward movement, preferably about four fifths of the travel, the shoulder 115 disengages from the nose 121 of the angle lever 120 and presses on the nose 114 of the angle lever 113 at the same time .
The angle lever 113 is thereby rotated in the Cregen direction and moves the connecting rod 111 against the tension of the spring 116 down and rotates the crank arm 109, the rod 1.08 and the cure belarm 105 in the counterclockwise direction. As a result, the connecting rod 104 is moved downwards, the crank arm 102 is rotated and the pawl 70 is lifted from the toothed rod 33, and the backward movement of the drawing block 60 with the toothed rods 33, and the backward movement of the tube through the drawing iron are ended . On the other hand, when the lug 121 of the angle lever 120 becomes free, the connecting rod 123 is raised by the spring 124 and the crank arm 128, the rod 130 and the crank arm 132 are rotated clockwise.
Furthermore, the connecting rod 134 is raised, the crank arm 136 is rotated and the pawl 138 is brought into engagement with the teeth of the rack 140. At the same time, the lug 161 located on the rack 33 actuates the nose 160 of the angle lever 158, whereby the connecting rod 153 is pressed down and the crank arm 151 and thus the shaft 150 are rotated, so .that the clutch 21 is engaged.
The shaft 24 and its disc 145 who rotated the once completely and the meshing with the teeth of the rack 140 tooth sector 141 moves and the rack first. Since the pawl 138 is now engaged with the teeth of the rack 140, the drawing block 60 is guided forward. This forward movement of the drawing block through the rack 140 takes place during the remaining part of the backward movement and the first part of the forward movement of the mandrel and the racks 33 instead.
As the drawing block 60 advances through the rack 140, the tube is displaced over the mandrel: and advanced through the die. If the racks 33 have reached the speed of the rack 140 on their next forward movement, they take over the forward guidance of the drawing block 60. During this time, the racks 33 have moved into the position in which the projection 115 on the nose 121 of the @ - # Tinker lever 120 acts and thereby the pawl 138 is disengaged from the rack 140.
The approach 115 comes out of engagement with the nose 114 of the angle lever 113 and brings the locking pawl 70 back into engagement with the rack 34. If the backward movement of the tube is interrupted at four fifths of the backward movement of the mandrel, the forward movement of the tube is taken over by the racks 33 almost at the end of the first fifth of the forward movement of the rack 33.
During the meantime, in which the mandrel completes its backward movement and moves together with the tube, the latter is moved forward by the rack 140 by the amount that the tube was moved backward when the drawing block 60 was passed through The pawl 70 with the rack 33 was guided backwards. The speed of the drawing block 60 as a result of the action of the rack 140 up to the point in time at which the pawl 138 disengages from the rack 140 is .derart that the drawing block is moved forward by the same amount by which it is backward was moved.
The forward movement of the drawing block 60 by means of the rack 140 is preferably carried out until the speed of the rack 33 is equal to that of the rack 140, so that no essential speed change takes place when the drawing block 60 is moved forward again by the rack 33 . Up to this point in time, the speed of the toothed racks 33 is less than the speed of the pulling block 60 pulled by the toothed rack 140, so that the pawl 67 slides over the teeth 34. The pawl 70 is lifted from the teeth 34 due to the action of the projection 115 on the angle lever 113 during this period.
'If the drawing block 60 is moved forward again by the racks 33, the pawl 138 is lifted off the rack 140 as a result of the action of the projection 115 on the angle lever 120, and the rack is called during the second half of the rotary movement Disk 145 is moved back to the initial position. At the end of the rotary movement of the disk 145, the clutch 21 itself is actively disengaged and the disk 145 remains stationary until the projection 161 acts again on the nose 160 of the angle lever 158.
If .the tube has been completely pulled, the lever 167, the rods 97, 108 and 130 are rotated counterclockwise and all pawls 67, 70 and 138 with the corresponding racks are brought out of reach. The drawing block 60 can then be moved freely in its guides. If the pressure in the cylinder 50 is released, the pull rod 49 can be released and pulled out of the mandrel and the pulled tube can be freed from the clamping chuck and removed from the machine.
The machine is equipped with suitable devices for lubricating the pipe to be pulled. It can also have automatic devices that carry out the various operations in the appropriate time sequence. These various automatic devices have been omitted for clarity.
So it is the tube with the mandrel moved forward and pulled between the rela tively moving mandrel and the drawing iron. The tube is then returned with the mandrel for most of its working path and then, before the end of the backward movement is reached, at which time the mandrel has moved out of the working position with the drawing iron, the backward movement of the tube is interrupted. The tube is then advanced forward as the mandrel completes its backward movement and begins its forward movement.
Then, when the mandrel has reached the speed equal to that of the advancing tube, the mandrel comes into operative position for the drawing iron and the next section of the tube is drawn. This new section of the tube then moves forward with the spike and during the largest. Part of its travel back to work and then moves forward as the mandrel completes its backward movement and begins its forward movement. A third section of the tube is then drawn. This repeats itself until the whole tube is pulled.
The relationship of the way. around which the tube moves backwards with the mandrel. to the work path, that is to say the path by which the tube moves forwards with the mandrel during the drawing process, can be changed. However, the tube is preferably guided in a suitable manner such that it moves backwards with the mandrel for approximately four fifths of its working path and then forwards again independently of the mandrel and, during the mandrel, the remaining fifth of its backward movement and the first fifth its forward movement completes, the drawn portion of the tube moves forward with respect to the die by the amount. by which the tube has been moved backwards.
Therefore, if the backward movement of the mandrel is a total of 125 mm, the tube moves backward only 100 mm together with the mandrel. In the time in which the mandrel covers the remaining 5 mm and moves forward by 5 mm, the tube has already been moved forward by 100 mm. The next section of the tube that is now. is pulled together with the mandrel is 100 mm.
These movement conditions have only been given as examples. The length of the work path and the ratio of the individual movement lengths of the mandrel can be changed within considerable limits.
During the time in which the tube moves backwards with the mandrel and then moves forward independently of the mandrel, the tube is smoothed, as it is pulled through the drawing die during the movements.
Each section of the tube to be drawn is therefore subjected to two smoothing actions of the drawing iron, once the tube moves with the mandrel, but relative to the drawing iron, and the second time the tube is moved both to the mandrel and to the drawing iron before the next section the tube is pulled. This eliminates the markings caused by the intermittent actuation of the pulling elements moving towards one another (mandrel and die), and the tube has a completely identical appearance.
The method according to the invention can of course also be carried out with devices of different construction. To carry out the process, any suitable mandrel and drawing die moving relative to one another can be used for the step-by-step drawing of successive sections of a tube, where the tube moves with and relative to the mandrel and drawing die moving relative to one another between two successive drawing steps is thereby smoothed. In the machine described and illustrated, the mandrel is moved with respect to a fixed die;
however, the tube can also be drawn by moving the drawing die back and forth with respect to the mandrel, or by moving both parts at the same time. Furthermore, the machine, although it is intended in particular for drawing thin-walled tubes, can also be used for drawing thick tubes.
