Spool for winding ribbons. To wind up tapes, the beginning of the tape, especially if it is elastic film tapes, must be attached to the spool core. With narrow reels that have a large diameter, as is the case, for example, with film reels for narrow films of only 16 mm width, the fastening of the beginning of the tape is difficult, and therefore fastening devices of various types have been used that are operated from the outside can.
It is known, for example, to use guided pins in a slot that either grasp the tape by means of a clamp or through which it can be placed firmly in a recess corresponding to the diameter of the pin on the circumference of the full core by tightening special clamping screws. Furthermore, Vorrich lines have been used which consist of a pressure plate attached to a preferably resilient pivot arm, which press the film introduced between them and the core on the circumference of the core.
These devices all have the disadvantage that the mostly very smooth and elastic film strips pull themselves out from under the clamping device during the winding movement, which usually takes place at high speed.
The present invention is. a reel for winding tapes, in particular film tapes, which is intended to avoid the disadvantage mentioned. The object of the invention is characterized by a hollow core provided with an opening on its periphery and a guide for threading the tape to the periphery of the coil through which the tape is held in the core of the coil.
The drawing illustrates the subject matter of the invention using several examples. Fig. 1 shows a cross section, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the first game; 3 shows an example with a resilient member attached to a pivot arm; Fig. 4 shows the link itself in a diagrammatic representation; Fig. 5 shows a coil with a similarly designed, resilient member, where in this is guided in a radial slot; FIG. 6 shows the front view of FIG. 5.
The placed on a mandrel 1 film coil consists of a hollow core 2 and laterally riveted discs ben 3. On one of the discs 3, a pivot arm 5 is rotatably mounted around a pin 4, the free end of which to a bracket 6, which the Film tape holding organ forms, is bent. The arm 5 lies on the outside of the coil and engages with its free end forming the clamp 6 into the space formed by the coil washers. For this purpose, the disc 3, which carries the pivot arm 5, a. circular arc-shaped slot 7.
The cylindrical shell of the coil core 2 is provided with an opening _8 through which the clamp 6 can be passed so that it gets into the interior of the coil core 2.
For threading a tape, for example, a film tape 10, the arm 5 is pivoted to the periphery of the reel discs 3 ge so that it comes into the extended position shown in FIG. Here, the threading of the tape into the now essentially outside of the discs 3 clamp 6 can be vorgenom men. Appropriately, the beginning of the tape is either resiliently held in the Klam mer, the clip is thus designed as a fastening member for the tape, or inserted through the clip and attached on the other side of the Klam mer 6 against pulling out.
After the tape 10 has been threaded, the arm 5 is pivoted downwards so that the clamp 6 reaches the interior of the spool core 2. The tape is then wound up in a known manner, the film tape being held in place by the clamp 6 in the spool core.
According to FIG. 3, instead of the clamp 6, a resilient member 9 holding the film in the spool core is attached to the swivel arm 5, which member can also be bent at right angles from the arm 5 and protrudes through the slot 7 into the space between the spool disks 3. The resilient member 9 consists of a sheet metal strip with a U-shaped cross-section, which is designed to be resilient in .sich, so that in the working position it pushes the tape 10 placed between itself and the coil core 2 into the like and it in the off clamping 8 'of the hollow core. If necessary, the surface of the Glie 9 can be roughened to prevent the tape from being pulled out.
In Fig. 4, the link 9 is shown individually. The member 9, which preferably extends over the entire width of the coil core 2, lies down when the arm 5 is depressed by means of its resilient legs against the opening edges of the opening 8 ', with the film tape applied to the coil core being pressed into the opening 8' and is therefore held in the core of the coil.
FIG. 5 shows an example in which a resilient member 9 designed in the same way as in FIG. 4, which in turn represents the organ holding the film, is used. The member protrudes with a lateral at set 11 through a coil wall 3 and is guided in this in a radial slot 7 '. In order to avoid falling after the high position of the link 9 for inserting the tape 10 to be wound, an actuating button 12, which is attached to the projection 11, can be provided with a resilient self-locking 13 for handling.
It can also be placed in the hollow core \? a ribbon spring which rolls up automatically and can be pulled out to the reel circumference to fix the film, which has an organ holding the film at the outer end and which can be pulled out by means of a loop attached to the reel circumference in order to be able to fasten the film and which, after the end of the film tape has been fastened, retracts automatically into the core as a result of its spring force,
the attached film end being taken along by the mentioned organ and then held in the spool core.
In the case of cine film devices, the film reels are generally arranged in such a way that they can only be inserted from one side in order to insert the film in the correct direction. In order to achieve this, one has a square hole on one side of the spool and a round hole on the other, or one of the spool washers is marked with a mark that shows how the spool should be placed on the mandrel 1.
In the coils shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, these special facilities are unnecessary if the arms 5 are attached to the coil disc located on the outside in the operating position.
The reels shown are of particular advantage for films because the large holes in the reel disks are omitted. These holes, through which the tape was previously threaded, have the disadvantage that the air can freely approach the individual layers of the film tape. This creates the risk that the film tape will dry out and become brittle. This disadvantage is avoided by using the illustrated coils.
